Your Self-Esteem is Valuable

Take a Stand for Yourself

One of the things that has a significant bearing on a person’s self-esteem is the respect you get from others. The less respect, the lower your self-esteem, the more respect, the higher your self-esteem. One of the ways to start rebuilding your self-esteem is to stand up for yourself.

People will push you around as much as you allow them to. If somebody asks you to do something and you just run off and do it for them, they will expect you to do it every time. This leads to a vicious cycle of them using you for their convenience, and not considering your needs.

An easy test

Next time someone asks you to do something, tell him or her it will cost them money, in advance. Say they want you to pick up their kids from school, tell them you want twenty bucks, and see how they change their mind. If they are willing to pay, collect the money and do the favor, if they are not willing to pay then they were just using you.

Of course, every situation is different, if you are there any way to get your own kids that’s fine, but if your kids are at a different school, or you don’t have kids then they might be trying to use you. This is one thing that can really hurt your self-esteem.

What is being said here is that if they are capable of doing it for themselves, then they should. If a person demands something from you and you jump to do it, you will never get any respect. We are not talking about your boss who is paying you to jump to it, but other people who think they can use you for nothing in return, not even respect.

The first step to taking back your self-esteem

All you have to do is stand up for yourself. Please dear reader understand that you deserve to be treated with respect by everyone. It may shock you to have to say no to someone, or to tell him or her that you will do it only if they pay you. The good news is that it only takes a few times of asserting your rights in order to start gaining respect from them, and restoring your self-esteem.

While it may be hard at times to say no to certain people, you can, you have the right to say no, and the right to agree with their demand but only on your terms. Create a win win situation, you get paid, they get their kids picked up from school

You do not need to, or have to, get angry or aggressive, just be persistent, and assertive when letting others know that they may not walk all over you. Once you have done this a few times, you will start to feel a great new confidence, and this will give you some soaring self-esteem.

There is nothing wrong with you wanting more out of life, and once you get your self-esteem back your life will be a richer and fuller life. Watch out for people who will try to make you feel guilty for being assertive and telling them no. Continue to stand up for yourself. Show others that you deserve respect just as they demand respect.

When they respect you your self-esteem will rise, your confidence will become solid, and your life will be happier.

How to Realize Your Dreams

Dreams come true through action, and the best action is to set and achieve goals. Realizing your goals is important; as you realize your goals you will find relief from many of the problems that seem to plague you. But first you must set a goal, then plans and actions will follow. With the following of plans and actions come achievement, success, and accomplishment.

Self Realization is an understanding of your direction in life. If you understand your direction, you will see what you must do to achieve your goals. When you reach a goal, you get a realization, this act of achievement makes you feel fulfilled and complete. Even if only for a few hours, but it still feels good.

Goals are an essential part of life. If a person does not have goals, they often feel a lack of purpose. Wondering what the purpose of life is. The real meaning of life is growth. When something is growing it is alive. For us humans we stop physically growing around the age of 21, so after that milestone we can only continue to grow mentally, spiritually, and psychologically. To keep growing we must have a purpose, whether we invent one or discover one. Having a purpose in life provides principals, ideas, motivation, reason, and a reason to live. If you have purpose, you feel competent, and assured of your self. This takes you to your goals since you are focused on your objectives in life.

The most important way to realize your goals is to setup short-term goals that work toward long-term goals. For instance, a short-term goal is to walk around the block without stopping, then to run around the block without stopping, then increase the distance every time a goal is reached until the ultimate goal of running a marathon is accomplished. If you start by trying to run the marathon you will fail, but by starting with smaller goals you will succeed. Therefore, you can understand that it is important to set small goals you can reach and all the small goals add up to achieve the ultimate goal. Giving up will only, cause you stress, if the goal seems unreachable break it down into smaller goals. If you set goals out of your reach, it is likely you will never reach the end of the race. Setting goals out of your reach will also frustrate you, and as you continue to fail you will loose self-esteem, self-control, and confidence.

Realization of your self is the ability to recognize your own potentials and abilities. The realization of self will bring you fulfillment. When a person feels fulfilled they often have a life with more success and achievement. The overall point is to set small goals so that you can eventually achieve your ultimate goal.

As for the long-term goals, this is what will determine your life. When one is reached, enjoy the feeling, and then set another. You must keep growing to keep living. As you now realize, it takes effort to reach goals, it takes work and perseverance to achieve success. However, it is you, and only you, that must take the action to make it happen.

You Are What You Think

Let us say that in a different way and with some emphasis; “you are WHAT, you THINK you are” this way you can see what is being said. Sometimes I wonder just how many people really understand what that saying means. Today we will discuss this subject to make it a bit clearer to all.

Some of you are probably reacting with a bit of anger and wanting to know if I think that you want to be poor and unhappy. Well, no one wants to be poor and unhappy; but the fact still remains that we are what we think. It is so important that you fully comprehend the significance of this subject that we will cover this in a bit more depth. You are a refection of your thoughts. What you think, is what you reflect, therefore what you think is what you are.

Let us start with an example. If a person says "I am not musical," that person has probably never practiced with an instrument or taken any singing lessons. They say they are not musical, and so they are not. Another example just to make sure; a person who has never worked in a skilled trade will say "I'm not handy with tools," and it is because they have never learned to use them. Both examples show that a person thinks they are not skilled at something and so they are not. This may seem a bit simplistic but we will continue the discussion even further. You are a reflection of your thoughts.

You have heard, no doubt, people say things like; "I'm not artistic" and "I'm not good at writing" from normal looking people, who if they only put forth some effort could accomplish those things. However they have programmed themselves to not be able to do something and they also plainly state it, in short they are what they think. You may have some area that you think you can not happen for you, and you tell people that very thing, well look at this statement: You are what you think you are.

People’s physical bodies do not reflect talent, or the lack of it. In the examples above; is there a physical characteristic that makes a person musical, or able to use tools, or artistic? No: There is no physical mark, gift, growth, look, or any other physical manifestation that gives us the ability to do something. What we must realize is that what we are is a reflection; a refection of the mental image we have of ourselves. Now before I hear a torrent of exceptions, let us understand we are referring to the mentally normal individual. You may think that a person with deformed hands obviously could not excel as a pianist; they hold that because of their physical disability they can not do something. However you have surely heard of the many people with various disabilities overcoming them and achieving their dreams. Like the woman with only one leg who won a dance competition, and a paraplegic writing a novel, and so forth. They had a very obvious disability that should have precluded them from accomplishing what they did, but they did it because they knew they could if they desired and practiced. You can be what you will to be.

When you build a house you first have to think of a design, a layout of where the rooms are, the doors, the windows, one floor or two, garage attached or detached, and so on. Without this design in mind the construction of this house can not proceed. So the first thing you should do is have a plan. Is there a particular skill you desire to acquire, or a different lifestyle, or what ever your hearts desire, you must first decide what your dream is. Some call this setting a goal, or intention, it is still a plan; a plan for action. Once you have decided then you must commit it to paper. Can the contractor build a house while the plans are only in the mind of the architect? The plan must be on paper so that the work of it can proceed. If you can not seem to get around to it, and put your plan on paper, then you have no right to complain that you can’t do something. You can do what you choose to do.

Once you have put the plan on paper, you need to know this; and it is some exceedingly good news: If there is something you have always wanted to do, but felt you couldn't because you are not talented in that area, then all you must to do is to gain an awareness that you can, and you will soon be able to. Let us say you desired to play the flute, so you wrote down your plan as “play the flute”. Well then, is there even a flute in your house? It is kind of hard to practice something if you don’t have one. Do you want to be able to draw fantastic pictures? Are there paper, pens, and pencils readily available for the work? What ever your plan you must now gather the materials needed to build your dream. You will become as you think.

Then you need to learn about the skill you have chosen to develop. Yes people find that word “learn” to be distasteful; associating it with classrooms and going to school, but there are other ways. Let us say you have decided to become a carpenter, but do not have the means to attend trade school. If you wander around your neighborhood you will very well find a person with a shop in his garage. If you offer a trade such a sweeping out the garage in exchange for some training you will find them most agreeable. That person can teach you how to measure, and cut wood, how to use a hammer to pound a nail and so on. Many hardware stores offer free classes on tools, mind you they are trying to sell you a particular tool, but they do teach you how to use it. So if you don’t buy the expensive saw they are selling you have still learned how to use one. (You may come back in the future to buy that saw, and that is the seed they are sowing, but that is a different discussion) This is called sweat equity, exchanging your labor for knowledge. Many of the large chain stores offer free plans to build things, and you can study these to learn how things fit together. The local library has many good books that you can borrow to learn about what things are called. In a very short time you will have discovered enough information without having gone to school that you can show enough knowledge to get hired on as a carpenter’s apprentice. Then shortly after that you will be a carpenter with the tools and skills you need to be able to be a carpenter anytime and anywhere. You have become what you thought you were.

As a pebble dropped in a pond causes the ripples to go to the furthest edge, this thought regarding your plan will affect everything you are and do. Once you have the thought that you can, then you will. It is just that simple. Now here comes the actual hard part; you have to do it. Having a plan and an entire truckload of materials will not get the house built unless there is some work put into it. If you do not apply your knowledge to the task, your skill will not develop. In short; you have to practice. You do not become a concert pianist just because you own a piano; you have to practice, practice, and practice. The cool thing about practice is it becomes easier each time you do it. Soon you will become proficient at it, then skilled, and then finally a master. Keep the though always to the fore and growing and growing until you can not see yourself as anything else but what you have chosen. You will be as you think you will be.

As an example; the successfully skilled people have thoroughly accepted themselves as they are, they give little or no thought as to how they got that way. To the pianist, they do not reminisce about the hours of practice, rather they play great ballads that are pleasing to the ear, and graciously accept compliments. To the artist, they do not dwell on the hundreds of failed drawings and paintings that have since gone to the garbage, rather they gladly accept the money paid for their work, for it to be proudly displayed in a gallery, business or home. They are what they think they are.

Unfortunately in a large majority of cases, we are what we are from childhood influences. Most of the inhibitions and complexes we carry through life were established in our minds when we were children. It is the suggestions which were given to us while we were very young which we carry through life. Those sayings that so many of us heard as youngsters have influenced our lives as that was what we were taught to think. It has been found that most of those people, who go through life as failures, had the failure instinct instilled in their minds when they were children. Many are held back by planted thoughts which they acquire during childhood. For example” "Get away from that, you'll break it. You don't know anything about tools." This is the kid who will grow up saying: "I'm not handy with tools." That person is not handy with them because they were told, early in life that they knew nothing about tools, and believed it. Growing up so as to reflect the thought that they had been given. Countless examples could be given showing why we are as we are; but it boils down to this; a pattern is fixed in our minds to the effect that we are a certain way and from then on we reflect that condition. You are what you think you are.

We must wake up from those planted thoughts and start thinking our own thoughts. Test those old thoughts to see if they serve you and your purpose, if they do not then discard them by replacing them with thoughts of your own. You are not happy, but you are doing what is best. Begging the question: Best for whom? Your life is yours, yours and yours alone to live, you can share it but you can not let someone else live your life for you. You are the one who feels your emotions, so you are the one who must live your life. What you think is what you are. The point is: You can be what you will to be.

Hopefully this discussion has helped you to now understand what is meant by the statement: You Are What You Think You Are. After this you should now understand that, no matter what you have been in the past, you can be anything you want to be, you can do anything you will to do. Just think; think for yourself, and you shall become what you think.

How To Have A Night of Sleep

In our many discussions one thing we have not discussed is ways and means of inducing not just sleep, but restful, peaceful sleep.

Sleeplessness usually results from bad bed habits. Tossing and turning for long periods of time after lying down is frequently psychological than physiological. If, however, you have difficulty in sleeping, you should first go see your doctor to learn whether it is some bodily ailment which is keeping you awake. If it is, be guided by your doctor, if it is not then this discussion will be of excellent use to you.

The thoughts and suggestions given to you from here on out are based upon the assumption that you are in good health. We will not spend be discussing sleep from a psychological standpoint. In fact, you are not interested in knowing what sleep is; you want to learn how to go to sleep and rest peacefully. A fault discovered is half overcome, In other words knowing is half the battle, the other half is action, so, let us begin.

First we will discuss some of the problems common to most people, and the solution. As this will be of limited space we will by necessity have to keep it short.

Worry is probably the Number one enemy of sleep. We lay down and then let our mind worry about things we have no current control over. Things like finances, health, our job, or our businesses. We worry about wars and rumors of wars, natural disasters, the end of the earth, and so on. Another part of this worry causes us to translate sounds into burglars, or just a general “something is wrong” thought. I will wager that if you reflect over the worries which have kept you awake in the past, you'll be able to add many more worries to this list.

Now the Solution to this is to be logical! We have discussed in the past that worry cannot in any way help the condition about which you are worrying. In fact worry often times brings about the very problem you want to avoid. Also a sleepless night will rob you of the energy and stamina which could have helped you to combat the causes of your worry. Most worry is a lie; seldom do the things you worry about materialize.

You will learn that things one worries about are seldom reasons for worry at all. They are challenges; opportunities for us to grow and we can easily find solutions to our problems. So therefore tonight, and every night hereafter, instead of worrying, go to sleep with this thought: When you worry, you are holding mental pictures of things you do not want, instead of things you do want. So, as you go to sleep, visualize the ideal condition you are seeking, the ones you do want, instead of the one you don’t want, and realize that when you are asleep your subconscious mind will work on the problem and present you a solution in the morning.

The next problem is related to worry but is just a little different so as deserve its own mention: Bringing home your work. Many people carry their work to bed with them. For hours they relive the day that just ended; thinking of the things they did do but should not have done; and thinking of the things they did not do but should have done. Then after spending many sleepless hours with the past, they switch to worry about the future.

This solution takes a little different approach. Before going to bed, take a few moments and review the day. Note the word “few” and limit yourself to 30 minutes or less. Have a pad of paper and write down if there is anything not pleasing to you, decide what you will do about it the following day, or sometime in the future. Then say to your self that the job will stay on paper, and you will take the yoke again in the morning, my favorite phrase is “Let the world turn without me tonight” and then go to bed and sleep. If you catch your self trying to think about the past remind yourself that you can not fix, change or undo the past, it is over, you are in bed now, worry about the world tomorrow. Make use of your subconscious mind and permit it to work for you while you sleep. Knowing that a good night's sleep will let you awaken in the morning refreshed and ready to start a day of great accomplishment.

Next is Jealousy: It is pathetic how many hours of sleep the green-eyed monster has taken from men and women. Such hours of sleeplessness are miserable, too. We toss and turn as we imagine our happiness and security being taken away, or our leave us for another. Again this is like worry but needs its own mention.

The solution is Simple. Jealousy usually indicates one of two things: selfishness or inferiority. As you retire at night, realize that refreshing, restful sleep will give you the charm which makes you unafraid of competition. Remember! The more you trust others, the more that trust will be deserved.

Next come a harsh one; Envy. A good number of people, upon hearing of the good fortune of a friend or relative, will stay awake for long periods of time wondering why they never get the breaks. They envy others who have better jobs, better homes, better automobiles, and so on. Envy is negative. To envy someone for a possession indicates that you doubt your own ability to obtain that which you are envying.

Again a simple Solution: Instead of envying others for what they have, understand that you may acquire the same things, a little planning and action can cause you to be able to earn and acquire the things you think you so desperately need, or have better than you originally thought.

The next robber of sleep is the guilty conscience. A guilty conscience does not always indicate that you committed a crime, or a breach of conduct. One's conscience may bother you simply because you may feel that you have been negligent toward those near and dear to you, or if we feel we have been negligent in improving the body, taking care of our self, exercising and eating right, or if we feel we should have done something that we neglected to do. We lay in bed ruminating over the things we did wrong or failed to do. A guilty conscience is caused by something which happened in the past. It is beyond the power of anyone to relive a single day of the past.

The solution to this is simple in theory but hard in practice. Let bygones be bygones and forgive yourself for your mistakes of the past. Forgiveness of ones self is often harder than forgiving others, but you must forgive your self. Learn from your errors and in so doing profit by them, so that you will not make similar mistakes or omissions in the future. Go to bed with the thought that you forgive your self, and will do better in the future. Sometimes it is because we think we are lazy. There is no such thing as actual physical laziness, all laziness is mental. When we do not do what we should, it is because we are not interested in it. Learn to like that which you have to do. Decide you will do it a bit better than it has ever been done before. If laziness has been the cause of your guilt, retire with a promise to yourself that in the future you will find something to like about everything you are supposed to do and that you will take delight in doing it well.

Now comes another giant stealer of sleep: Hatred. In the causes of sleeplessness, it has been noted that one with a heart of hatred never sleeps as well as the one whose mind is at peace. The hater has difficulty in going to sleep and when they do it is a tense sleep more like exhaustion and has little if any benefits of rest. The hater will allow their mind to dwell upon the perceived injustice, the wrong that the object of the hate represents. Hate is a poison and will destroy your life faster and surer than the abuse of drugs or alcohol. Hate is like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies. Hate is unreasonable and causes many more problems than it is worth. A sure way to destroy all that you love is to harbor hate within you. . If you would but realize the damage which is done by hating, you would know that you cannot afford to hate. Remember: Hatred never harms the one hated. The hater is the
one who pays the penalty, after all who does hatred keep awake at night?

Here is the solution; Hatred is a poison which works on both your mind
and body, understand that hate only harms your self. Ask yourself the question: "Wouldn't that person be glad if they knew this was keeping me awake?" Knowing the futility of lying awake, just hating; whisper a prayer asking that the hated be blessed and then forgive them for the wrongs they may have committed. This act will actually dissolve the hatred, and you will drop off to restful sleep. Again you must forgive, you do not have to trust them ever again, but you must forgive, or you will pay a higher price than the person or things that you hate.

The next area is planning and creating. This is the only constructive reason for sleeplessness given. Progressive, far-sighted people usually spend many of the hours in which they should be sleeping in making plans for the future. As admirable as this trait appears, a weakened physical condition is developed which may later hold one back from doing the things one has planned to do. The inventive-type mind, whether it is concerned with patentable ideas, designs, story material, subjects for paintings, etc., will frequently be most active at bedtime, when ideas seem to come thick and fast.

Now this solution requires only a little self discipline. Retire with the thought such as: I do my best writing early in the morning. As you lay down tell your subconscious mind: "I will sleep peacefully tonight, and as I do so, my subconscious mind will develop a good plan and in the morning, as I write, thoughts will flow to me enabling me to write what I need to accomplish.” Keep a note book next to your bed or readily available nearby, and when you awake you will have to take a little initiative to start writing, but then the thoughts will come, and you will be amazed at what a genius you truly are.

Now this last one; fear, is by no means the least. This is the one most people have. Fear of something, it might be the fear of getting hurt, the fear of losing, the fear of dying, whatever the other part it all boils down to fear If ones health is not good, then you fear death as a result of illness. You can fear death through accidents, fear of being hurt, there are so many types of fear that that whole libraries have been written about the subject. Understand that the fear will grab you and have you imagining all sorts of things, usually all bad. It is a lot like worry but far more sinister as it will actually cause you to not take any action of any kind as you may suffer one or more of the results you stayed awake imagining. Fear will shut down your life and will cause you to stop living even though you are still breathing. You will be torturing yourself and, at night, when everything is dark, and one has a feeling of loneliness, that is the time when one gives vent to such fears.

There is a solution: Love life, and do not fear death, give no thought whatsoever to the day when you will leave this plane of existence. Fear of death hastens death. When we have a pain, instead of looking for the cause and trying to correct it, we worry about it, and associate it with a possible cause of death, we become frantic. This fear will simply cause the situation we do not desire to hasten it’s entry into our life. Live life every day, see the sun come up and know that regardless of what happens today the sun will come up again tomorrow, with or without you, choose to have it rise with you still here, and your fear left behind in yesterday. Live as if you had an average life span of 199 years. Then, no matter what your present age may be, you are young in comparison with the time you have set for yourself.

If there are any unavoidable sounds or noises which may keep you awake, get the right attitude toward the sounds instead of resenting them and they'll no longer bother you. Perhaps you live in a neighborhood where there is considerable street noise. Resenting it will keep you awake. Learn to be indifferent toward the many sounds, and you will soon forget them.
"I just can't sleep with all that racket," you might say. Of course, knowing the mind and how it operates, as you now do, we understand that such a statement literally instructs the subconscious mind to keep one awake.

When I was a younger, I slept on a US Navy destroyer that always made noise, the vents, the engines, and people moving about twenty four hours a day. Because I chose to ignore the noise I became accustomed to it, and whenever it got quiet during night for any reason, the silence would wake me.

Problems, fears and worries are greatly magnified at night. With eyes closed, and in a dark room, your entire attention is focused on that which is keeping you awake. In the daytime, with your eyes wide open, the object of your sleeplessness, when viewed in comparison with all about you, loses much of its importance.

Many people actually prepare for a sleepless night, by commanding them selves to have a sleepless night. You hear then say "Oh, how I dread going to bed. I just know I won't sleep," or they moan that they will toss and turn and worry, and so on. These are commands that you give your self. If you tell your self in such a way that you can’t sleep, them your mind will comply with the order you have given, and keep you awake. .

Look forward to bed time, think how good it will feel to be able to stretch out and relax in a comfortable bed. Tell your self that you are going to have a good night of sleep, and know that soon you'll be fast asleep gaining strength and energy.

Knowing the Truth

The law of vibration is based on the fact that nature compels us all to move forward through life. We could not remain motionless no matter how hard we would try. We move, and every part of us moves, even when we are sleeping.

Every person is driven to move through life, and most of us do not want to merely to move through life like a sound producing, ambulatory blob, but to develop; to improve, and to continue the development to the end of our physical life.

This development can occur only through the improvement of the quality of individual thought. This thought and the ideals, actions and conditions that arise as a consequence, is what drives us throughout our lives.

So a study of the creative processes of thought and how to apply it is of supreme importance to every one of us. This knowledge is the means that causes the evolution of human life on earth; and with our evolution, our improvement as well.

All of us have actively sought for the Truth, and we have explored every means and avenue to find it. In this process those who have preceded us have produced a special kind of literature; which ranges the whole gamut of thought from the trivial to the sublime, through all the philosophies, to the final revelation of self discovery.

This information has had to be guarded and protected from the less enlightened, saved from those who would force us to hold only a single belief, and secluded from the uneducated. The knowledge was given from master to disciple a long and arduous process. The information was only rarely written as it could have been used as damning evidence that would cost the very life of the author.

Thankfully for us that there were some brave souls among us who risked all to produce written information for the future ages. This knowledge is used by the world as a means of tapping the great Intelligence (god) and attracting from it that which corresponds to the ambitions, and aspirations of each individual.

What we all strive for is this knowledge, this ability, this power. We desire to know what it is, and how to use that power, and to use it both constructively and creatively. The things and conditions we desire to become realities, to fulfill our dreams; is the driving force behind all human life. Without our dreams and goals we would be no better than the plants we grow for food.

Nothing is impossible; we only need to desire to do it. We can find the truth if we but actively seek it. You will discover that the truth exists somewhere within you, and it has been there your whole life. You must only treat it as a course of study and conscientiously act upon the meaning that you find.

Knowing the truth will make you a greater, better person, and equip you with a new power to achieve any worthy personal purpose and an ability to enjoy life’s beauty and wonder.

At Last a Proven Way to Create Your Perfect Life

Do you already lead the perfect life and you can’t think of anything that needs improving? Probably not, you desire a better life, and are struggling to make it so. So what is it that you must have to bring about the life you desire? Well, it all starts with a dream.

This dream is what you have dreamed and will create into reality. This is not science fiction, it happens every day. There is a certain magic that happens when you have a dream. If you stay focused on your dream the universe aligns itself to your will and things fall into place to create your will from desire to reality. Remember this saying: "If we don't have a dream, we have nothing”

There are some proponents who say it is our subconscious that creates our universe, while others say it is our force of will, and yet others say it is their god who directs and controls their reality. Whatever your belief we will use the word universe and you can insert your belief there.

Let us start with this statement: The universe accepts whatever you pretend is real and will use it to create your outer reality. This is a broad and general statement but it is the corner stone of what is to follow. Of course there are conditions that are attached but you can manifest your desire by pretending they are real.

So the next step is to define what you desire into a recognizable form. Let us say you had a day dream about a wonderful life and you then determined to make that day dream into a real dream, a goal, and a vision of your future. So go ahead, determine what would your ideal life be like; what car you drive, what house you live in, what your garden looks like and so on. Go ahead day dream all about it. If you find your thoughts wandering to other things, tell yourself to “stop that” and stay focused on your day dream.

So now comes the hard part; writing it down. For some reason this is the step that many people will skip over. You have to realize that this is a vital and important step. Those who do not write down their dream seem to have a much harder time making it a reality, often completely failing. Those who write down their dream life find that it comes to be with amazing quickness.

So as you are writing out your dream life keep in mind a couple of key points. It is the purpose of humans to lead a happy and fulfilled life. This is why the universe set things up the way they are so that every human can be happy. So what is this elusive “Happiness?”

Happiness does not always mean some event that puts a big smile on our face. It means moving toward goals that help us live the kind of life we think is in our best interest at the time. Happiness is a perpetual state of contentment. So in that sense our actions should always be aimed at making ourselves "happy."

Once we have a dream to follow we become content with our selves. We see that our life is getting better, and we become content with the knowledge that our life will soon be what we have willed it to be. From this state of personal contentment everything is possible. Personal contentment brings peace of mind. Peace of mind brings happiness.

The next thing to keep in mind is: The Power of Gratitude. Be grateful for what you receive when you receive it. The more you thank the universe the more it gives you. Think of it this way; if you give a child a piece of candy and they are happy and thank you and give you a hug, you are more likely to give them another piece later. On the other hand if you give a child candy and that child gets mad and demands more or a different piece, or acts like it is your duty to provide candy and your being remiss, then you are very unlikely to give that child any more candy. So it is with us and our relationship with the universe.

Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions a human being can experience. This feeling alone can put you into a state of contentment. A grateful mind is a content mind; a grateful mind needs nothing. When you are being grateful; you will find that peace and contentment soon follows. Another key point about gratitude is that when you focus on it; it becomes an extremely powerful energy source that creates happiness. So with the power of gratitude you can turn a bad moment into a great one!

So what are you waiting for? Go ahead; day dream and think about what you would like for a perfect and happy life. Then write it down, as much detail as you want, no one but you will see it so do not worry about spelling or context, just write and write until you have your perfect life on paper. Do it today and you will begin to see things change for the better.

Be Blessed

The Secret of Creating Your Life with Writing

A certain magic occurs when you place pen to paper and document what you have inside. In a sense; written thoughts and feeling become alive. This is an old technique and it has a long lasting impact.

If you were asked to describe your perfect life right now, could you? Chances are that you couldn't. This is a problem, because if we can't see our goals and desires clearly, we can’t achieve them.

To raise the odds of having the life you always wanted, you must first write down exactly how you would like that life to be. This document will be your life’s purpose, and you need to have one.

It will serve as your guiding light. Whenever faced with a decision, you will now be able to think, "Will choosing this bring me closer or further away from my purpose?" This will shorten the time it takes you to make decisions and will improve the choices that you make.

Not only that, it will be your snapshot into the future. When you are struggling and feeling defeated, you can always go back to your paper and get motivation from it.

This work will really get your imagination going. It will be exciting and fun. You get to write down anything at all that you would like in your life. You can describe your daily activities, what your house looks like, your cars, your pets, your clothes. You can describe your career, your friends, your colleagues, and on and on.

A few pointers as to your writing; first be specific. Saying that you have lots of money someday doesn't give the universe a definitive target to aim for. So how much is lots of money? Then when will that "someday" be? In a few months, a year, ten years?

Second don't limit your ideas. Is it possible for you to have 10 million dollars in the bank? Yes, it is possible and that's all your subconscious needs to know to allow the universe to bring it into your life.

Third don't worry about “How” you will make the events come true. That is what your subconscious mind and the universe will work on. You simply have to worry about the “What.”

You can be what you will to be. So put your will on paper: Start by writing out your day, what is your “normal” day like. Then progress to larger events and details. Write a short story about your life, there is no limit on what you can write into your life, so use as much artistic license you desire.

So get to it; the longer you delay the longer your life will not be as you desire. Get going today. Buy a spiral note book, they are inexpensive, and fill the pages with the words of your dream life. The sooner you get started the sooner you will arrive into the life you will to live.

Be Blessed

This or Something Better

For as long as there has been a human history there is a method of changing your life for the better. Most people simply struggle through their lives and hope for a better future. They hope that some day they will be happy, someday they can retire, someday this, someday that.

Something that most of us do not comprehend is that someday is not guaranteed. All we have is right now. You can hope for a future, you can plan for it, but you can not live it until it arrives. So how can you make your future something you look forward to; something that you anticipate, something better.

So it is time now; for a step by step method of making your life better…

Decide on what you desire. There is no limit, and no restrictions; what you decide is what you will get. However be warned; be careful what you ask for as you will get it, and it may not be what you want. The universe knows what is best for you and will deliver what you truly need and desire.

Now the most important step: Write it down. Writing it down is an action of power; something about writing it down causes the universe to act faster and with more precision. Sure you can get your desires without writing it down, but the end result will be less specific, less clear, and the generalization of your desire may be found to be not as good as you had hoped. Writing your dream results in a better focus and you will receive a better result every time. Two things that you should add in to your desire are the words: “I accept this or something better”, and the statement; “with harm to none.”

So we go to the next step and list your benefits. Why do you desire this to happen or come into your existence? Make sure it is for the greater good, in other words make sure it can happen with harm to none. Also add in that you will accept something better. Let us say you desire a car, but good deals on trucks keep coming up, that means the universe know you will be needing that pickup truck in the future, or that it will be more useful to you than a car, so accept the something better.

There are a few sub steps in this benefit analysis, so let’s cover them quickly. Analyze your current position; will this desire of yours help, hurt, change, or eliminate your current situation?

Find and Identify obstacles and risks; look closely at what side effects this may cause. For example if you desire to live in a better neighbor hood, will the people you help now suffer from your absence?

Here is a sub step that most people try to skip, and it will definitely come to haunt you if you do not pay it some attention: Identify dues, investments and sacrifices. Paying dues is the process of learning and achieving. For example to become a great pianist you would pay the dues of hours of practice, etc. etc. etc. Investments are things you would have to have to accomplish your desire. Again, to be a pianist requires a piano. Do not forget the last part; of sacrifice. Following with pianist example; you will have to give up some TV time in order to practice, and so on.

Another step that speeds up the process is to identify the knowledge you will need. Continuing with the pianist example; you will need to learn how to read music, and to translate what you read into finger movements, so you will need to seek an instructor to help you discover this information.

Lastly there is a step that most people skip, and in so doing set them selves up for failure and disappointment: Set a deadline. Three simple words that are so filled with terror, that for some that it freezes their actions. Without a deadline you do not have a timeline for the universe to go by. Yes the universe is timeless, but you are not. You can desire something all you want but without a deadline in place the universe will treat your desire as a low priority. You may get it in a timely manner, you may not. Setting a deadline creates a sense of urgency that will have its affects manifest promptly.

So there you have it, a recipe for your life, a method of working, a skill for using, whatever you wish to call it. You now know, and in knowing you can make better choices, and reap better rewards.

Remember this; before you can reap, you have to sow

The Secret to Expecting and Manifesting

There is a belief system implanted into every human being. We all have one, most by default we use the beliefs we were taught when we were younger by our parents. For some of us we begin to awaken to the possibilities of our own reality. We begin to suspect that there is far more than we were allowed to learn.

This realization that there is more to us than what we originally thought has led us to the realization that we need to know more. So we begin to look for more information and more truths in an effort to discover our real selves.

This individual belief system has developed and polarized over the years based upon the successes we as individuals have experienced in our life. It is the expectation, based on this belief system that enables the individual to manifest situations, events and material objects.

One thing that we should know about our journey into self awareness is expectation. Our emotion of expectation will manifest what we are looking for. It is without a doubt the most important ingredient that we will ever use.

Expectation is absolutely vital for the construction of physical objects and events from subconscious thoughts. It is also vital when this internal data is sifted and categorized, within the framework of the individual’s personal belief system; for example, if a person absolutely knows that they are naturally unlucky then they will never be able to successfully manifest “luck” events.

The combination of thought, expectation, emotion and desire creates form; which is created by subconscious manipulation of the basic energy of the universe. It is for this reason that if you focus strongly on some desired event in your future it is more likely to happen, given that you add the necessary emotional yearning and expectation. This is the secret to manifesting.
If you desire a situation to come to pass, you must expect it to. If your desire is a set of circumstances then you must expect them to manifest.

You are the creator of your reality; everything you are and have now is the direct result of your manifesting it into your world. You are the one responsible, and you are the one who is in control. That’s right; you are in control of your own life.

So what do you need to do? First be honest with your self; in the words of Shakespeare “To thine own self be true.” Look at where you are, right now, what you have, and what you are doing. Face your reality for what it is; you can not change it if the starting info is faulty. You can not make a full loaf of bread if you do not have some of the ingredients. Inventory your life so that you can prepare to make it what you want.

The next thing you must do is know what you want. What is your dream; your desires, your ultimate goal? It does not matter if you are the best marksman in the world, without a target; there is nothing to aim at. Without a destination you can’t start the journey; as there is no place to go to.

When you have those two ingredients then you are ready and able to begin; commence to creating your life into your life. Remember the order; desire creates thought, which in turn generates emotions, and expectation creates desires.

Expect that what you desire will manifest, don’t “wish” it, just expect it.

How to Discover Your Inner Power

There is something very important you need to know: That you can create your life to be what you want it to be.

You know that YOU are the creator of all that occurs in all of your life experience, right? Believe it or not; you ARE the one that creates your physical life experience through your thoughts. Literally, every thought that you think gives birth to a creation. EVERY thought you have has creative power.

The thoughts that you think, regarding those things that you want, set into motion the creation, and eventual fulfillment of that which you want. And likewise, the thoughts that you think, regarding those things that you do not want, set into motion the creation, and eventual fulfillment of that which you do NOT want.

To some of you this may be old news. Blah, blah, blah, the Law of Attraction, blah, blah, blah. So how do you use this discovery to improve your life?

There is a simple three step formula that you use to control the Law of Attraction and to manifest your desires into reality. Let me explain a couple of the concepts before moving on.

There is a technique called “Creative Visualization” and it is the technique of using your imagination to create what you want in your life. There is nothing at all new, or unusual about creative visualization. You are already using it every day, every minute in fact. It is your natural power of imagination, the basic creative energy of the universe which you use constantly, whether you are aware of it or not.

The next concept to become aware of is the way you regard your life. Your life is not your master, it is your child. You groom your life to be the way you desire. You teach yourself, you train yourself, and you make you who you are by growing into yourself. Every moment of your life is infinitely creative and the universe is endlessly bountiful. Just use controlled effort to put forth a clear enough request and everything your heart desires must come to you.

Lastly I must explain to you that what you think is what you get. Be brutally honest with yourself and watch your thoughts. Spend time thinking of what you want rather than what you don't want. Be very careful of this, because if you envision something quite casually, even though you may not be sure you want it, it will manifest. You will get what you ask for; it may not be what you want.

So to get on with the lesson let us grab a piece of paper and pen. Sit down in a comfortable spot and write down your desire. You can have anything you want; you can be anything you desire; so write it down. Imagine if you will a genie just popped out of the bottle and told you that it will give you one wish today: What would that be? Write it down. This is step one; know what you want.

Now that you have firmed up your desire, get comfortable in your chair and daydream about your desire that you just wrote down. Add as much detail as you can, add color, temperature, and any other detail you see fit to add. This; the world of images, is the source of power in your physical world. Imagining what you want is like creating a model before you build the real thing. The images direct the energy in your body. Beliefs generate thoughts; and thoughts generate emotions, which in turn creates your inner experience that becomes your outer reality. If any area of your life is not working, one of your beliefs in that area simply needs to be enhanced. This is step two; see what you desire.

You are the creator of everything in your life. Nothing has happened or happens to you that you have not called to you. Life is really very simple. What we give out, we get back. You create creation with the thoughts that you think.
The inner desire of the wise and conscious soul is to externalize, to create a tangible manifestation of what it internally holds to be true and thereby experience that belief. It is through that experience that the transformation occurs. This is why it is so important to develop self-awareness to the depths of your ability so that no creation can come about in your life without your having made the choice.

Now you must take some time for introspection. Realize that you have created your reality: You have designed your life yourself. Look for yourself; everything is familiar, you have seen it or felt it before. You have created nothing in your outer reality that is a stranger to you. You need to accept reality for what it is: Reality. Once you have that conception, you can change it; sometimes quite rapidly and sometimes a bit slower.

There is comfort to be had by looking at your "outer circumstances" and realize that this is a perfect reflection of what you truly believe as a soul. With each breath, with each pulsation of energy, you send out this essence of yourself, which mingles with other essences and creates and re-creates your physical environment.

Feel yourself centered within and sending out waves of your energy. See it radiation outward from your physical being and into the environment, where it becomes an extension of yourself. Realize that the objects you perceive as "out there" are the materializations of your thoughts, formed by your energy into the symbols of the inner you, the essence of which you are, and thus your very soul. Emotions help you create reality. When you believe in something, love, desire, and want it, you can create it more quickly. If there is anything you want to become aware of, focus upon it. Whatever you turn your attention to, you will create. That was step three; believe.

So there you have the formula for having a happy life the way you want it.
Step one; know your desire. Step two; see what you desire. Step three; believe.

A Better Life through Inner Strength

You have taken it upon yourself to grow as a human being. Inevitably you will face resistance, or the appearance of resistance, in the form of negative people and negative self-talk from your mind. The time must come when you will satisfy yourself by steadfastly depending on the inner self, and not on anything in the outer world.

There is an example of nature that we can use. It is the basket of crabs; when a crab tries to escape from the basket, one of the other crabs will reach up and pull it back down. People do the same thing. As you try to change your situation, other people will pull you back down. I am sure you have experienced it first hand. If you have never experienced this, try this as an experiment. Tell your friends and relatives that you are thinking of starting your own store, and observe carefully their reactions. Some will be supportive, most will be negative and tell you that you will fail, or that nobody can do that, you’re not the type, and so on.

Now can you imagine what kind of reaction you will receive when you try to tell them about your new path in life? Imagine if you will; a whole church full of hard core christians, and you are standing at the pulpit, you are going to make the announcement that you are a witch. What kind of reaction will they have? Are you brave enough to risk instant burning at the stake? I know in real life nobody would do that, I am just getting the point across that the rest of the world does not need to be invited into your personal life.

Avoid negative people and situations. Do not allow anyone the opportunity to douse their negative energy on you as you try to evolve. It is not necessary to explain to anybody where your new mental attitude is coming from, unless they are completely supportive and genuinely interested.

Protect yourself from negativity! Do not argue or defend your new ideas to anyone! Ignore those people, and get away from anybody who cannot understand the psychological principles you are learning. This is the easy part. The hard part is actually you. You must also banish the negative self-talk that incessantly occurs in your mind. Replace all negativity, criticism and self-doubt with an honest belief in your ability to change anything in your life.

You do not have to pretend that you do not have problems, or that things do not always go smoothly, but you must realize that you have the ability to solve any of your problems, and the potential to attain all of your goals. This is not blind hope, but literal fact.

The easiest way to banish negativity from your life is to have an optimistic view towards the future. Perhaps your past has been filled with negativity and pain, but there is no reason to drag this pain with you as you grow older.

You have the power to make your life a positive expression of your spirit. Realize that you have the power to change anything in your life with which you are unsatisfied. This knowledge will give you the strength to go beyond the negativity we are all surrounded by. Also, with optimism, it is much easier to turn your problems into opportunities for growth.

Optimism for the future is the easiest shortcut to banish negativity. Today, create for yourself a simple, short statement that you can repeat to yourself whenever you feel doubt, or fear, or anger. A good example is “I am healthy, wealthy, and wise,” or “Everyday, in every way, I am getting better and better,” or simply “Everything is going my way.” Find a statement that you are comfortable with and apply it throughout your day.

Then write it down, put it in your pocket or coin purse. That way every time you reach for some change you feel the paper, and remember to be positive.

What is Good and What is Evil

What is Good and What is Evil

Everything you do has a consequence. Every choice you make is either for good or for bad, good or evil. Well do you know what the difference is? There seems to be confusion lately as to what really is Good or Evil. So as I am here to help, allow me to remonstrate.

There is a difference between moral and amoral. Both are actions that you take depending on beliefs.

Moral beliefs differ greatly, some simple and some very complicated. Moral actions are based on society, religion and upbringing. Depending on where you are an action may be interpreted as good or bad differently. A moral action can be right or wrong, good or evil, at the same time. The exact same action in one place will be applauded while in another will be punished. Moral beliefs are changeable and what is one day good may very well be bad the next. You are responsible for your own moral judgments. You can change you view daily if you choose. The actions you make based on morality can be interpreted differently ranging the whole scale from very good to very evil. Lastly moral actions can be right for some and the same action wrong for others. Moral actions are often based on feelings and emotions, and therefore cannot be considered an absolute.

Morality is very subjective, and should best be left ungoverned and without the power of law. An example of what can happen when morality is given the power of law is the infamous witch hunts.

Amoral actions are not concerned with or amenable to moral judgments, these are universal, and never change in relationship to good or bad. They are always one or the other, and they are absolute. Amoral actions are definable in unqualified terms, they are not based on opinions, they are not created by any person, or organization. The amoral or better termed non-moral actions can be governed and rewards and punishments put in place. The good news is there is not many of these non-moral actions, so they are easy to remember. There are two sides in all things, everything has an opposite, and so it is with the amoral actions:

Any deliberate action that intentionally and knowingly benefits the human race or individual and society is; Good.

Any deliberate action that intentionally and knowingly harms the human race or individual and society is; Evil.

As you can see they are easy to remember. They are not subject to moral change, they remain absolute. Most written laws have been made to reflect these two absolutes. Good actions increase happiness, and prosperity. Evil actions do not.

So now you know, you are wiser for having read this. Wisdom is a good thing, you have benefited greatly for the time spent reading this little article.

Self Improvement and Success

Everything that happens to us happens for a purpose. One thing always leads to another. Instead of crying over past heartaches and failures, treat them as your teachers, and they will become your tools in both self improvement and success.

I remember watching Patch Adams – its my favorite movie, actually. Its one great film that will help you improve yourself. Hunter “patch” Adams is a medical student who failed to make it through the board exams. After months of suffering in melancholy, depression and suicidal attempts – he decided to seek for medical attention and voluntarily admitted himself in a psychiatric ward. His months of stay in the hospital led him to meeting different kinds of people. Sick people in that matter. He met a catatonic, a mentally retarded, a schizophrenic and so on. Patch found ways of treating his own ailment and finally realized he has to get back on track. He woke up one morning realizing that after all the failure and pains he has gone through, he still wanted to become a doctor. He carried within himself a positive attitude that brought him self improvement and success. He didn’t only improved himself, but also the life of the people around him and the quality of life. Did he succeed? Needless to say, he became the best damn doctor his country has ever known.

So, when does self improvement become synonymous with success? Where do we start? Take these tips and use them to improve yourself to become successful.

First thing; Stop thinking and feeling as if you’re a failure, because what you think is what you get. How can others accept you, if YOU can’t accept YOU?

When you see hunks and models on TV, think more on self improvement, not self pitying. Do you want to look like them? Is that what it will take for you to like yourself? Then start exercising and learning. Self acceptance is not just about having nice slender legs, or great abs. Concentrate on inner beauty.

When people feel so down and low about themselves, help them move up. Don’t go down with them. Talk about plans and how to make your dreams come true. Don’t talk about other people and their supposed faults. They’ll pull you down further and both of you will end up feeling inferior.

The world is a large room for lessons, not mistakes. Don’t feel stupid and doomed forever just because you failed once. There’s always a next time. Make rooms for self improvement, learn that you will always be tested and once you pass that test, the next one will be waiting.

Take things one at a time. Start with small goals and work towards bigger ones a little at a time. Mother nature took a long time to turn beaches from rocks to sand. It will take you a little while to turn around your bad behavior. Self improvement is a one day at a time process.

Self improvement results to inner stability, personality development and dig this …. SUCCESS. It comes from self confidence, self appreciation and self esteem. The more successful you are the more confident you become. The more confident you are the more successful you become.

Set meaningful and achievable goals. Self improvement doesn’t turn you to be the exact replica of somebody else. It can’t, those people are already taken. Self improvement hopes and aims to result in an improved and better YOU.

Little things mean alot to other people. Sometimes, we don’t realize that the little things that we do like a pat on the back, saying “hi” or “hello”, greeting someone “good day” or telling Mr. Smith something like “hey, I love your tie!” are simple things that mean so much to other people. When we’re being appreciative about beautiful things around us and other people, we also become beautiful to them. Give compliments freely, their easy to give and you get so much in return.

When you’re willing to accept change and go through the process of self improvement, it doesn’t mean that everyone else is. The world is a place where people of different values and attitude hang out. Sometimes, even if you think you and your best friend always like to do the same thing together at the same time, she would most likely decline an invitation for self improvement.

You should always remember that there is no such thing as an over night success. Its always a wonderful feeling to hold on to the things that you already have now, realizing that those are just one of the things you once wished for.

A very nice quote says that “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” We are all here to learn our lessons. Our parents, school teachers, friends, colleagues, officemates, neighbors, etc. etc. etc. they are our teachers. When we open our doors for self improvement, we increase our chances to head to the road of success.

Remember one thing leads to another. How do you climb a mountain? One step at a time.

Be Blessed

About Manifesting

You may have tried manifesting things into your life before. Then worried about it and given up when they seemed to not arrive. This may have filled your heart with sadness and a loss of hope, because your mind gave in to the ego’s cries that tell you this is a waste of time. Your energy is better spent doing physical actions that bring you where you want to be, and
your imagination is better off in your childhood where it belongs… right?

There are many factors that can cause the seed not to grow. Once a seed is created -brought into form- from the Law of Cause and Effect, in order for the seed to undergo transformation certain conditions must be present.

Many prayers go unanswered because of this often-overlooked secret.

The main secret is within the use of your emotions.

When you ask for something, what are the conditions from within?

Let’s say you’re asking for money. You’re going to the Creator with a sincere desire for sustenance. What you must be aware of is what feelings you are using to generate the request as those feeling are what are fueling your prayers and meditations. For most people, they’re asking for what they don’t have, so they’re entering into a state of being where regardless of what they’re asking for, they won’t receive it because the fuel that’s being used to send those prayers to the Heavens are propelled by lack, grief and limitation. Guess what; you get what you ask for! However since you did not ask correctly you do not get what you desired. People are motivated to pray and manifest based on the false presumption that merely asking will bring it.

How can this possibly manifest any other way? The true power is in the feeling behind the thought and intention.

Did you read that last sentence? If the thought is to gain, but the feeling is based on fear of loss, then the outcome is for them to cancel each other out and nothing happens… otherwise, the exact opposite of what you’re wishing for may come true.

So what then can be done? Instead of praying or creating through fear of loss; generate the feeling of wonder.

Imagine you are a little kid in a candy store and all around you is the most candy you have ever seen. You don’t know where to start, you are frozen in anticipation. Your eyes remain wide open and your jaw drops in amazement. What are these feelings? Then your mom or dad gives you some of that candy, now what feelings do you have?

The feeling of shear gratitude, of thankfulness, you are in complete awe.

This is the secret of manifesting; never pray, meditate or manifest out of fear of loss. When you use manifestation you are creating; you have nothing to lose! Fear is the anticipation of pain or loss. Anticipate wonder instead. Be and feel wonderful and manifest your dreams into physical form. Be grateful and thankful and happy. Be struck with awe that such awesome things are coming to you.

Be Blessed

Manifesting Dreams

Everyone, at some point in their life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn't fantasized about being the one who hits the game-winning homer? Who hasn't dreamed of being the homecoming queen? And how many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful? Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that – dreams, and our aspirations only collect dust.

This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures and living our dreams, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day. Rather than rise out of bed each day looking forward to the days events, we drag ourselves to our jobs, just barely existing.

But you know what? Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher. To actually know what we want from life and to actually go get it. This would be such a great thing, that we would be happy all the time.

To be happy with ourselves and with our life is the ultimate goal.

The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can't do that. This is too hard. It's too impossible. Nobody can do this... Here is a giant revelation that when you understand this your life will change: Impossible is Just a Word! That word is used by you to limit yourself. You set the limit, you are in charge of your life, and you are responsible for your own actions.

Remember that scientists were baffled when they took a look at the humble bumblebee. Theoretically, they said, it was impossible for the bumblebee to fly. Unfortunately for the bumble, bee no one has told it so. So fly it does.
We all have listened to the wrong advice. Yes some advice is good, like “don’t play in traffic” and “look both ways before crossing the street.” Other advice was bad, like “we aren’t made of money” and “You can’t do that because your too (young, stupid, old, white, black, etc.)” We become limited from listening to the wrong advice.

Have you ever told your friends about something you were going to do? Then they all either laughed at you or told you it can’t be done, or both? This is dream killing. People do not want you to succeed. They think that no one should succeed, or become a better person.

Some people suffer from dreaming totally outrageous dreams and not acting on them. The result? Broken dreams, and tattered aspirations. If you limit yourself with self-doubt, and self-limiting assumptions, you will never be able to break past what you deem impossible. If you reach too far out into the sky without working towards your goal, you will find yourself clinging to the impossible dream.

Try this exercise. Take a piece of paper and write down some goals in your life. Under one column, list down things ‘you know you can do’. Under another column, write the things ‘you might be able to do.’ And under one more, list the things that that are ‘impossible for you to do.’

Now look at your list. Strive every day to accomplish the goals that are under things ‘you know you can do’. Check them when you are able to accomplish them. As you slowly are able to check all of your goals under that heading, try accomplishing the goals under the other header-the one that reads ‘you might be able to do.’ As the items you wrote under things I could do are accomplished, you can move the goals that are under things that are ‘impossible for you to do’ to the list of things ‘you might be able to do.’

As you go through this process, you will find out that the goals you thought were impossible become easier to accomplish, and the impossible begin to seem possible after all. You see, the technique here is not to limit your imagination. It is to aim high, and start working towards that goal little by little. However, it also is unwise to set a goal that is truly unrealistic.
Those who just dream towards a goal without working hard end up disappointed and disillusioned.

On the other hand, if you told someone a hundred years ago that it was possible for man to be on the moon, they would have laughed at you. If you had told them that you could send mail from here to the other side of the world in a few seconds, they would say you were out of your mind. But, through sheer desire and perseverance, these impossible dreams are now realities.

Thomas Edison once said that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Nothing could be truer. For one to accomplish his or her dreams, there has to be had work and discipline. But take note that that 1% has to be a think-big dream, and not some easily accomplished one.

Ask any gym rat and he or she will tell you that there can be no gains unless you are put out of your comfort zone. Remember the saying, “No pain, no gain”? That is as true as it can be. I like the Marine saying; “pain is weakness leaving the body.”
So dream on, friend! Don’t get caught up with your perceived limitations. Think big and work hard to attain those dreams. As you step up the ladder of progress, you will just about find out that the impossible has just become a little bit more possible.
