Success Begins In The Mind

Success is characterized in various forms, also has many meanings depending on what one is seeking for in his life, relationship and career. To athletes, success can mean obtaining that gold medal, to parents’ success can mean raising children with good moral values, to doctors, success can mean saving a life and to some it can mean a job promotion or acquiring wealth. It actually depends on one’s perspective of the life that one has. Understanding and success perceptions are as abundant as there are stars in the sky.

One apparent thing about success is that every individual has to determine the true meaning of success in his own life. The one’s who walk through life making an attempt to accomplish “success” through someone else’s standards or through the standards of one’s society will continuously be lacking of that successful feeling.

The modern dictionary defines success as that certain measure or degree of achievement or accomplishment or as a desirable and favorable outcome.

One should make a decision on what one truly wants that can offer a desirable or favorable outcome that must be in each aspect of one’s life. To accomplish success, one has to set realistic goals for his life, meaning goals that can be achieved. One should measure success as to how close one comes to accomplishing one’s goals that one has set for himself based on one’s skills and abilities.

Know that one’s “subconscious mind” is a very incredible and powerful tool that one has yet to improve and utilize it wisely to its complete capacity, to accomplish success.

To fully understand how powerful and encouraging your “subconscious mind” can be, you should understand first and recognize that there really is no “coincidence”, that nothing in life occurs just by chance. Meaning, nothing is predestined, that you have the power to control your life, to control your success and your failure.

Events or incidents in life can be maneuvered or controlled to resolve one’s problems. You have the power to change certain aspects of your life that you are not contented with.

Whereas there is no disagreeing to the actuality that one can not at all times acquire what he wants, it is likewise true that one can utilize one’s natural power over events of one’s life and cause things to move on one’s desired direction more “frequently”.

Expectation, belief and desire are three powerful forces that can help one do so. Before anything that one wishes for to occur can happen, one must desire for it to happen, should believe deeply that it will happen and one should expect that it will happen.

The “subconscious mind” generates all things in one’s life that is on the information and messages one sends to it. One is continuously and regularly sending the mind information and messages and most information sent are useless or that they are negative information functioning against you. This is why things never recuperate regardless of your efforts to make it succeed.

It will be truly difficult to follow any success level if you are not specific and clear regarding what you believe is attainable for yourself. It is then extremely significant assess and gauge your actions, thoughts and motives as you partake your daily life. You should gain understanding and knowledge of where you are and what are you doing wrong as well as what you are doing right. Subsequently you should be ready to change for the better when and as it is needed.

Always remember that whatever you display in your beliefs, thoughts and actions are sent to the “subconscious mind”.

So be very careful of your thoughts, beliefs and actions, as they are great influences to your success. Note that if you worry constantly about not acquiring enough finances, then you will really not acquire enough; thinking that you do not have the capability to accomplish your goals, then you will never achieve any; thinking that there not enough open opportunities, then there will never be.

Why? Simply because the “subconscious mind” is constantly working on those information that you have sent and a “negative information” results to nothing but “negative reality”.

When you do accomplish your goal, stop a while and relish that certain satisfaction and pleasure of achieving a goal. Great or small, it is success; a beginning of that life that you want for yourself!

Be Blessed

Your Self-Esteem is Valuable

Take a Stand for Yourself

One of the things that has a significant bearing on a person’s self-esteem is the respect you get from others. The less respect, the lower your self-esteem, the more respect, the higher your self-esteem. One of the ways to start rebuilding your self-esteem is to stand up for yourself.

People will push you around as much as you allow them to. If somebody asks you to do something and you just run off and do it for them, they will expect you to do it every time. This leads to a vicious cycle of them using you for their convenience, and not considering your needs.

An easy test

Next time someone asks you to do something, tell him or her it will cost them money, in advance. Say they want you to pick up their kids from school, tell them you want twenty bucks, and see how they change their mind. If they are willing to pay, collect the money and do the favor, if they are not willing to pay then they were just using you.

Of course, every situation is different, if you are there any way to get your own kids that’s fine, but if your kids are at a different school, or you don’t have kids then they might be trying to use you. This is one thing that can really hurt your self-esteem.

What is being said here is that if they are capable of doing it for themselves, then they should. If a person demands something from you and you jump to do it, you will never get any respect. We are not talking about your boss who is paying you to jump to it, but other people who think they can use you for nothing in return, not even respect.

The first step to taking back your self-esteem

All you have to do is stand up for yourself. Please dear reader understand that you deserve to be treated with respect by everyone. It may shock you to have to say no to someone, or to tell him or her that you will do it only if they pay you. The good news is that it only takes a few times of asserting your rights in order to start gaining respect from them, and restoring your self-esteem.

While it may be hard at times to say no to certain people, you can, you have the right to say no, and the right to agree with their demand but only on your terms. Create a win win situation, you get paid, they get their kids picked up from school

You do not need to, or have to, get angry or aggressive, just be persistent, and assertive when letting others know that they may not walk all over you. Once you have done this a few times, you will start to feel a great new confidence, and this will give you some soaring self-esteem.

There is nothing wrong with you wanting more out of life, and once you get your self-esteem back your life will be a richer and fuller life. Watch out for people who will try to make you feel guilty for being assertive and telling them no. Continue to stand up for yourself. Show others that you deserve respect just as they demand respect.

When they respect you your self-esteem will rise, your confidence will become solid, and your life will be happier.

Be Blessed

The Right Way to Lose Weight

Why is it that people who want to lose weight, or get into shape or both always seem to fail? The answer is not complicated, it is because you secretly like the way you live your current life. Now the solution would be to secretly fool yourself into liking what you want to become and not what you currently are.

Before you start a diet or workout plan, you need to convince yourself that the new way of life is better than the old way of life. To do that you simply need to tell yourself that you do. Have you heard of mind control? Most likely you have, what you want is to control your own mind. Simple; the answer is yes. Easy, surprisingly the answer is also a big yes.

Now you may be wondering how to lose weight by mind control. Let me ask you first; have you been successful losing and keeping off the weight by willpower? Most likely not, otherwise you would not be reading this article. Sure, you have tried diets, eating right, and even some workouts and exercise plans, and ended up right back where you were before you started. This is because your desire to lose weight is not based on the proper mental attitude.

So how do you cultivate the proper mental attitude? Through autosuggestion, a skill you develop to control the mental world that in turn controls the physical world. First, you must write down your new attitude; such as “you like to eat healthy food” use the word “you” instead of the word “I” when talking to yourself as it will sink in much faster. Now repeat that statement to yourself as soon as you wake up, and again every time you think about it, at least 5 times a day.

Then after a week of this, set a start date for when you will start on the eating right regime, this will set your mental world to accept that your physical world is about to change, and will change it to what you have been telling yourself for the last week. Keep repeating your statement every day until your start date. Then on your start date; start.

While you are autosuggesting yourself, do some research, find out what eating right means. Find out what eating right entails; get some details and some information on what healthy eating is and how to do it. Then when your start date comes, you are ready to start and know how to start. Then every time you do not feel like eating right, you can remind yourself by reading your autosuggestion statement.

You will find that when you do this you can change your whole self permanently. You will not fail, you will change and change for the better, you will lose weight, you will eat right, and you will do whatever it is that you have set your mind to.

The Plain Sight Secret of Life

The book “Think and Grow Rich” says that “Doing a thing well is never a trouble” and the famous football coach Knute Rockne said “The whole world loves a winner and has no time for a loser”. Now what do these two sayings have in common? They both are clues about having a successful life. The key that joins them together is that great truth of the human spirit, namely having a dream and not making the mistake of letting temporary defeat mean failure. Something that too many people do is let a minor setback stop them in their tracks and make them accept less than they originally wanted. If you have a minor setback, it is only because you made a minor error take the knowledge you just gained and do it again. Keep doing it again and again, learning from mistakes and making adjustments, and do it until you get it right. Once you can do it right, then do it well, and you will have the success you desire.

There are too many examples of failure all around us, and it may be a major reason that we are not currently happy with our current situation. We see all this failure and so compromise our dreams, and accept less than what we truly desire. We know we can have and be more, yet because we see the examples of failure and mediocrity all around us, we reason that we too must accept less than an excellent life. This is a great lie we have been told, it is a fallacy that we have come to believe because too many other people also believe it. We see many examples of “good enough” and “that’s the way it is” in our everyday life and so, we fall into the trap of letting our ambition die, and getting into the rut of habit, giving up the hope of something better.

There is a way, a better way, to change your life. You are reading this for a reason, and that reason is to give you this spark of hope, this gem of thought, this pearl of wisdom: That you can control your conditions in life, IF you choose to control them.

You do not have to settle for good enough, you do not have to accept temporary defeat as failure; you can rise above the current situation. I am sure you have probably read many lines of psychobabble that tells you that you do things because that was the way you were programmed as a child. While there is some truth to that reasoning, it is more true and definitely far more relevant to know that you have a choice. Yes you saw that correctly; “You Have a Choice” on what you do and how you do it. You are not condemned to a life of lack and poverty anymore than you are condemned to a life of mediocrity.

Why do you want to rise above your current situation? You must do it so that you can be seen by opportunity. If you are part of the crowd, blending in and keeping your head down opportunity will not see you. If on the other hand you are looking for opportunity, then you are standing straight with your head up, and are a bit different from the crowd and opportunity will see you and just as importantly you will see it, and will be willing to take the action to grab the opportunity and run with it.

Now you are probably wondering how do you rise above your current situation especially if you have been accepting mediocrity for years. The answer is easy but the action takes some effort. You need but do everything you do well. Especially at your place of employment, do your work well, and soon you will be recognized as a valuable above average employee, and now you are in a place where opportunity can see you. Continue to do everything you put your hand to well, and you will be amazed at all the good things that come into your life. When this begins to happen, you will regain the spark of hope and ambition. In this way, you will rise above your current situation and become what you want to become, because you can.

Believing That You Can Think and Grow Rich

The book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill states “no more effort is required to aim high in life, to demand abundance and prosperity, than is required to accept misery and poverty”. Think about that for a minute, just know that it is possible for every person to have what they think they deserve, that with the same amount of effort one could be on verge of starvation or wealthy.

What is the main difference between any two people? The answer is belief, no two people in this entire world believe in things the exact same way as another. While there is what we call accepted norms that we all try to teach our young and each other, usually based on our own belief about how things are, and how they are done. The lesson that has been neglected, that we have not been taught and have not taught, is that what we believe is possible, is. That our desire to do something is only limited by our own belief in what we can do.

If we desire something and we find a way to get it, we will repeat the behavior, when we meet with partial success, rather than modifying our approach, we simply do the same thing again. It is like the story of the two children, when one wanted something if it was not immediately provided he would lie down on the floor, kick, and scream until he was either punished or got the thing. Then there was the other child who wanted the same thing and rather than demand it be provided to him immediately would make a plan, go and earn some money and then buy it for himself. Both had a belief about how to satisfy their desire, and in practice, one would be far more successful than the other at achieving the result of obtaining the things they wanted. Can you guess which one?

One had been taught that life is hard and you don’t always get what you want, the other had been taught that you get what you want when you are ready for it. Both believed that they could indeed get things, one was a bit hit and miss the other the thing was guaranteed, just took a while longer. Therefore, it is with us today, you need to ask yourself what is it that you believe you can do. For it is this belief that drives your life that causes everything you have in life to be there. There are countless stories of people in adversity who achieve great things, blind people who become great teachers, deaf people who become great musicians, people with physical handicaps who accomplish amazing feats in sports, and so on and on, if you but look you can find these examples easily. Conversely, you can find similarly handicapped people who accomplish nothing, and never will. The difference is what they have been taught.
You can find the exact same thing with non-handicapped people; there are great achievers who have gone to great wealth, and people who live on the street. Again, the difference is only what they believe they can do, no great mystery, just belief. It is impossible for a man to go to the moon, but if you equip that man with a space suit and a space ship, now that man can go to the moon. If you can’t see to accomplish something by the direct route, such as a man jumping high enough to land on the moon, then come up with a solution to the problem and invent the spaceship. Where there is a will, there is a way.

You need to examine your beliefs, and in the words of Henry Ford; “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right”. Change your belief to be; There is no such thing as impossible, and accept no such reality as failure.

The Thinking of Think and Grow Rich

Think and Grow Rich Secrets... Click Here!

In the book Think and Grow Rich, one of the aspects to the formula is to think. While that may seem to state the obvious, and it is, there is a method of thinking that will bring about the results you desire to create your riches.

For you must comprehend that thoughts are things. They are not just simple flights of expendable material; they are tangible working things that are created by you. They are energy that you have shaped into a thing called thought. The thoughts you have go out into the universe and cause things to happen.

Weak thoughts such as passing daydreams may not cause much to occur, but strong thoughts that are reinforced through repetition and emotion will go and bring back much. These strong thoughts will cause the universe to react and produce. Are you beginning to see the power of the statement “think and grow rich”?

When you mix thoughts with desire, definiteness of purpose, persistence, and gratitude, those thoughts will cause the creation of your riches. To simply say a thought will cause it to start an action, to repeatedly say it, and then think it consistently will cause the thought to grow and become powerful, this is turn will cause you to create what you have and are thinking.

This concept of think and grow rich is truly amazing. If only we had realized the power of our thoughts when we were younger, what amazing things we could have accomplished. When you have that flash of thought, most of us dismiss it as fantasy, but if you were to take that thought and add desire, that simple thought begins to grow in power. Once the thought continues to exist it cannot stay inactive, it must move and create. When you add in a purpose the thought becomes unstoppable, it is now only for you to steer it for it has begun to move and will go on until it has accomplished. Said another way, that thought will continue until it has turned intangible into tangible, fantasy into reality, fiction into truth, and nothing into something.

To think and grow rich is such a simple statement but such a powerful skill to master. To learn how to think, and then to think so that you grow rich is just such a beautiful thing that once you “get it” your life will continue to improve daily. You will have a life that will be full and rewarding, filled with peace and happiness. Once you begin to think correctly you will be the master of your own destiny, and the world will be at your command.
The book Think and Grow Rich is such a powerful book, it has to be the greatest book on the planet. For the book reveals in every chapter the secret for obtaining your desires, your riches. For what good does it do you to have a fancy car when you do not have a driver’s license? You need to master the art of Think and Grow Rich.

What Is Covert Hypnosis Exactly?

What Is Covert Hypnosis Exactly?
Just a quick thing on Hypnosis Get it HERE

You may be familiar with the hypnosis you see on TV or at stage shows. You know the kind, the kind where a hypnotist is able to have people sit in a chair and then supposedly turn them into chickens, and things like that.

You may often ask yourself “Is that real, or is the hypnotist just using actors?”. The answer is of course, that yes, it is very real, however you may be surprised to know that there is a much more advanced form of hypnosis than that, a kind of hypnosis that can be used in your day to day life on people without them being aware of it. And this field is known as “covert hypnosis”.

It makes sense, if a hypnotist can hypnotize people at a stage show, then surely he'd be able to do it off the stage as well, when people aren't aware of it? The answer is of course that yes, a trained hypnotist can do just that. You see, entertainment hypnosis is the only form of hypnosis that you're exposed to. Covert hypnosis, because its discreet, is a type of hypnosis you will never heard about, nor will you see it on TV. Covert hypnosis is of course, by its very nature... covert.

Get it HERE

It's the type of hypnosis that politicians, faith healers, mentalists, illusionists, even psychics use in order to hypnotize many people into doing things, or thinking certain things. Covert hypnosis is used by professionals each and every day to make people fall in love, to bring them into false belief systems, to make them part with their money, and many other powerful things.

The powers of covert hypnosis are practically endless, and once this field is mastered, many things become possible. But how does it work exactly? Covert hypnosis works by influencing a person's subconscious outside of the person's conscious awareness. Whenever we're consciously aware of a suggestion, we cannot be hypnotized by it. This is because our consciousness contains a critical part to it, which constantly analyzes everything that passes through it.

If our conscious were to come across any information, or suggestion that it didn't agree with, then it would immediately reject it. For example, if I told you right now “you will raise your right hand”, you most likely wouldn't, since I'm giving your consciousness an instruction. If however I plant subtle suggestions within your mind, and then trigger these suggestions subconsciously, without you being consciously aware of it, then it becomes quite possible for me to make you raise your right hand.

As you can see, by its very nature, covert hypnosis isn't obvious. The only real way to tell if someone is using covert hypnosis on you is to learn the field yourself.

Manifesting Success

My Friends, a tough lesson today, check this out-->Use Your Mind

Manifesting success is another way to bring into your life happiness. But what is manifesting success? Manifesting success is not limited to just monetary and material possessions. Success is a happy and fulfilling life. Success can be found everywhere, it is all around us and plentiful. You can see examples of it everywhere in countless forms in life as well as nature.

We are all creators of our own existence. We have manifested the life we have right now. The universe, or Great Spirit, craves to continuously express itself by giving us all that we ask for and desire. We can and do receive the things we deserve. Through this power we demonstrate success, and we can show that we have brought upon ourselves what our current situation is in life. Life, and its meaning shows that we are naturally wanting to grow, to develop, and become bigger and stronger.

Unfortunately, most of us have never been educated on manifesting, and see that this longing and natural inclination for growth has been repressed. The main cause of this undesirable life is negative thinking, and not having enough faith in ones self.

Every person has dual natures: One wants the self to move forward while the other wants to pull back. The old Indian fable where each has a good wolf and a bad wolf inside always fighting for control of the whole, the one who wins is the one you feed. In other words the one nature that one concentrates and cultivates ultimately determines what one is at the end.

Your “will” resolves the issue alone. An individual by use of the “will” can change the world and accomplish miracles. To do this we must have an open mind, we must be receptive to new ideas and practices. To do what we have been doing will only result in the same stuff over and to get something different you must do something different.

A person who has a closed mind accepts as truth a concept without much concern for evidence. They might have reached their concept simply because they were told it was so. They did not bother to look for supporting material or evidence. As a result, when they are presented with a new concept, even with supporting evidence that is contradictory to their current belief, they immediately dismiss it without consideration.

Conversely a person with an open mind considers first the evidence that proves or disapproves the interpretation of the concept before reaching any conclusion. They do not just gather information; rather they weigh what they have learned and work towards reaching a conclusion based on facts and evidence.

This open mind will allow you to attract opportunities and continue to attract opportunities, regardless of how grand or how small they first appear. An open mind is open to all possibilities. This one mind set will allow you to manifest exactly what you desire when you so choose.

Directly opposite is the closed mind, and this will cause a person to be stubborn, wanting things and situations to manifest immediately, and wanting it as exactly as demanded, not willing to accept or try something else in its place, even if it would have been better, even when that which they envisioned can not be accomplished or reached.

When you close your mind, you are in essence telling your higher self, the “powers of the universe” that you are not eager to mature and encounter new things, so as a result there will be no progress, no transformation, and your own life will never have a chance to improve.

A bit from the book “Think and Grow Rich” says that whatever the mind can envision, the mind can create. What you can imagine, believe, and think is conveyed to the subconscious that then works along with the universal forces and establishes your reality based on the visualization of the conscious mind.

You must keep in mind though, that it is not sufficient to merely imagine a thing and then and hope it materializes out of thin air. You will reap what you sow, and this means that you must first put in some effort, and work, not just wishing. That’s right, I said the word “work”, this should clue you in that you will need to expend time and effort in exchange for your desires. For example a couch potato will never win a marathon, unless they first spend the time and effort to train, of course then they would no longer be a couch potato as they are training for a marathon. So to make your dreams come true requires a bit of effort on your part.

You can achieve anything once you open up your mind to manifesting success, and of course get rid of those negative thoughts. What your life is right now and what the present circumstances you have at the moment does not really matter, because once you truly decide to change, and begin to think with noble intentions, your life begins to change direction and many opportunities will find you.

Thoughts hold great power. Be conscious of the thoughts that comes into your mind; let the positive in, and above all never entertain the negative. Open up your mind to possibilities and never be afraid to try; if you fail, take it as an occasion that you have learned from failing, and always try again until you manifest success.

In conclusion of today’s lesson; focus on possibilities, rather than limitations, and expand your thoughts to what it is that you believe, and with a little effort you can manifest success into your life, and once this process has started you will have a happier life.

Taking Action

As reported on the blog http://gentlyhewstone.wordpress.com/2010/05/25/spring-self-improvement-report/

Last year, I started breaking down my list of lifetime goals into smaller steps and making those my resolutions. Instead of just starting at New Year’s, though, I split the calendar up into the three major divisions that my life as a father and teacher naturally fall into: a Spring semester, summer, and a Fall semester.

It is interesting to see that a person actually wrote out their goals and then scheduled them.

Something I have been trying to teach people for a while, that is to write dowwn your goals and then take action. Use this as an example for your own life, write it and take action.

How to Realize Your Dreams

Dreams come true through action, and the best action is to set and achieve goals. Realizing your goals is important; as you realize your goals you will find relief from many of the problems that seem to plague you. But first you must set a goal, then plans and actions will follow. With the following of plans and actions come achievement, success, and accomplishment.

Self Realization is an understanding of your direction in life. If you understand your direction, you will see what you must do to achieve your goals. When you reach a goal, you get a realization, this act of achievement makes you feel fulfilled and complete. Even if only for a few hours, but it still feels good.

Goals are an essential part of life. If a person does not have goals, they often feel a lack of purpose. Wondering what the purpose of life is. The real meaning of life is growth. When something is growing it is alive. For us humans we stop physically growing around the age of 21, so after that milestone we can only continue to grow mentally, spiritually, and psychologically. To keep growing we must have a purpose, whether we invent one or discover one. Having a purpose in life provides principals, ideas, motivation, reason, and a reason to live. If you have purpose, you feel competent, and assured of your self. This takes you to your goals since you are focused on your objectives in life.

The most important way to realize your goals is to setup short-term goals that work toward long-term goals. For instance, a short-term goal is to walk around the block without stopping, then to run around the block without stopping, then increase the distance every time a goal is reached until the ultimate goal of running a marathon is accomplished. If you start by trying to run the marathon you will fail, but by starting with smaller goals you will succeed. Therefore, you can understand that it is important to set small goals you can reach and all the small goals add up to achieve the ultimate goal. Giving up will only, cause you stress, if the goal seems unreachable break it down into smaller goals. If you set goals out of your reach, it is likely you will never reach the end of the race. Setting goals out of your reach will also frustrate you, and as you continue to fail you will loose self-esteem, self-control, and confidence.

Realization of your self is the ability to recognize your own potentials and abilities. The realization of self will bring you fulfillment. When a person feels fulfilled they often have a life with more success and achievement. The overall point is to set small goals so that you can eventually achieve your ultimate goal.

As for the long-term goals, this is what will determine your life. When one is reached, enjoy the feeling, and then set another. You must keep growing to keep living. As you now realize, it takes effort to reach goals, it takes work and perseverance to achieve success. However, it is you, and only you, that must take the action to make it happen.

its "high-tech" mentality, it's real easy to overlook some
tried-and-true "low-tech" sources of fast jobs...

Here are three of the best:

Fast Job Source #1 - People You Know

I've heard that as many as 80% of all jobs are obtained
through other people, not advertising. Based on the people I
know who have jobs, I'd have to say that number is fairly
accurate, if not a tad on the low side. That being the case,
if you're looking to get a job fast, your single, number one
best job source is the people you know.

Therefore, the most efficient and effective thing you can do
to get a job fast is to call everyone you know and I do mean
*everyone* - friends, relatives, neighbors, acquaintances,
people you know from clubs and organizations, former co-
workers, and yes, even former employers (assuming you left
them on good terms) - to let them know you're seeking
employment, ask them if they know of anyone hiring, and, if
they don't, if they'd be willing to ask around for you
(don't forget to follow-up with them if they say yes).

Fast Job Source #2 - Newspapers

Believe it or not, there are many small business owners, the
largest creators of jobs there are, who can barely turn on a
computer, let alone post a job listing online. Thus, they
still rely on good old-fashioned newspapers to advertise job
openings.

The employment or "help wanted" section of the good old
Sunday newspaper is still one of the best sources of job
openings there is, but don't ignore the daily, weekly,
monthly, and even the "shopper" type papers as they're often
equally as good, sometimes even better, sources.

Fast Job Source #3 - Signs

Just the other day, I was talking with a gal who told me, "I
can't find a job anywhere, no one's hiring." "Do you ever go
to __________?" I asked her. "Yea, I go there every
morning," she said. "What about __________?" I asked. "I'm
in there once or twice a week," she replied.

"Well," I told her, "both of them have great big signs on
their doors that read *Now Hiring*."

Her somewhat sheepish reply?

"Oh, I didn't see them."

Why didn't she see them, you ask?

Simple...

She wasn't looking for them. :-)

My advice?

Don't let that be you!

Many small businesses, again the largest creators of jobs
there are, never go beyond word-of-mouth, newspaper ads,
and/or "help wanted" signs to get all the help they need.
Therefore, you'd be foolish to overlook these sources of
fast jobs.

Thinking - The Great Secret of Success

We must first think in terms of success before we can manifest success. To build a consciousness of success we must first think. Today’s lesson is all about the effort to impress upon you the fact that all achievement begins with thought. Knowing that all things proceed from thought is not enough; we should learn how to build upon that to create a success consciousness.

There are many successful people in this world, some great some small, but all are successful. These people did not simply wake up one morning and find their world had changed; no they followed a pattern and created their world to their liking. For an example a world famous chef creates a fabulous dish of excellent taste, well anyone can emulate that meal by simply following a recipe. So it is with our life, we can find someone who has done it before and follow their example and achieve the same results. You find that, by carefully following the instructions, that there is no mystery at all. When you have a genuine success consciousness it does not mean that you might succeed; it is a guaranteed definite promise of success.

To have and possess a success consciousness is the master key to this life; it is holding that state of mind so that you cannot see yourself as anything but a success. How this must be emphasized, read it again, write it on the wall in front of you, make a poster, and remember this! Know it to be true, because it is true, and it will become a force that causes you to be and do as you will.

What about those large projects, can you accomplish them? As the old proverb says; “you eat an elephant one bite at a time”. You can accomplish those huge tasks by breaking them into smaller tasks and then doing one task at a time. Can you physically get to the top of a stair case? When you are at the bottom looking up, it appears to be a daunting accomplishment, but you can get to the top. Not in a single action, you have to take one step at a time and soon enough you are at the top. The same principle applies to everything, can you climb a mountain? Yes one step at a time. Can you build an empire? Yes, one step at a time.

Let us further reinforce this point with an example. A friend of my daughter wanted to make a wooden sword, so as a gift I procured a piece of wood for him. However he had no knowledge of the use of tools or woodworking, and so the board sat in my shed and took up space. I reminded him of the wood, yet nothing was being done with it, until I helped him. I showed him how to make a cut with a saw, and asked him if he could do that, and he of course said yes. Then I showed him how to use a jig saw, and asked him if he could do it, and he said yes, then I showed him how to use a plane and a sander and he again said he could do that. So with a little coaching, we spent an afternoon in the yard and when he was done he had a wooden sword. He has now gone on to making fancier designs and finishes, and might even start his own flea market stand selling his handy work to offset the cost of all the tools he has since bought.

What he was not seeing was the process of turning a plain piece of wood into an object he desired. He did not know the steps required going from a board to a sword, but once he was shown he soon became very good at this hobby and made it a craft that soon may support him. He developed a success consciousness that he could turn an ordinary board into something that he desired.

Having a success consciousness will lead you to success in any direction you choose. If your desire is the building of a grand estate or a financial empire, a success consciousness will lead you exactly there. You must simply think of it the follow the steps to accomplish it. So what is the formula for building a success consciousness?

Because you need to know this I will give it to you, step by step. Know that anything accomplished by another can be accomplished by you. You have heard of many other people, who have gone from rags to riches, you have probably read about many a great accomplishment by seemingly ordinary people. They did not do anything that you can’t do, all you need is to think it and then do it. There are no barriers to the person man with the “I CAN-I WILL” spirit. You simply create an I CAN awareness, burn those four letters I C A N into your mind, avoid the use of the words hope, wish, and try, and emphasize the word CAN.

Every time you hear of, or view, the achievement of another, instead of quickly thinking “I CAN'T”; know that, if you desire to, you can achieve the same or better. Even though, you may not know how at the time, make the statement “I CAN”. Soon you will find that your mind, instead of being closed with the negative feeling that the task is beyond you, will begin to understand how simple it will be for you to accomplish.

The next step is to create an “I WILL” attitude. As soon as you get an objective which you know will help you, get started on it at once instead of putting it off until tomorrow, which never seems to come. Many people may have an I CAN attitude, but they cannot seem to get started. They have countless reasons why it will be best to start at some later date. This is called procrastination. Perhaps if we understand some of the reasons for procrastination, we will have less reason to procrastinate.

Starting a task requires more effort than to continue. Simply once the task is underway it continues on much more easily than the initial effort. In getting starting you must first think of what you're going to do first, and then how to do it. You must think about the tools and materials you'll need for the job; where they are and how to get them. Still even after these steps are taken, it takes a period of time to get into full swing. This causes people to spend much time in thinking about the task before getting started. This thinking stage should last for minutes, hours, or even a day or two. Procrastination kicks in when the thinking causes the days to become weeks and sometimes extend into months, or years.

Since time marches on, it is better to dwell on the time of completion instead of the time of beginning. This way, your mind will think of the happy ending, instead of the laborious beginning. Use this principle in connection with every task you put your hand to. Think of how good it will feel to have been done with the labor and enjoy the benefits, and then start the labor and soon you will enjoy the fruits.

The next step is to have a definite objective. It is well to know that you CAN do things and that you WILL do things; but, what is it that you will to do? Know what it is that you desire to accomplish, and make sure that it will make your life more successful, happier, and healthier. Then you will be ready for the next step. While this step seems a bit simple, it strangely is the one that most people have trouble with. So start small, and work big. If you desire to have a better color in your kitchen decide the color, buy the paint and the brushes and get to work, soon you will have your kitchen in your favorite color and will be happy. Decide what you want to happen, and then make it happen.

Now this next step is one you must pay attention to. Develop a “Do it now” attitude. After your objective has been examined and analyzed, and you find that you CAN do it, and WILL do it, apply your “Do it now” attitude; and DO it!

Once you have done these steps you now have a success consciousness. You will rejoice in the fact that you are the master of your circumstances; that they are not the master of you. If you are not happy with your life as it is, you now know that it is easily within your power to change it; to be and do as you will.

When a person starts anything with a success consciousness, they are guided to think the thoughts and do the things which will bring success. When they are prompted by mere wishing, they do the things which bring failure. Wishing is negative. We do not wish for the things we know we can get. Do you wish for a glass of water when you know that a simple trip to the faucet with a cup will fulfill that need? No you go and get it, so it is with all other things, if you wish for it and do nothing you fail, but if you know you can have it and go get it you will be satisfied.

To those who know anything at all about the workings of the mind, you are what you think. This is no mystery; if you hold a thought to the effect that a certain task will be difficult, your mind accepts the thought as an instruction and actually makes the task difficult. If, on the other hand, you enjoy a certain job and know that it will prove to be easy for you, your mind will accept that thought as an instruction, and will guide you in doing your work quickly and well.

Isn't it now quite clear to you that you are what you think you are; and that if you have not been getting as much out of life as you might have wished for, there is no one to blame except yourself? What would you think of a person that was starving to death and yet had a kitchen full of food? This question may appear ridiculous, unless you realize that so many people are doing virtually just that. They possess everything they need for health, wealth and happiness, yet without making use of their powers within, they just exist without enjoying the many blessings which could be theirs.

Knowledge is of no value unless you use it. Instead of just agreeing with me, give these ideas a chance to work for you. Practice, practice, and practice some more. Do not approach this with an "I wonder if they will work" attitude. They do work, they work for many others and they will work for you. You can begin developing a success consciousness: You can begin building an awareness that you have talent in any field you so choose.

Before going on with the rest of your day; pause a moment for contemplation. Review what you have read, if the contents do not clearly come back to you, read it again. It would be impossible to place a cash value on what you have just learned. Do not allow yourself to lose a bit of it.

Achievement not Money

Today we will discuss money. We all see every day where people, including some of us, strive so hard for money. We desire money, wish for money, and want more money. If you think about it for just a moment, in all reality what we are really seeking is the end result; what is really desired is what money obtains for us; mainly food, clothes, shelter, and soon.

We seem to look at money as something real. We take a paper bill and hold it in our hands and feel we have something. In reality, as far as its stable value is concerned, a piece of money is as flexible as a rubber band. This applies to the purchase of everything. The worth of your money depends entirely upon the value which is placed on the commodity you use it to buy. For example a few years ago you could buy milk for about a dollar a gallon, now it is about four dollars a gallon, so your dollar that used to buy a whole gallon, now only buys a quart.

Money is just a myth, to illustrate this myth, let us use this simple example: There were ten people in a room and no one had any money except one person, and he had only $1. Another man in the room has a pocket knife he is willing to sell to for $1, and so this man buys it, giving his dollar to the other man. Now a third man has a book, so the second man buys it, giving his dollar to the third man. This goes on until finally the tenth man has the dollar, and even he does not keep it. He buys something from the first man for a dollar. In this room, ten dollars worth of transactions have taken place with only one dollar in cash.

It is not the intention of this treatise to enter into a discussion of economics; this is only to make a point regarding money. Hopefully you have followed the reasoning and you will agree that money is not a material thing at all, but it is simply a means of exchange. The only thing money ever really pays for is labor.

Consider, for example a house: Think of the materials which enters into its manufacture. The wood, nails, windows, carpet, tile, brick, and so on. You may very well reason that all of these things cost money. Actually the fact of the matter is that all of the raw materials therein contained were given to us by Mother Nature without cost. The metal used to make the nails, the wood planks came from trees, the glass made from fine sand, the carpet made from fibers, and many other materials were first embedded in Mother Earth. Nature did not put a price on the metal-bearing ore. A cost came into the picture to compensate the lumber jacks who extracted the trees from the forest, and to lumber mill that sawed the trees into boards. And all the other businesses that created a usable end product that we desire.

This same condition holds true with all of the other elements entering into the building of the house: the carpenters, electricians, plumbers etc who assemble all these materials into a desirable dwelling, etc… These all use the materials to transform them into further product that we will use.

The same thinking goes for our food we buy, we agree that what we pay for corn and potatoes, and so on. However money is not paid for the products themselves, but for the labor involved in growing and delivering the said commodities to our table.

We all can now reach the conclusion that the only thing we buy with money; is labor. Do not become discouraged, this information is being given for a simple purpose which you will soon understand. In fact, what you are now learning will help to make it much easier for you to gain what you really want in life.

Now we must discuss a bit about ownership. Most of us hold a great misconception regarding ownership. It is natural for us to say: "I own this," or "I own that." in reality, none of us owns anything. You might buy a house and proudly proclaim: "I own this house." What we fail to realize is that it is only yours to use as long as you pay the taxes and upkeep on it. Fail to pay taxes and it will be taken from you, fail to pay for upkeep and soon it rots away from under you. That car you drive may be fully paid for, but it is only yours to use as long as you pay the license fee.

Among those items which you consider as your possessions, none of them is permanently yours. In this life we own nothing, we have the use of various items as long as we pay our taxes and care for them.
So let us review what have we learned so far, and what good will this knowledge do us. We have learned that money buys nothing but labor and that in this life we own nothing, but merely have the use of material things. In fact, we do not even own our bodies. They are loaned to us and how long we keep them depends upon the care we give them.

So you now know that money is merely a means to an end and not the end. Money was and is an established and convenient means for barter. Realize this then it will be easier for you to gain a broader perspective on the many facets of life. A person, who works at a job, in reality, is not working for money which they receive on pay day. No, in actuality one is working for food, clothes and shelter. The money provides a handy means of evaluating the value of your work and allows you to trade your labor for commodities and services.

So the question arises; what do you desire to accomplish? If you are thinking in terms of having dollars, you are thinking incorrectly. Keeping your mind on what you want will put the forces of the universe to work for you and you will have what you will.

Here is the strange phenomenon regarding the attainment of objectives: When your goal is money only, you will not be successful; as you are in reality only trying to acquire an exchange. For example; you can not have a million dollars in the bank and get out of the rain and cold. As long as that money sits in the bank you will remain outside in the rain, wet and cold. You can be dry and warm only if you exchange that money for shelter and heat. A real objective would be to be warm and dry, and a way to do so is to have a home of your own. So, if you become excited about a home, one which will make you happy, your subconscious mind, with its connection to the universal will show you the way to obtain that which is necessary to secure the home.

The greatest satisfaction in life is achievement. Think of great men and women we know about, we know them for their achievements, not for the dollars they accumulated. For example we do not think of Henry Ford in terms of wealth; rather we know him as the man who provided the world with low cost transportation, and the production line. He achieved success by providing a service to the world, not by trying to accumulate money.

So it is with you, start thinking in terms of achievement, not money. Think of the things you desire, dwell on the goals you wish to achieve and soon you will have the achievement, and with it will come all the things you desire, including money.

With Determination and Will, all things are Possible

There it was, just lying on the ground, what looked like a discarded gum wrapper. Since I wasn’t too busy and being of good conscience, I walked over to pick it up to place in a trash can latter, following my motive of always leaving a place better than I found it. Upon examination it turned out the object was not trash, but to my surprise was a fine little medallion of an odd shape. Hundreds of people had seen it, thought they knew all about it, or what it was, and then walked on by, little suspecting its real value.

There is a spiritual parallel for this incident; almost everybody in the hurrying of life has glanced at an object, yet no one examined it, until someone with a spirit of curiosity, or inspired by quaint self imposed duty, pauses, picks it up, looks at it, and finds that it is far more than it appeared to be. Consequently, it is proven that by special attention to a subject, very remarkable results may be produced.

Learning to control or strengthen the Will is closely allied to developing Attention and Interest. Let us consider together the popular and common erroneous belief that everyone has an allotted amount of ability as it has pleased Nature to give; the same being true as regards Memory, Will, the Constructive or Artistic abilities, and so on. This erroneous belief has stifled many of us all our lives. The truth of the matter is the opposite of that belief; with attention and experience all our abilities may be increased infinitely, there is no thing that we can not do should we make up our minds to do it.

All of us know, or know of, ignorant people who complacently explain their indifference on the ground that they have no ability in such areas, as if ability were a special heaven sent gift. No one can be expected to take an interest and at once have ability, but where earnest and serious Attention has been directed to it; Interest soon follows. That's why it happens that those who deliberately train themselves in any given endeavor are invariably rewarded by acquiring skill and ability. The saying that “perseverance subdues impatience” sounds like a dull common place saying, but it is a silver medallion disguised as a discarded gum wrapper; there is a deep meaning hidden in plain sight. Your will, if it be allowed, with a little intelligence, forethought, and determination towards a purpose, can be developed into a keen mechanism by which you can control your very destiny.

Attention can be spontaneous, deliberate, or reflexive. The voluntary choosing or fixing of our mind upon an idea, image, or subject is deliberate, the noticing of something that we previously ignored is spontaneous attention, and when the idea for some reason impresses itself upon us then we have reflex attention.

Determination is a simple thought; if before we begin anything, we pause, and resolve that we will be meticulous, and not quit until we have mastered it: For strange as it may seem, doing this actually has a positive, and very often a remarkable result. This Forethought is far more easily awakened, or exerted, than Attention itself, but it prepares it, just as Attention prepares Interest.

Involuntary memory, or reflex attention excited by different causes often compels us to attend to subjects whether we will to or not. Everyone has been haunted with images or ideas even unto being tormented by them; like a tune that randomly appears in your head and you hear it all day long. That even a person of plain common-sense and strong will may be driven to sleeplessness, by some trifle, some mere jingle or rhyme, or idle memory, infers that we have within us a great power which must in some way be capable of being led to great or useful results by some process.

This process is so simple you will be stunned into angry stupor as to it ease and simplicity. Please sit down… This great spiritual and sacred hidden secret is repetition. That’s it, one word, which in this context means so much.

It is true that an image or idea may be often repeated to minds which do not think or reflect, without awakening attention; in a vast majority of cases forms a nucleus, or beginning, which may be easily increased to an indefinite extent. This was proven with subliminal advertising. Conversely a little exercise of the Will suffices in most cases to fix the attention on a subject, but in many cases Attention is attracted with little or no voluntary effort. On this fact is based the truth that when or where it is desired, Attention and Interest may be awakened with great ease by a simple process. Speaking of repetition; it must be mentioned that a vast proportion of senseless superstitions, traditions or customs, which no one can explain, originate in this way, and that in fact what we call habit or second nature is only another form or result of REPEATED involuntary attention and the unconscious giving of a place in the memory that which we have heard repeatedly.

A deliberate reflection on this can make it clear that if anyone really desires to take an interest in any subject, it is possible to do so, because Nature has placed in every mind a vast capacity for attention on ideas, and where the Attention is fixed, Interest, by an equally easy process, may always be induced to follow.

The best way to begin is to carefully read the simplest and easiest book of it which we can obtain, in order that we may know just exactly what it is, or its definition. With this done, at once, while the memory is fresh in mind, follow it up by other research or reading, observations or inquiries, on the same subject, for three books read together on anything will profit more than a hundred on differing subjects. In fact, a great deal of broken, irregular or disjointed reading is almost worse than none at all, as a little coherent study is more advantageous than a lot of disconnected fact gathering.

Many people would very willingly take an interest in many subjects if they knew how. Sadly, many put no faith in easy manuals to begin with, believing, in their ignorance, that a mere collection of rudiments cannot have much in it. We are all surrounded by thousands of subjects in which we might all take an interest, and do good works, if we would, select one, give it a little attention, and proceed to learn it. As it is, in general society the man or woman who has any special pursuit, accomplishment, or real interest for leisure hours, beyond idle gossip and empty time-killing, is a great exception. Nevertheless in perhaps a majority of cases there is a sincere desire to do something, which is killed by simple ignorance of the fact that with very little trouble, interest in something is within the easy reach of all.

If you wish to learn how to develop your Will and strengthen it, it is absolutely necessary to take an interest in it. Consider how this art of acquiring attention and interest has been obscured in most minds, and the difficulties of acquiring it, highly exaggerated. It is an easy matter to create a strong will, or strengthen that which we have, to a marvelous extent, yet you must first give your Attention firmly and fixedly to your intent or want, it is absolutely necessary that you first know in your own mind what you mean to do, and meditate upon it, not dreamily, or vaguely, but earnestly; and this guarantees your certain success.

Additionally if beginners, before taking up any pursuit, would calmly and deliberately consider the virtues of Attention and Interest, and how to acquire them, or bring them to bear on the proposed study or work, there would in truth be few failures in life if those who undertake anything first gave a long and careful consideration, some observation into detail, and, in fact, becoming familiar with the idea, and not trusting to acquire interest and perseverance in the future. Nine-tenths of the difficulty and doubt or fear which beginners experience, and which often inspires them to retreat, is due entirely to not having begun by training the Attention or awakened an Interest in the subject.

It is often that the reason for failure, or the ultimate failing to attain success, is simply because the people who seek it, are lacking in deep reflection, application, or earnest attention. They are quick to take hold, and as quick to let go. Therefore, they are the least likely to seriously reflect beforehand on the necessity of preparing the mind to patience and application.

Now it seems a simple thing to say, and so it is all the harder to understand, that before going to work at anything which will require perseverance and effort we can facilitate the result amazingly by thinking over and anticipating it. Let it suffice to say that earnest forethought, and the more of it the better, bestowed on that which we intend to undertake, is a thing rarely attempted, but which, when given, eases every burden and lightens every toil.

Plain forethought repeated is the easiest of mental efforts; use it to your benefit as often as you can.

Self Confidence

Self confidence is an attitude; an attitude that people develop that is characterized by a positive belief in one’s ability to take control of one's life and of one's plans. People who are self confident are those who acknowledge their capacity to do something and then proceed to do it. They do not rely on the permission or approval of other people in order to affirm their existence. It is enough that they know they have the capacity and the potential to do something, and have the guts to do it.

People who are self confident take advantage of opportunities that come their way, no matter what others may say. Lack of self confidence is not relative to a person's abilities; in fact, there are people who are extremely talented and able but they lack self confidence and so fail to use or show these abilities.

Developing self confidence is not easy; especially if you do not think highly of yourself. If you want to be self confident, avoid things that will discourage you from gaining confidence. This is easier said than done. Start with little things like not dwelling on past mistakes or failures. Whenever you are reminded of a past failure instead think of a successful moment. We all have some success in our lives, like a healthy pet, great cooking skill, a clean house, and so on. Things that you know you have done correctly. By thinking only of your victories and learning from your defeats, you will have more faith in yourself, and eventually, more confidence.

The main cause of poor self confidence and thus low self esteem is: Fear. Fear is the Natural Enemy of Self Confidence and self esteem. Self-Confidence is generally described as the ability of an individual to have faith and believe in their own abilities. According to psychiatrists when one has self-confidence it normally results in having great self-esteem. Self-esteem is defined as the “worth” that one can place on them selves. It is this measurement, of one’s own value as a person, which is proportional to their behavior. In addition, it is referred to as the respect and adoration in which one holds their self based on ones belief of what and who they are as a human being. This greatly affects one’s feelings about ones self, about ones life, about ones relationships, and eventually determines their actions on how one accomplishes things.

Ignorance is the basic and the prime cause of fear. When one is not aware of their “true nature” and the facts needed to make a decision fear develops in the void that is created when one suffers from misinformation or lack of the same. A study showed that when one was convinced or has encountered his indestructible infinite “soul-nature”, then one would never feel fear. However, there are those who cannot or do not accept this, thus they feel separate, vulnerable, susceptible and isolated.

According to studies; fear is man's enemy hindering self confidence. These studies stressed clearly that ‘fear thought” is an illness that can be detected and identified. It largely arises from corrupt mental patterns, wherein the mind is allowed consistently to dwell on doubtful thoughts, inefficiency and failure. This power will become unbearable, when it is freely allowed, affecting your life in virtually every undertaking.

So what do we humans need to do to overcome this fear we hold on to so dearly? We need to investigate, pry, search, study, and learn, all that we can, concerning anything we dare to set our hands to. If we think we might want to do something we should learn about it and then proceed as we learn to accomplish that which we have decided to do. Must we learn all there is to know before we proceed? Of course not, but we must learn enough to get started and to make intelligent choices, either by seeking advice and help, or searching in written tomes, we must know enough to get started correctly.

Remember this; self-confidence is developed, not inherited. The ignorance that causes fear can be overcome, and when that shadowy presence of fear is dissolved by the light of knowledge you can be and do anything you will to.

The Laws of Life

There are a few things that we will discuss today, let us start with all the “Universal” laws. These are the main laws and there are many corollary laws and rules that go with them. We will not worry too much about all the corollary laws as they are indeed fascinating the study of them would distract from learning about the main Laws. Once you become aware of them and learn to use them then you will begin to “pull the levers” of your own life.

The first one is The Law of Vibration, everything is a vibration, and we are all connected through vibration. Like drops of water that fill the oceans, each drop is individual, but together they fill the lakes, rivers, and oceans. So we too are connected to everything, together all things make the universe that we see, hear, touch, taste and smell. Not to get too far off the subject, but smaller than sub-atomic molecules are quarks. Quarks are pure energy and are a vibrational wave, until they are observed by humans, then they combine and become solid objects. In short we are all quarks that have become solid objects because we were observed. However let us not bend our minds too much as we have other things to discuss.

The next big Law that seems to be making it to the top of the charts these days is The Law of Attraction. In short, this Law states that like things come together; like attracts like. So the vibrations you send out will attract similar vibrations back to you. Your thoughts are vibrations, your emotions are vibrations, and what you concentrate on, what you think of the most, what you worry about, are the things that will come into your life.

The next one that I think should be the top of the list is The Law of Karma, also known as the law of Cause and Effect. Again I will try to keep it short; this law says that everything you do will have an effect. The best way that it has been said is: What you sow is what you reap. Now you can change the reaping of your crop buy consciously and consistently applying and exerting yourself towards what you do desire, and not on the things you do not desire. However you will still pay the price for your past actions, you will not be able to undo the past, only rectify the present and work towards a better future. For example if you have broken a bone, you will still have to let it heal, and will have to regain the strength you lost. You will not be able to un-break the bone or undo the actions that led up to your bone breaking; you will pay the price of your actions. What you can do is learn from the mistake, and take actions to never repeat the incorrect actions. This Law truly deserves a whole book all to its own, but we are trying to cover the basics here so let us move on to the next Law.

The Law of Gratitude says that you get more of what you are grateful for. The act of being grateful opens up the universal storehouse and brings you more to be grateful about. This Law in entwined with so many other laws that it can not be explained without the other Laws, but it is significant enough that it is its’ own law and not a corollary. Gratitude is an emotion and therefore a vibration and this vibration brings back to you similar vibrations, and causes you to act in a totally different manner than you would if you were having any other emotion. The Law of Gratitude is basically the Law that works with the other Laws bringing them all together.

Next comes the Law of Love; the English language is not expressive enough for this single word, but it is the truth of love, the love of truth, the understanding that we are all the same and we must love each and everything else by viewing them with the truth of love of the truth. This single realization will change your life forever. It is the one thing that divides saints from all others. Those that understand this truth of the love of truth of love, will be able to control their life and influence the lives of everyone they come into contact with, making the world a better place wherever they go. However to avoid getting your mind wrapped around this subject let us move on.

Last but not least, there is The Law of Allowance. This law basically says you are who you are for a reason; you have both a birthright and a destiny to fulfill. You have been given the tools, abilities, strength, and the greatest gift; life. All these are to be used by you responsibly to take responsibility for your own life and to live long and prosper. It is who you are, what you are, and what you believe. With a little knowledge that you turn into wisdom by using the gifts you have been given, you will satisfy the great plan that you were born to accomplish. You will be given the things you require to do the things you are supposed to do. As you progress into fulfilling your destiny these things will simply manifest into your life. Conversely if you are not accomplishing your purpose in the grand design you will receive suffering designed to try to steer you into the correct path.

So there you have it, the shortest lesson on the Laws of Life that I know of. Use this as a starting point to begin to live well, to stop moving through life aimlessly, and to take control of your self. Know that these laws work all the time whether you want them too or not, just like the law of gravity will always be in play, so are these other laws. Fight them if you will, and suffer. Work with them and your life will become your own.

The real purpose of your life is to be happy. It is your happiness that drives you to do what you do. For example: You may think you want money, but what you really want is what the money can do to make you happy. So decide today, right now, what it is that will make you happy, then use the Laws and make it happen.

The Real Life

We all live busy lives, we spend our days doing the things we have been told to do, and have been made to do. We spend so much time on the activities of daily life that we do not take the required time to form in the inner, spiritual, thought life of the ideals and conditions that we would rather have.

In this modern world we live in, we are caught up in the rush and activity of our daily life, we are running hither and thither, with no center, no foundation upon which to stand, nothing to which we can anchor our lives, because we do not take sufficient time to come into the realization of what the center, of what the reality of our lives is.

The result is that we end up living life in a haphazard way, taking it as it comes, not thinking very much about it, only doing what we think is required of us. Then one day we realize, perhaps, pushed by bitter experiences, that we have spent our lives instead of molding them. We come to see that through the agency of our inner forces, we could have had our life exactly as we would have dreamed it. It is our dreams, our aspirations that will give us our ideal life; and it is this ideal life that is the only thoroughly satisfactory life.

If we would take more time from the rush and activity of life, and use it for contemplation, for meditation, for idealization, for becoming acquainted with our real selves, and then go about our work manifesting the powers of our real selves, we would be far better off, because we would be living a more natural, a more normal life. To find one's center, to become centered in the Infinite, is the first great essential of every satisfactory life; and then to go out, thinking, speaking, working, loving, and living, from this center.

There are those who feel they are handicapped by what we term heredity, that because your parents did such and such that you have to do such and such too. You have been falsely led that you will also be the same in character as your parents, that you will have this quirk or that flaw because they did. In a sense you are right; in another sense you are totally wrong. It is the same as the thought which many before us had imbedded in them through the education and training we received as children. Our forbearers often raised us with the information they had, often times not even understanding the why of things, just passing on the do and don’t things they had been taught themselves.

We must now awaken our selves and realize there is no absolute truth of the do and don’t things we were taught. We must now be dealing with the real and essential self, understand that the truth is internal and what we can think, we can do.

This means you; it means me; it means every human currently walking upon this planet. When we realize this fact we see that heredity is a like reed that is easily broken. The life of every person is in their own hands and they can make it exactly what they will to make it. All things that you most fondly dream of are yours, or may become so if you are truly earnest.

So as one rises more and more to their ideal, and grows in inner strength, one becomes an example and an inspiration to all with whom you come in contact; so that through you the weak are encouraged and strengthened; so that those of low ideals and of a low type of life instinctively and inevitably have their ideals raised, and the ideals of no one can be raised without its showing forth in their outer life. As you advance in your grasp upon and understanding of the power and potency of thought forces, you will find that many times through the process of mental suggestion you can be of tremendous aid to one who is weak and struggling, by sending to them now and then, and by continually holding them in, the highest thought, in the thought of the highest strength, that is wisdom and love. The power of thought force is one that has tremendous possibilities for good if we will but study it carefully, understand it fully, and use it rightly.

When the transition we call death takes place, character and self realization are in truth the only things that the soul takes with it. If you develop and nurture these things you will have an abundant life. For when the time of the transition to another form of life comes, you will never be afraid, never fearful, because you know and realize that behind, within, and beyond, are the Infinite wisdom and love; and in this you are eternally centered, and from it you can never be separated.

The Development of Will Power

Only those of us with a strong will that do not surrender or compromise can experience success. Once a person’s will is brought into action every hindrance will be swept aside.

This force called will is indeed mighty when aroused. However one can be easily deceived about their will. You are likely to think that your will is much stronger than it really is. You may say to yourself, “I would go through anything for the sake of the higher life and spiritual illumination.” Yet that is no guarantee, after a few months of monotonous work you may abandon your goal unless you adopt the wise plan of strengthening your will as you move forward.

Let us begin by testing your present strength of will, but don’t be discouraged by the result. Remember that whatever you lack in will power he can be developed by proper effort. To find out whether you really have strength of will you begin by observing to what extent you permit your daily plans to be modified, or changed, by the things that run counter to your will.

Do you hold to your purpose or do you weakly surrender to small obstacles? Do you have the will power to even begin the day as planned? Let us use the example of waking up; the evening before you decide that you will get up at six o’clock the next morning. You know there are certain excellent reasons why you should, and you go to bed. It is positively settled that at exactly six o’clock the day’s program shall begin. Then when the alarm clock rings the next morning you disobey the summons. This will thing involves some bodily discomfort to rise at that hour and you decide that, after all, perhaps you were a bit hasty. So you reconsider the matter and hit the snooze button repeatedly until it is seven.

The hour, of course, is unimportant, but whatever may have been the hour that was previously determined upon; the keeping of that determination is of the greatest importance, and the failure to keep that resolution is evidence of a weak will. Now all this proves that you have very little real will power, for you permit the desire for trifling bodily comfort to set your plans aside. This means you are still a slave to the physical body and weakly permit it to upset your plans.

Real success can come only to those who have steadfast strength of purpose. People who fail to assert the will and bring the body into complete subjection probably don’t realize what a price they pay. Until we voluntarily take the right course we have not escaped the evolutionary necessity of compulsion and may expect sooner rather than later to be thrown into an environment that will apply the stimulus we need to develop our will.

It will be unpleasant while it is occurring, but what better fortune could happen to you than to find yourself in circumstances where poverty or other necessity compels you to subordinate bodily comfort to the reign of the will? Nature provides the lessons we require. We may wisely co-operate with her and escape the sting, but so long as we need the lesson we may be quite sure that it awaits us.

If you are at a lower point in evolution where you do not have the ambition for intellect, culture, fame or wealth, but only the desire for food and shelter, still that primitive desire forces you into action; and while this will power will be evolved only in proportion to the strength of the desire, it must nevertheless grow. Instead of rising at a certain hour because the will decrees it, you may rise only because you know you have to go to work, but you are learning the same lesson; namely the overcoming of the inertia of the physical body, although it is compulsory instead of voluntary.

This is unconscious evolution. It is a long, slow, painful process. It is the only way possible for those who are not wise enough to collaborate with nature in her evolutionary work, and therefore rise above the necessity of compulsion.

So endeavor to be conscious of the need to grow your will. Cheerfully and willingly decide on a thing and then do it, take small steps at first to build up your will to greater levels, and soon you will be experiencing success at all you choose to put your hand to.

You can be; what you will to be.

The Law of Fear and Faith

The Law of Fear and Faith states that one or the other will rule your life depending on the person and their will. Each has the power to dominate, but only one will always be in play at any given time, both cannot exist at the same time.

Fear has a few meanings, the one we are using here is the irrational idea or thought that something will go wrong or be wrong causing bad and undesirable results. This type of fear is also an emotion that in some cases will cause unreasonable behavior or even cause total lack of ability to act. Every person who lives has experienced the emotion of fear.

Fear is our enemy, the fear of failure, the fear of lack, the fear of sickness, and so on. Once fear is released and allowed free reign over the individual their life will simply be dominated by fear. Everything will cause fear and the reason to feel fear will all too readily appear frequently. Allowing fear to enter into your thinking is the same as driving a car at high speed without holding on to the steering wheel; it will end tragically.

Faith also has a few meanings, but the one we are concerned with is the belief that the conclusion is beyond doubt. That something is going to happen and you are assured of the result. To have confidence and belief that events will transpire as planned. Faith is also an emotion, just as strong as fear, but few people have ever experience the emotion of faith.

Faith is our friend, faith is the opposite of fear, and faith is the belief and trust in good while fear is faith in evil. Having faith is that special something that will cause you to be able to do as you will, not as you have to. Faith is your belief in your self, faith in your ability, faith in your friends, faith in your success, faith in your health, and so on. Having faith that you will cause, create, achieve, and become that which you will; is the proper way to live.

Fear and Faith are a choice you must make, when ever you feel the emotion you must choose to continue or change. Worry and confidence are actions based on your choice. Choose fear and you worry, causing more fear and more worry. Choose faith and you have confidence, causing more faith and more confidence. You can only have one or the other ruling your life, choose wisely as indeed your life does depend on it.

So you must make a daily choice, sometimes hourly choice, to have either faith or fear. It is your choice, yours and only yours, to choose your course. Nothing outside of you can cause fear or faith; it is how you react to the situation presented to you.

To suffer fear will result in loss; to suffer faith will result in increase.
