Success Begins In The Mind
One apparent thing about success is that every individual has to determine the true meaning of success in his own life. The one’s who walk through life making an attempt to accomplish “success” through someone else’s standards or through the standards of one’s society will continuously be lacking of that successful feeling.
The modern dictionary defines success as that certain measure or degree of achievement or accomplishment or as a desirable and favorable outcome.
One should make a decision on what one truly wants that can offer a desirable or favorable outcome that must be in each aspect of one’s life. To accomplish success, one has to set realistic goals for his life, meaning goals that can be achieved. One should measure success as to how close one comes to accomplishing one’s goals that one has set for himself based on one’s skills and abilities.
Know that one’s “subconscious mind” is a very incredible and powerful tool that one has yet to improve and utilize it wisely to its complete capacity, to accomplish success.
To fully understand how powerful and encouraging your “subconscious mind” can be, you should understand first and recognize that there really is no “coincidence”, that nothing in life occurs just by chance. Meaning, nothing is predestined, that you have the power to control your life, to control your success and your failure.
Events or incidents in life can be maneuvered or controlled to resolve one’s problems. You have the power to change certain aspects of your life that you are not contented with.
Whereas there is no disagreeing to the actuality that one can not at all times acquire what he wants, it is likewise true that one can utilize one’s natural power over events of one’s life and cause things to move on one’s desired direction more “frequently”.
Expectation, belief and desire are three powerful forces that can help one do so. Before anything that one wishes for to occur can happen, one must desire for it to happen, should believe deeply that it will happen and one should expect that it will happen.
The “subconscious mind” generates all things in one’s life that is on the information and messages one sends to it. One is continuously and regularly sending the mind information and messages and most information sent are useless or that they are negative information functioning against you. This is why things never recuperate regardless of your efforts to make it succeed.
It will be truly difficult to follow any success level if you are not specific and clear regarding what you believe is attainable for yourself. It is then extremely significant assess and gauge your actions, thoughts and motives as you partake your daily life. You should gain understanding and knowledge of where you are and what are you doing wrong as well as what you are doing right. Subsequently you should be ready to change for the better when and as it is needed.
Always remember that whatever you display in your beliefs, thoughts and actions are sent to the “subconscious mind”.
So be very careful of your thoughts, beliefs and actions, as they are great influences to your success. Note that if you worry constantly about not acquiring enough finances, then you will really not acquire enough; thinking that you do not have the capability to accomplish your goals, then you will never achieve any; thinking that there not enough open opportunities, then there will never be.
Why? Simply because the “subconscious mind” is constantly working on those information that you have sent and a “negative information” results to nothing but “negative reality”.
When you do accomplish your goal, stop a while and relish that certain satisfaction and pleasure of achieving a goal. Great or small, it is success; a beginning of that life that you want for yourself!

Self Confidence Letter
This is so good I had to share it with you
Dear Friend,
Through choosing your intention and then locking your attention,
you have chosen - and continue to choose to participate in
whichever universe you are currently participating in. So the
question we must ask is, which one are we choosing, or more
importantly which one will we choose?
Think about this. What scientists and physicists are discovering
is that we exist simultaneously in many different forms, dimensions
and time. We choose which reality we want to live in based on our
intentions and attention.
Now I know your head is about to explode because this seems so
unreal, but it is more real than you can imagine or accept
right now.
What every theory in quantum physics has in common is that you are
the observer and the participant. With your clearly defined
INTENTION and your unbending and consistent ATTENTION, you choose
which world you're going to participate in.
Science tells us that the things we observe in our outer world are
nothing more than a projection from our inner world. Okay, take a
breath and let's put it in practical terms.
Imagine you offer a vibration for the future that you want to
create $100,000 in the next year. If you are focusing on that,
feeling it, acting on it and then reinforcing it with your actions,
the money starts to take physical form. Conversely, if you're
putting out an intention of $100,000 and you stress out when your
credit card bill comes in and you keep telling your friends how
broke you are and how bad the economy is, then they cancel each
other out.

Anytime you think, feel and act broke, or worry about the economy,
you are sending out a vibration that is bound to cancel your
intention. This is why so many people struggle with manifesting the
things they desire in their lives. In other words, only vibrations
that are in resonance with each other can harmonize. This is the
scientific principle behind the Law of Attraction.
Since we create our reality on whichever dimension we choose to
participate, it is critical that the BIG THREE - thoughts, feelings
and emotions - are in harmony along with our actions. If they are
not in sync, your present and future won't harmonize. They will
INTERCEPT, and they will cancel each other out.
Now you can see how setting your desire or intention in the
present, that is, creating your vibration, equates with how you are
choosing to participate in the universe. If the vibration you are
offering is out of resonance or harmony with what is coming back
from your future, you won't be able to create it.
This is why making a decision based on where you are going, not
where you are is so critical. The key is to accept where you are
without resistance. You accept "what is" without fighting it, but
you keep your intention on your desire. This is the secret to
manifestation. I suggest you reread this paragraph again.
If you remain at this high level of vibration then you MUST realize
that you don't have to create your desire. It is ALREADY created!
You just have to align with it. What you desire is in the quantum
field of possibilities (alternate universe if you will). So get
in harmony with it, start taking action based upon it and that is
what will unfold.

How To Think and Grow Rich
In the book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill it is mentioned that “there is no such thing as something for nothing”. There is no free ride, no get rich by doing nothing. In other words everything has a price. The physics law states that for every action there is a reaction. So what we are talking about here is that something has to happen for other things to happen.
What price do you have to pay to think and grow rich? The clue is in the statement. If you think you can grow rich. Now you may be interested in knowing what it is that needs thinking. This is the great mystery isn’t it? You are probably wondering what kind of thinking will make one grow rich.
Well, in the book Think and Grow Rich this concept is mentioned many times, at least once a chapter. In a round about way the method is shown many times from many different angles, yet it is the same concept. The other part is that only those who are looking for it will find it. That means you are going to have to get the book and read it, probably twice.
You need to think to grow rich, and you need to think about certain things in a certain way. Then you will need to apply this process into your life so that it will work for you. You must use it repeatedly and constantly for the thought to affect your life and your riches. Once you start you must continue, you must follow through, and you must keep thinking every day for the rest of your life.
Another physics law states that an object in motion tends to remain in motion. This is what will help you think and grow rich. You will develop the habit and it will become easier and easier until it is automatic. You will be able to think and grow rich without having to expend a large effort. That is if you start at all, you must take the first steps, you must start the motion, you must start to think and grow rich.
As mentioned in the book Think and Grow Rich a clue is given in that “All achievement, all earned riches, have had their beginning in an idea!” You will have to figure out your idea for yourself. To try to copy a person will result in failure. To emulate a person and take your own action will assist in your achieving the riches you seek. No one can do it for you; if you desire to think and grow rich you will have to do it your self.
Now it is time, make a decision, have an idea, and go to recourse block and get the course you know you need to improve your life. To think and grow rich you must make decisions, and decisions can change your life for the better. Make the right one now.

How Can I Use the Law of Attraction Part 6
Let the universe do its own work in its own time! Another reason to have patience and allow is that it is possible to become so focused on what you think is going to happen that you manage to totally miss it right when it is in front of your face. Just because the event did not occur in precisely the manner you demanded that it would.
Always keep in mind that the universe will choose its own time and place for all things to occur. Also be aware that these events may take place through rather unusual means. So you also have to be open to how and when your desire will be met. By precisely predetermining exactly how and when you will receive the rewards which you are seeking you are taking away the choice from the hands of the greater power, which directs the ebb and flow of all the energies of life, and setting yourself up for a hard fall.
You can best achieve success with manifesting when you simply allow for it to happen. Just set your desire, and set a “bookmark” so that you will know when the desire has arrived. Let us say you desire a mate, if you get too involved with the first person you meet you might miss your soul mate when they appear. So set a milestone to know when your objective has been met, such as my soul mate will love to read the same kind of books I do, or will be an early riser like me, or will be happy to meet my dad, and so on. A simple, yet non restricting way, of measuring when you have finally manifested your desire, this way you will know that you have manifested and that the universe is working with and for you, not against you.
Be careful about taking the ability to choose upon yourself, for when you do you are essentially saying that you do not have faith in the ability of the law of attraction to work. Continuing to try to force the issue will eventually cause you to disbelieve in the law of attraction, which will cause your subconscious to radiate the negative energy which will drive the positive energy away, in turn causing it to “never” work for you.
To sum up; the third ingredient for manifesting is patience. Make sure that you exercise your patience and you will be greatly rewarded.

Now we must add in the believing and patience. It is essential that once you have placed a request with the universe that you are willing to have patience for the desired results to occur. The universe is not always going to give you exactly what you want, exactly when you want it. It does things in its own time and it does them better.
Believing and positive thinking is enough to manifest what you want, but it is hard to do because positive thinking occurs only on the conscious level. This explains why positive thinking is not enough by itself to put into effect the law of attraction. It is also necessary for belief to be added into the mix to achieve manifesting, in other words you have to feed the vibration into the subconscious as well
It has long been held that the subconscious has a direct effect on the actions and beliefs of the conscious mind, a topic which will be discussed in greater detail a bit later on, but for now it is sufficient to say that if the conscious mind is attempting to think positive thoughts while the subconscious retains a negative energy the two will cancel each other out, and the desired effect will not be achieved. The universe works at its own speed; remember, every action carries with it an equal and opposite reaction. It is essential that the other environmental conditions be right in order for an event to occur just as it should.
This means that manifesting with the law of attraction may take weeks, months or even years to effect a fruitful reaction to your desires. It seems that people of today are spoiled; they want what they want and they want it now. So this means that a new theory that does not produce instant results is not going to be received with a great deal of favor. If there is not instant gratification then there is disbelief, and belief plays a large part of manifesting. Without belief there can not be manifesting, it is like making pizza without the cheese, just not right.
You can’t push the universe to act when you want it. It will deliver when the time is right, and no sooner or later, be confident in its ability to affect the desired results. So you must be content to wait, knowing that what you want most will come to you in time.

How Can I Use the Law of Attraction Part 4
To manifest what it is we desire we must be positive, we must think, speak, act, and feel positive. This is what creates! Please understand that we are always thinking, and it is our thoughts that cause the cosmic ether to react and create what we have thought about. When we are purposely manifesting our desires then it is the positive vibrations that will see our desired reality created. The release of positive energy into the universe is what allows you to chart the course of your destiny to success, failing to hold the positive will result in uncertainty that will eventually lead you unhappiness. Yes it may seem a bit hard to have to remain positive all the time, and at first it is, but with practice it becomes easier and easier.
Now I am not saying that a momentary lapse of positive vibes will cause you to lose all that you are trying to use manifesting for. Simply realize that you are starting to think poorly and correct yourself to think positive again. This is normal, think of it like letting off on the gas pedal of your vehicle, it is still moving but starts to lose momentum. Well, so it is with manifesting, being positive is pushing the gas pedal and driving you closer to your desires. Thinking negative is letting off of the gas. If you stay negative for long enough eventually your vehicle will stop, and maybe even begin to roll backwards.
As you may have gathered from the previous section, manifesting with the law of attraction does not always work the way that all parties involved would like it to. Why is that? After all, in the law of attraction is universal, why does it seem to only work part of the time? I’ll bet you know the answer already. Now of course almost all of it falls back on the user’s ability to follow the guidelines required, the only thing standing between you and success is yourself; you are responsible for your own fate. If the mind is clogged with so much negative energy that it cannot release the positive vibes which will attract the positive energies of the universe, the law of attraction will not be able to help that person. They must first rid themselves of all of these negative vibes and start fresh.
Thinking positive is just one aspect of using the law of attraction for manifesting your desires. Manifesting is a skill and as with any skill it takes time, effort and devotion to truly master in your life this fabulous new tool called manifesting.

How Can I Use the Law of Attraction Part 3
To manifest the things and situations you truly desire into your life you must raise your vibrations so that they are all positive. So how do you do that? First you must act and feel as though the result you desire for is going to occur. When you are first starting this process you may not actually feel as though it is possible, so you must retrain your self to think positive. Say to your self “You are successful” rather than “You will be successful” and every time you begin to doubt yourself you must immediately correct yourself and tell your-self with firm vigor that you ARE successful. This retraining may take a day or it may take months, it is solely up to you on how well you retrain your thinking.
This thinking process is an essential part of manifesting with the law of attraction. The greater power does not always instantly deliver what you desire; it is this way to keep us from destroying things. The greater good behind all things is for growth and expansion, and if things were too easily available they would be wasted rather than treasured. Many people cannot grasp the concept that to manifest into your life anything of quality takes time. During this time you must remain positive about your self and the desire to be manifested. To think negatively will cause the desire to be cancelled.
Stay focused on what you do want, not what you don’t want, whatever you focus on the most will be what you receive. Always think positive, and when you do catch yourself being negative immediately change your thinking and remind yourself that you ARE going to achieve your goals and dreams. Be on guard against your old self, because it is very easy to allow your mind to begin to wander to negative thoughts, and when it does you must catch your mind, and remind it to always be positive about your dreams and goals. This part may seem simple, and it is, but it is the hardest to accomplish.
A great tactic to use here is to accept that it can happen. Many times it is your own subconscious that is your biggest stumbling block. The struggle will be you attempting to convince your mind that something can happen while your subconscious is trying to pick out the reasons that it won’t. To reinforce your faith you should look again at the sheet of paper upon which you have written your goals and dreams, and remind yourself that when you wrote them it didn’t seem impossible then, and it did not become impossible just because you went into the other room. It is an epic struggle, but one that you can win with simple persistence.

How Can I Use the Law of Attraction Part 2
Identify the things you wish to achieve and write them down. Yes I am very serious; write it on a piece of paper, use a scrap piece at first to write down what you think you want to do. Make the list in small chunks with the ultimate goal at the bottom. For example you want to be the next president of the United States, which would be at the bottom, above that would be the steps needed to get there. Like register for a political party, get elected for another position, get the prerequisite education and experience and so on, with the easiest goal at the top. Then get a brand shiny new piece of paper and rewrite the list neatly and in order, and in large print. Then find a place where you will spend time every day and tape this piece of paper there so that you see it multiple times every day. The bathroom mirror is a good place, the cupboard door above the coffee pot, the wall next to the TV and so on.
Having it there where you are able to constantly view the anticipated results of your endeavors will help to keep you on the right track. What you have just done with the creation of this list is that you are asking the universe for what you want. In essence you have placed your order and now must wait for the product to arrive. While you are waiting take some actions to help speed up the process. If you do nothing, then nothing will happen. If you start doing things to work towards that first goal, then in due time you will achieve your ultimate goal.
Take your time, all day if you have to, and think on this for a while so that it is embedded firmly in your mind. Get your list made and posted, do not even think of going to the next lesson until you accomplish this task. Remember that manifesting will sometimes happen quickly and sometimes slowly, but what you ask for you will get, so be very careful what you ask for so you don’t manifest yourself into a worse situation.

How Can I Use the Law of Attraction?
Now this may seem like going backwards, but the first step in finding success through the law of attraction is to accept responsibility for all the things that have occurred in your life, yes all of them. For now just accept it, if you want to argue that something wasn’t your fault or doing you can argue later.
This is the most difficult part of achieving success through manifestation, the first step of a journey. Now we are taught from childhood to believe that our environment contributes a large part to the circumstances in which we find ourselves. Well this may be true or not, the task at hand is the taking the responsibility and acknowledging the fact that you have no one to blame but yourself.
This is the first step you must take before you can begin to manifest a better life for you self. So spend the rest of today accepting that what you are now is because of the actions you have taken and accept that good or bad it is because of you.

Why Should You be Manifesting?
Two of the questions that many people are asking is why even do this manifesting thing? What does manifesting have to do with me and the way I live? Those question both imply that you don’t need to or have to try to manifest anything as you are fine the way you are and don’t need anything better.
Whether you choose to believe it or not you are always manifesting, you bring into your life what you choose. Unfortunately most people do not realize this and so they continue to bring more of what they don’t want into their lives. To truly use the skill of manifesting is the conscious creation of your environment and the way you live. If your life sucks then you need to learn and master the skill of manifesting.
So that brings us back to the question; why? Well as I explained you are manifesting all the time anyway, so instead of just hoping for the best, the trick would be to use it to your advantage. Learn how to direct the source of power inside you and use it for your own self interest so that you get what you really want instead of more crap.

Imagine if you will that you have a nice car, a nice place to live in a nice neighborhood, and you never have to worry about the bills being paid or not having the things you desire. You have those nice clothes, the friendly neighbors, good food that you like on the table and lots more in the fridge, that you have a career that you enjoy, that your friends and family enjoy your benevolence and love. You can have all that and more if you just start to use the manifesting skill for your good and better self.
So how do you do this? First be aware that you are in control of your own life. It may not seem like it right now as you have lived so long the way you are, rest assured it is not your fault. You were never taught anything else. Becoming aware of the fact that you can recreate your life will open the doors of opportunity and this in turn will set you on a new path to a better life of your choosing.
Next, find a teacher. The saying goes that when the student is ready the teacher will appear. This is so true, when you need a councilor, or a coach, or someone to show you the way, that person will be provided to you by the higher power. It is the way of the universe and if you seek you will find.
So do you think you can start making a better life for yourself and those around you? Do you want a better life? You are reading this for a reason, the higher power has shown you a clue to help you and guide you. It is time to take action and begin to discover a whole new world and better life by the conscious and deliberate use of manifesting.

Manifesting Success
Manifesting success is another way to bring into your life happiness. But what is manifesting success? Manifesting success is not limited to just monetary and material possessions. Success is a happy and fulfilling life. Success can be found everywhere, it is all around us and plentiful. You can see examples of it everywhere in countless forms in life as well as nature.
We are all creators of our own existence. We have manifested the life we have right now. The universe, or Great Spirit, craves to continuously express itself by giving us all that we ask for and desire. We can and do receive the things we deserve. Through this power we demonstrate success, and we can show that we have brought upon ourselves what our current situation is in life. Life, and its meaning shows that we are naturally wanting to grow, to develop, and become bigger and stronger.
Unfortunately, most of us have never been educated on manifesting, and see that this longing and natural inclination for growth has been repressed. The main cause of this undesirable life is negative thinking, and not having enough faith in ones self.
Every person has dual natures: One wants the self to move forward while the other wants to pull back. The old Indian fable where each has a good wolf and a bad wolf inside always fighting for control of the whole, the one who wins is the one you feed. In other words the one nature that one concentrates and cultivates ultimately determines what one is at the end.
Your “will” resolves the issue alone. An individual by use of the “will” can change the world and accomplish miracles. To do this we must have an open mind, we must be receptive to new ideas and practices. To do what we have been doing will only result in the same stuff over and to get something different you must do something different.
A person who has a closed mind accepts as truth a concept without much concern for evidence. They might have reached their concept simply because they were told it was so. They did not bother to look for supporting material or evidence. As a result, when they are presented with a new concept, even with supporting evidence that is contradictory to their current belief, they immediately dismiss it without consideration.
Conversely a person with an open mind considers first the evidence that proves or disapproves the interpretation of the concept before reaching any conclusion. They do not just gather information; rather they weigh what they have learned and work towards reaching a conclusion based on facts and evidence.
This open mind will allow you to attract opportunities and continue to attract opportunities, regardless of how grand or how small they first appear. An open mind is open to all possibilities. This one mind set will allow you to manifest exactly what you desire when you so choose.
Directly opposite is the closed mind, and this will cause a person to be stubborn, wanting things and situations to manifest immediately, and wanting it as exactly as demanded, not willing to accept or try something else in its place, even if it would have been better, even when that which they envisioned can not be accomplished or reached.
When you close your mind, you are in essence telling your higher self, the “powers of the universe” that you are not eager to mature and encounter new things, so as a result there will be no progress, no transformation, and your own life will never have a chance to improve.
A bit from the book “Think and Grow Rich” says that whatever the mind can envision, the mind can create. What you can imagine, believe, and think is conveyed to the subconscious that then works along with the universal forces and establishes your reality based on the visualization of the conscious mind.
You must keep in mind though, that it is not sufficient to merely imagine a thing and then and hope it materializes out of thin air. You will reap what you sow, and this means that you must first put in some effort, and work, not just wishing. That’s right, I said the word “work”, this should clue you in that you will need to expend time and effort in exchange for your desires. For example a couch potato will never win a marathon, unless they first spend the time and effort to train, of course then they would no longer be a couch potato as they are training for a marathon. So to make your dreams come true requires a bit of effort on your part.
You can achieve anything once you open up your mind to manifesting success, and of course get rid of those negative thoughts. What your life is right now and what the present circumstances you have at the moment does not really matter, because once you truly decide to change, and begin to think with noble intentions, your life begins to change direction and many opportunities will find you.
Thoughts hold great power. Be conscious of the thoughts that comes into your mind; let the positive in, and above all never entertain the negative. Open up your mind to possibilities and never be afraid to try; if you fail, take it as an occasion that you have learned from failing, and always try again until you manifest success.
In conclusion of today’s lesson; focus on possibilities, rather than limitations, and expand your thoughts to what it is that you believe, and with a little effort you can manifest success into your life, and once this process has started you will have a happier life.

How Do You Manifest?
We all know that using the power of the law of attraction is called manifesting. The question is, therefore, how do you do this manifesting thing? Well here is a long winded short version of the answer. Let us start with a clarification. The biggest influences that we can use are our own thoughts. Actually in particular, we can use our thought process, because thoughts influence our feelings and have a profound effect on how we deal with life in general.
Wow, that was a mouthful, essentially what we are saying here is that by learning to control our thoughts we get control over what we desire, and we start manifesting more of what we do want, and not what we don’t want. One of the tools that we can and should be using is called self-talk. Self talk it the stuff that runs around in our heads while we go about the day. This is where you rerun events that have occurred, and play out future endings and alternatives over and over and over.
Let me point one out that has been seen a lot, your boss has a harsh word with you, so afterwards so you replay it in your mind, then you play out scenarios where you do the exact minimum required for the job or even think of being destructive to something at the work place, and even to future argue successfully that its all their fault that you performed this way. Associated with those thoughts come some emotions, usually anger and smug satisfaction that you were right and should never have gotten chewed out in the first place.
Well that is self talk and plays a huge part in manifesting. That is why so many of us have crappy lives as we have been manifesting the wrong thing. So what we must do is take those negative self talk moments and turn them into positive self-talk. We all do this self talk, most people do it unconsciously throughout the day, if you can become aware of this, become aware of your self talk moments, then you can make manifesting work for you and you can gain more control over every aspect of your life and then manifest the things you really desire.

Now I know this next part is obvious, but it still needs to be said. “Your ability to succeed in life largely depends on how you deal with life". You need to read that again, positive self talk leads to a confident and ultimately more successful person than one full of negativity which leads to a miserable life. When you catch yourself doing the negative self talk thing, be aware that you are manifesting. Then ask yourself “what are you manifesting?” Realize that you are creating your future with your self talk and you should use that energy to be positive and manifest what you desire rather than manifest more crap into your life. By taking a positive attitude you look at life in a different way, it lead to seeing the good in people and the world, which in turn leads to optimism and success.
Now we must make another obvious statement, “Your quality of life is based on how you think and feel from moment to moment”, the key here is being aware of what you are thinking and feeling. When you think with emotion you are manifesting, you absolutely have to be careful of what you are thinking and feeling because you will get more of it. If you are thinking angry thoughts you will get more to be angry about, if you think loving thoughts you will get more to love. Basically changing the way you think can drastically change how you see and deal with life.
So what have we learned? That the person who goes through life optimistically with a positive attitude is better able to deal with life, and will see the problem for what it is, nothing but a temporary set-back which they can overcome and move on, is able to take full control over their thoughts and feelings and turn a negative situation into a more positive one by simply altering the way they think. Whew, that was a long sentence. Remember that using your thoughts with emotion is manifesting, and since thoughts can either be positive or negative and you can only have one thought in mind at any one time then choosing positive will keep your thoughts, feelings and actions optimistic that allows you to manifest good things into your life which ultimately leads to a happier you.

Manifesting Your True Happiness
In the world today there are many people who are teaching manifesting. Most of these new age gurus are teaching that if you just think about it then you can have the new yacht, the new car, the new house, and whatever causes your happiness. However, a shocking fact that it seems gets left out or ignored is the question; what about you?
For a person to achieve riches from rags there has to be a change inside the person. This is why you must first manifest your self, and then all the worldly toys will follow. You have to be happy with your self, then the toys will come. In other words your happiness must come from inside. The main point is that you must first make yourself ready for the things you desire. Another way to put it is to achieve manifesting through self improvement, or manifest your new self.
Now a quick point to make here, the law of attraction has been bandied about a lot lately and so many people are becoming interested in the subject. When you are consciously using the law of attraction it is called manifesting. Compare it to the term driving, when you use a car to go somewhere it is called driving. So when you are using the law of attraction you are manifesting, and this is what will result in your happiness.
Now you cant just read a single book and expect to become like the fabled genie who can make it happen immediately, you must first attune yourself to the desire, then the desire will be met, only after you have changed, will the universe change. One of the first things that everyone needs to do is change to a more positive and healthy outlook about yourself. You must become a better person, appreciate your self worth, have some self esteem, and be a better person to the universe. When you enjoy your self that is when your happiness will arrive.
One of the first things you need to learn... Yes there it is the “learn” word, which means it will take effort and work... is to not take other peoples criticism to heart, instead listen only to what they are saying and learn from it. If the person is berating you, ask them to rephrase the tirade so that you can understand what they need. If they are using derogatory terms ask them to be a little more professional or courteous and explain the situation not their opinion. That may seem scary, but with practice it will become easier and easier each time you do it.
An excellent tirade stopper is the time out signal used by darn near every sport out there, the two hand tee. Then use your voice and ask the person who is behaving poorly towards you to rephrase. Also keep in mind that this person is not going to stay awake at night worried they hurt your feelings, so don’t allow the conversation to become personal or affect your feelings.
The next two skills for manifesting your self and your happiness is to learn to say no to those who will not treat you correctly, and to take some time out for yourself everyday.
First stop allowing other people to lead your life. When they ask you to do unpleasant or demeaning, or extremely inconvenient things for them and you know they are just taking advantage of you, is to just learn to say no, and mean it. Your time and energy are valuable; do not waste them on people who will not appreciate the gift of you and your talent. Say no, and mean it.
The second skill mentioned above is to learn to do “Me Time”; this is where you will see the most miraculous manifesting of your self occur. Learn to meditate, look inside yourself and realize all your good points and as painful as it may seem now, discover your bad traits, admit them, and change them into more positive and constructive traits.
The Forgotten Laws
Celebrate even the smallest achievements that you accomplish, treat your self whenever you do something new, or well, or better. Soon you will see your life turning around from abject misery to utter joy, and you will have your happiness.
Do something everyday that you enjoy, such as talking a walk in the park, or a really long bath with scented bubbles, or going to a place you enjoy like the library or museum or reading room. Talk positively to yourself, to chase away negative thoughts and feelings never deprive yourself of something you enjoy, if you feel you shouldn’t be doing it, then do it anyway and stop chastising yourself about it. To manifest your self you will have to take actions, these will at first seem hard, but as you repeat the actions, and improve on them you will see more and more change for the better.
Finally when you least expect it you will discover that you are a new you, that you have manifested a new and better you. You will see that life is beautiful, and all those things you previously just wanted, if you still want them, then you can make them happen using your new skill of manifesting.

Confidence Leads to True Happiness
Having confidence means having poise, assurance, coolness, and other traits that are desirable. But to have self confidence is to know and realizing your self-worth. True Happiness is derived from inside your self. This is about you, the person you are in life. We give others respect, love and consideration but how often do we give ourselves what is due?
What we give ourselves is based on self esteem; your self-esteem essentially shows you how much you value yourself. Healthy self-esteem leads to happiness, flexibility, the ability to adapt, and a positive outlook on life. Low self-esteem leads only to irrational thoughts, unhappiness, fear, and a negative outlook on life in general. If we are seeking true happiness then we need to understand a bit about our self.
How we see ourselves is how others perceive us, if we are happy, smiling and full of confidence then others see us as someone they want to be around, if we respect ourselves then others will respect us in return, Having self confidence will cause the world around us to grant us our true happiness. While have low self esteem will cause the world around us to make us miserable.
So let us look at some of the traits so you can determine if you need some self improvement to get your confidence level where it should be so that you can finally get some true happiness.
Now these traits are general and not all inclusive, if you feel you might match some of these then you do need a bit of self improvement to get some true happiness. The first one is that you don’t believe in yourself and are very insecure. This leads to you having problems showing and accepting intimacy in relationships because you never let your true feelings show. The next one is that you never recognize and give yourself credit for your accomplishments, when you accomplish something even if you are given due credit, you belittle it and purposely devalue yourself and your contribution. The last one is that you have the inability to forgive yourself or others and so you resist change at every opportunity
Did any of that seem to apply to you? If so you need to work on your self. That means self improvement. Don’t get all worried about the term self improvement as it is only a term. Rather worry about true happiness as that is what makes for a better life. Do not get all concerned over a tool, rather concentrate on the result. True happiness comes only after you have learned to accept that you are worthy.
So in conclusion, you now know you need some self improvement. Once you start you will learn about you, which will lead to healthy self esteem. You will learn to be secure about who you are and have confidence in your abilities, you will discover how to allow yourself to show your true feelings to you will be able to recognize and take pride in yourself for your achievements in life. All these things together will lead to true happiness in you life.

How Does the Law of Attraction Compare
As the knowledge of the law of attraction and power of positive thinking has grown there have been many which have attempted to make a profit from this incredible discovery. This has spawned a new era of “subliminal products”, which retailers then proceed to sell on the market for a ridiculous price and reap the profits. The difference between subliminal messaging products and the law of attraction is the profit margin. Quite simply, there isn’t one.
You don’t need to have any special equipment to maximize the power of the law of attraction; it is all there in your own mind. Neither do you need an ancient guru to teach you how to use it; once you have mastered the fundamentals upon which the law of attraction is built you are ready to put it into practice.
These same sentiments cannot be expressed with regards to many of the other subliminal programs on the market. These programs claim to be able to help their users lose weight, stop smoking, become smarter, get a new job, move past their shyness, improve their relationships, etc. Do they work? Not always. The law of attraction is the only subconscious means by which to ensure success in whatever endeavor you choose to undertake.
It is only fair that if you are studying the law of attraction you learn a little bit about the various other subliminal programs available. This will allow you to compare them all and understand why the law of attraction is the only one which has been proven time and time again (regardless of what the researchers would have you hear).
Subliminal Messaging is one of the oldest forms of subliminal manipulation, and has been the one to face the greatest amount of controversy. The belief held by the believers in subliminal messaging is that since memories can often be pulled forth from the subconscious to the conscious mind, the subconscious must continue to have some effect on the conscious, whether the owner of said consciousness is aware of it or not.
Those who use subliminal messaging attempt to use various methods to introduce an idea to the subconscious, which will then transmit that idea to the conscious when the proper occasion arises. This is done through the introduction of a brief (often a thousandth of a second) signal to the audio and/or visual senses. This message will be so short that the conscious mind will immediately disregard it as being unimportant, while the subconscious will take the information and store it away.
Subliminal messaging was first introduced in the late 19th century and was introduced in the 1950s as a possible marketing tool. Mr. James Vicary claimed that during a film shown in his New Jersey theater he had used a tachistoscope to broadcast the words “Drink Coca-Cola” and “Hungry? Eat popcorn” for 1/3000 of a second at five second intervals and that during the time of these broadcasts sales of both increased dramatically. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coca_cola)
This sparked a huge debate among the people of the United States, who were afraid that the government would now use subliminal messaging to attempt to control the things they thought and did; they would not be able to do anything about it because they would never know. This controversy led to the banning of subliminal messaging for any type of marketing purpose.
Although Mr. Vicary later admitted that the experiment had been a fraud the concept of subliminal messaging had been brought out into the open, and its possible benefits were explored at length; however, to date no study has definitively shown subliminal messaging to be an effective way to control behavior.
Affirmation is the firm declaration of something to be true, and is intended to convince the mind that what it wants to happen will. For example, stating over and over again, “I can get any job I want” is intended to instill in the mind the confidence to go out and get any job that it wants. This resembles the law of attraction, but is not sufficient to sway the subconscious until other methods are employed as well. Wikipedia describes affirmation as so (this was interesting, showing very well how affirmation and the law of attraction are joined together, and would not have been the same if it was altered in any way).
In spirituality and personal development, an affirmation is a form of autosuggestion in which a statement of a desirable intention or condition of the world or the mind is deliberately meditated on and/or repeated in order to implant it in the mind. Many believers recommend accompanying recitations with mental visualization of a desired outcome. Affirmation could be viewed positively as a mobilization of one's inner resources, or negatively as a kind of self-induced brainwashing, depending on the psychological depth and wisdom of the affirmation.
For example, believers would consider "I am making more room in my life for success every day" a much wiser affirmation than "I will win the lottery today!" Affirmations are always phrased in the first person and usually in a present tense ("I am") rather than a future tense ("I will") in order to increase the realization of the statement for the affirmed.
Affirmations are believed to be a very powerful means of reprogramming the unconscious mind. They appear to be most effective when repeated in a quiet and restful state of mind and body, and when the desired outcome is vividly experienced in one's mind and resulting emotions are felt. They are an intrinsic part of many New Age groups. However, in these groups affirmations are generally recited in flat, mechanical voices at top speed and volume, in order to elevate participants' "vibratory levels".
Perhaps the most often used and well-known affirmation is the word "Amen," which can be translated simply as "so be it" or "and so it is," affirming the truth of whatever was written or said immediately prior. While often used to conclude prayer, the word itself is neutral as to its context and exemplifies a logical affirmation more than a spiritual one.
Visualization works in much the same way as affirmation; you visualize yourself achieving something and your brain will come to believe it is so; therefore, you will be able to do it. Again, this is closely related to the law of attraction but does not address any underlying issues which could contribute to negative vibes.
In Conclusion: Although the power of the law of attraction has yet to be supported by any physical means its effects have been proven time and time again. In spite of the opposition which you will surely face, both within your own mind and throughout the rest of your societal acquaintances, if you adhere carefully to the guidelines set forth you too will be able to unlock the power hidden within the depths of your own mind and chart the course for your own destiny.

Thinking - The Great Secret of Success
We must first think in terms of success before we can manifest success. To build a consciousness of success we must first think. Today’s lesson is all about the effort to impress upon you the fact that all achievement begins with thought. Knowing that all things proceed from thought is not enough; we should learn how to build upon that to create a success consciousness.
There are many successful people in this world, some great some small, but all are successful. These people did not simply wake up one morning and find their world had changed; no they followed a pattern and created their world to their liking. For an example a world famous chef creates a fabulous dish of excellent taste, well anyone can emulate that meal by simply following a recipe. So it is with our life, we can find someone who has done it before and follow their example and achieve the same results. You find that, by carefully following the instructions, that there is no mystery at all. When you have a genuine success consciousness it does not mean that you might succeed; it is a guaranteed definite promise of success.
To have and possess a success consciousness is the master key to this life; it is holding that state of mind so that you cannot see yourself as anything but a success. How this must be emphasized, read it again, write it on the wall in front of you, make a poster, and remember this! Know it to be true, because it is true, and it will become a force that causes you to be and do as you will.
What about those large projects, can you accomplish them? As the old proverb says; “you eat an elephant one bite at a time”. You can accomplish those huge tasks by breaking them into smaller tasks and then doing one task at a time. Can you physically get to the top of a stair case? When you are at the bottom looking up, it appears to be a daunting accomplishment, but you can get to the top. Not in a single action, you have to take one step at a time and soon enough you are at the top. The same principle applies to everything, can you climb a mountain? Yes one step at a time. Can you build an empire? Yes, one step at a time.
Let us further reinforce this point with an example. A friend of my daughter wanted to make a wooden sword, so as a gift I procured a piece of wood for him. However he had no knowledge of the use of tools or woodworking, and so the board sat in my shed and took up space. I reminded him of the wood, yet nothing was being done with it, until I helped him. I showed him how to make a cut with a saw, and asked him if he could do that, and he of course said yes. Then I showed him how to use a jig saw, and asked him if he could do it, and he said yes, then I showed him how to use a plane and a sander and he again said he could do that. So with a little coaching, we spent an afternoon in the yard and when he was done he had a wooden sword. He has now gone on to making fancier designs and finishes, and might even start his own flea market stand selling his handy work to offset the cost of all the tools he has since bought.
What he was not seeing was the process of turning a plain piece of wood into an object he desired. He did not know the steps required going from a board to a sword, but once he was shown he soon became very good at this hobby and made it a craft that soon may support him. He developed a success consciousness that he could turn an ordinary board into something that he desired.
Having a success consciousness will lead you to success in any direction you choose. If your desire is the building of a grand estate or a financial empire, a success consciousness will lead you exactly there. You must simply think of it the follow the steps to accomplish it. So what is the formula for building a success consciousness?
Because you need to know this I will give it to you, step by step. Know that anything accomplished by another can be accomplished by you. You have heard of many other people, who have gone from rags to riches, you have probably read about many a great accomplishment by seemingly ordinary people. They did not do anything that you can’t do, all you need is to think it and then do it. There are no barriers to the person man with the “I CAN-I WILL” spirit. You simply create an I CAN awareness, burn those four letters I C A N into your mind, avoid the use of the words hope, wish, and try, and emphasize the word CAN.
Every time you hear of, or view, the achievement of another, instead of quickly thinking “I CAN'T”; know that, if you desire to, you can achieve the same or better. Even though, you may not know how at the time, make the statement “I CAN”. Soon you will find that your mind, instead of being closed with the negative feeling that the task is beyond you, will begin to understand how simple it will be for you to accomplish.
The next step is to create an “I WILL” attitude. As soon as you get an objective which you know will help you, get started on it at once instead of putting it off until tomorrow, which never seems to come. Many people may have an I CAN attitude, but they cannot seem to get started. They have countless reasons why it will be best to start at some later date. This is called procrastination. Perhaps if we understand some of the reasons for procrastination, we will have less reason to procrastinate.
Starting a task requires more effort than to continue. Simply once the task is underway it continues on much more easily than the initial effort. In getting starting you must first think of what you're going to do first, and then how to do it. You must think about the tools and materials you'll need for the job; where they are and how to get them. Still even after these steps are taken, it takes a period of time to get into full swing. This causes people to spend much time in thinking about the task before getting started. This thinking stage should last for minutes, hours, or even a day or two. Procrastination kicks in when the thinking causes the days to become weeks and sometimes extend into months, or years.
Since time marches on, it is better to dwell on the time of completion instead of the time of beginning. This way, your mind will think of the happy ending, instead of the laborious beginning. Use this principle in connection with every task you put your hand to. Think of how good it will feel to have been done with the labor and enjoy the benefits, and then start the labor and soon you will enjoy the fruits.
The next step is to have a definite objective. It is well to know that you CAN do things and that you WILL do things; but, what is it that you will to do? Know what it is that you desire to accomplish, and make sure that it will make your life more successful, happier, and healthier. Then you will be ready for the next step. While this step seems a bit simple, it strangely is the one that most people have trouble with. So start small, and work big. If you desire to have a better color in your kitchen decide the color, buy the paint and the brushes and get to work, soon you will have your kitchen in your favorite color and will be happy. Decide what you want to happen, and then make it happen.
Now this next step is one you must pay attention to. Develop a “Do it now” attitude. After your objective has been examined and analyzed, and you find that you CAN do it, and WILL do it, apply your “Do it now” attitude; and DO it!
Once you have done these steps you now have a success consciousness. You will rejoice in the fact that you are the master of your circumstances; that they are not the master of you. If you are not happy with your life as it is, you now know that it is easily within your power to change it; to be and do as you will.
When a person starts anything with a success consciousness, they are guided to think the thoughts and do the things which will bring success. When they are prompted by mere wishing, they do the things which bring failure. Wishing is negative. We do not wish for the things we know we can get. Do you wish for a glass of water when you know that a simple trip to the faucet with a cup will fulfill that need? No you go and get it, so it is with all other things, if you wish for it and do nothing you fail, but if you know you can have it and go get it you will be satisfied.
To those who know anything at all about the workings of the mind, you are what you think. This is no mystery; if you hold a thought to the effect that a certain task will be difficult, your mind accepts the thought as an instruction and actually makes the task difficult. If, on the other hand, you enjoy a certain job and know that it will prove to be easy for you, your mind will accept that thought as an instruction, and will guide you in doing your work quickly and well.
Isn't it now quite clear to you that you are what you think you are; and that if you have not been getting as much out of life as you might have wished for, there is no one to blame except yourself? What would you think of a person that was starving to death and yet had a kitchen full of food? This question may appear ridiculous, unless you realize that so many people are doing virtually just that. They possess everything they need for health, wealth and happiness, yet without making use of their powers within, they just exist without enjoying the many blessings which could be theirs.
Knowledge is of no value unless you use it. Instead of just agreeing with me, give these ideas a chance to work for you. Practice, practice, and practice some more. Do not approach this with an "I wonder if they will work" attitude. They do work, they work for many others and they will work for you. You can begin developing a success consciousness: You can begin building an awareness that you have talent in any field you so choose.
Before going on with the rest of your day; pause a moment for contemplation. Review what you have read, if the contents do not clearly come back to you, read it again. It would be impossible to place a cash value on what you have just learned. Do not allow yourself to lose a bit of it.

How to Forget
There are many effective methods of memory training that are currently around and are offered to the public, but, to the best of my knowledge, there is no course teaching one how to forget. So today’s lesson is about how to forget the right way.
Let us build on the statement that it is the memories of the past and the fear of the future which make our present so difficult. We all know we only live in the present; you can not change the past, so why should you allow the past to affect your present? One of the main reasons why it is so hard to maintain positive thoughts in our minds, is our memories of our past hardships and failures. If your life has been a difficult one, you are likely to have a conflict of mental pictures, so when you try to visualize success your memories of the past come flooding in and seriously cripple your efforts. This means that your recalling of unpleasant situations from the past neutralizes the success for your future.
So now you understand why it is so important to develop your faculties of forgetting, but you have to forget in the proper way or you will end up making the mistakes of the past all over again. It is important to develop the ability to remember, you must discover the correct method of recalling so that your present life will not be controlled by events you no longer can control.
Let us examine the statement: You Are What You Think You Are! The impression you have of yourself is the accumulation of your experiences so far acquired throughout this lifetime. Since most people are inclined toward the negative side, it is most likely that you have a negative impression of yourself. In other words, you think of yourself as being destined by fate to live a hard life; and therefore, you do. Because what you think is what you are.
So what we need is a mental eraser. Just think if you had a mental eraser and could remove all of the unpleasant, negative pictures of your life, and then replace them with positive ones, then your future would be successful and happy. Now I know you will lose no time in using your mental eraser, once you have it, however there is one point that must be made clear: The memories and pictures of your past should be erased only as far as they affect your present activities, not completely removed from your memory.
During my life I have had many experiences, some very some bitter, and some very sad, and others excruciatingly painful, and through these experiences learned many things the hard way. Having said that, I wouldn't part with those memories now, they are what I was and did, not who I am and where I am going. These memories serve not as a guide but as a way of judging my progress; I can fully appreciate what I have, by comparing my present with my past.
So we now have this provocative dilemma: We should retain mental pictures of past experiences as a means of comparison; yet at the same time we should erase negative mental pictures so that positive ones may take over. You now ask; “How do we do this?” So let us get to the matter at hand.
Let us start with an overview of the process and then work into some details. The main idea and goal of solving this problem is to take all pictures of former events, unpleasant ones in particular, and place them in a separate memory files for future reference purposes only. We then edit all new pictures seeking admittance into our conscience, and quickly refuse those which might have a negative effect on our lives. An example is the old family album. In it you find pictures of great grandpa wearing what look to be very stuffy clothes and holding a lantern, and great grandmother cooking on a wood stove, or hand washing the laundry. You also find baby pictures of family members now long grown up, wearing cloth diapers, and pictures of children playing, and so on. None of us would like to look the way, or dress the way they did in the “old days" but it is nice to have the pictures as a means of comparing the past with the present.
You gain knowledge through past mistakes, so you must remember only the lesson, and not the pain. The word “If” is an important word here; it is the word that is the catalyst which will join your past experiences with future failure or success. There is no difference in external conditions; the difference is in the mind. If you accept the mental pictures of disaster (and, as you know thoughts are pictures and pictures are patterns) then there is nothing you can do but fail. However if you use your mental eraser, and erase the disaster pictures, taking care to put a copy in your mental album for future reference, and replace them with success pictures then there is nothing you can do but succeed.
So now to the nitty gritty part of the lesson, an exercise; we will begin thinking about thinking. As you think about thinking you will experience a great revelation: You will begin to get a glimpse of the gigantic reservoir of power you have at your command. Start off by examining every thought you have, some use pen and paper to help keep track, do as you will, but you must do this exercise. While examining your thoughts, begin to classify them as negative, positive, destructive, constructive, and so forth. Then the next step is to become very critical about the thoughts you allow to enter your mind. Each time you find a picture coming into consciousness which has any connection at all with failure, illness, or gloom, remove it.
There are two methods of removing these thoughts, find the one that works for you and use it often. The first method is to “fire” it. When a negative thought enters into your consciousness say to it firmly “cancel” (of course there are other more “fun” explicative’s but we cant list them here) and then change your thought to what you do desire. If the same thought keeps trying to come back fire it again and again as many times as you have to. Eventually this thought will no longer return and the new thought you used to replace it will come around often.
The next method requires more effort, when a negative thought enters your mind, capture it and examine it. Look at the details and find out what is false about it, what is silly, what is outrageous, and in so doing remove from it its power to affect your life, then bend it twist and force it to show the correct picture you desire. Bit by bit change its existence from a negative thought to a positive one.
Let us use an example to further illustrate the exercise. Let us say you have an important meeting coming up, a job interview for instance, and you begin to have negative thoughts. In the first method when the thought comes in “they wont hire me because…” and you see yourself walking away dejected and disappointed, you firmly say “Cancel” and then affirm instead that they will hire you as you are the best candidate for the position, and see yourself signing the hiring papers. You do this over and over until you have the correct feeling of confidence that they will indeed hire you. In the second method you when the same negative comes into your mind, you look at the picture, why are you walking away? Why are you dejected? And so on, then bit by bit change the picture to you are walking away exited, elated and happy, you got the job and for better pay than you asked for.
Just because you have failed at the same task in the past does not mean you will fail today, change the picture by using your mental eraser and soon you will find that the past is just that, the past, and your present is happy and your future is now looking brighter.
Think of this lesson as something far greater than just words on a screen, think of this as your newest key to abundance. Think of it as the password to a more enjoyable life. Allow yourself actually to sparkle with enthusiasm, become eager to prove that the principles outlined here will be just as effective for you as they have been for others. Then use the tactics you have just discovered, to do nothing will get you nowhere. You'll end up saying: "I read the article and didn't get a thing out of it," and it will be true.
Things begin to happen when you see them happening. This of course, refers to good and bad things. If you see dismal things happening, you are directing them to come into existence, causing the pictures to become realities. Be thankful, however, that the reverse is true. When you see good things happening, you are directing your forces to make those pictures realities.
Think about thinking! Erase all pictures which might have come into your mind because of the day's experiences. Replace them with mental pictures of the things that you desire to happen. Here we must cover one finale point: Avoid reverse positives. Sometimes a positive affirmation can be negative in results. As an example, assume that you are working a routine to overcome shyness. The mantra: "I will overcome my shyness," is a positive statement, but it creates a negative condition. It gives emphasis to the fact that you are timid and makes your condition all the more real. Instead, affirm that you like people and like to talk to people. There is nothing at all negative about such a statement.
Here is the formula to follow in creating mental pictures that will not react in a negative manner: Picture the condition you desire; not the condition you are attempting to overcome. To say: "I will not fail" is negative; to say: "I am a success" is positive. The thought: "I will not be weak" is negative, whereas the expression: "I am getting stronger every day" is positive.
Practice the exercises given, with the assurance that the results will lift you to whatever heights you choose. You can be and do whatever you will to.

How to Become Smarter
As we just mentioned; a mind which is not kept active will become less alert and will lose its brilliance and intelligence. So it is logical to assume that you must exercise your mind, as well as your physical body. We are all familiar with the benefits of exercise for the body, but it is rarely touched on about exercising the mind. As to relative importance, of the two types, mental exercise should have the priority, in fact, physical exercises should be coordinated with the mind to achieve the maximum results. Any trainer can tell you that you will gain far greater results from the type of exercise you enjoy, than you will from the exercise you force yourself to do. Biking, walking, tennis, or whatever you choose, will help you far more than following a routine of motions that are boring.
Happiness is relaxing, and muscles respond to exercise more quickly when you are relaxed than when you are tense. So it is with mental conditions which correspond with tenseness and relaxation. If your mind is tense, because of a number of disturbing thoughts attempting to enter, your thinking is not fully developed. You will have difficulty in thinking through your problems, and will be unable to make correct decisions. This little discussion will help you to stimulate and develop your mental faculties, the rewards will be great, and you will find yourself reaching a higher level of delight as you begin developing a quick thinking mind.
The number one emotional crippler among us humans is frustration. Fortunately for us frustration is not an incurable mental disorder. It is simply the product of an uncontrolled mind. If you allow disturbing thoughts to take over and block all rational thinking, you become almost panicked as your imagination sees yourself thwarted by many problems. You become entangled in a self destructive loop of thinking and soon can not see a way out of your troubles.
So the first thing you must do is simple, but so few people actually do it, is writing it down. Pick up a sheet of paper and name your problems, put them in a list so you can see what might be done. You will find that you can easily write down number one, and then it may take a few moments before you can set number two on paper. Then it will take a bit longer to find number three, and some concerted effort to think of and write down number four. Rarely will people be able to think of a number five, and even fewer ever come up with a number six. You will be amazed that the huge amount of problems and troubles you thought you had were actually so few, and some even so minor that they could be cured in an afternoon. You will have discovered that a state of frustration had taken your life away, and had completely occupied your mind, but with a little calm thinking your world was soon made right again.
Next we will discuss “Feeble mindedness”; it is a term that is often misused. When we think of someone as being feebleminded, we think of them as being a hopeless case. This is not always true; usually it is a result of an inactive mind. When you are thinking about plans you are engaging your mind, you are exercising it. This can be from such activities such as puzzles, crafts, reading, painting, gardening, and other “recreational” hobbies that we all have. Every person has a hobby, something you like to do, such as building model ships, growing flowers, etc. Since you like that activity, use it to your advantage and practice it frequently. Also try new hobbies from time to time so that your thinking does not grow stale.
Then there is the common ailment; Forgetfulness. This “condition” is often caused by having a disorganized mind. When our mind is in a state of turmoil, our powers of recall are lessened. Then when we try to remember any fact, it is slow in coming. So we erroneously accept the thought that we are becoming forgetful and, as we encourage such a condition, (by verbally affirming it) and we grow more forgetful. It is obvious that the memories of those with well disciplined minds are much keener than those with confused minds. So to “cure” your forgetfulness you need simple change your statement to “I’ll think of it in a moment” and do some mental exercises.
The symptoms of the three “F’s” (frustration, feeble mindedness, and forgetfulness) are sure signs that your mind is not being exercised. So it is a matter of causing your self to think, and any practice of exercises which causes you to think is of great value to you. You will be absolutely amazed to discover how quickly the mind will respond and that in a very short time you will notice major improvement in your ability to think calmly, quickly, and logically.
Let us discuss now some of those mental exercises. There is the game we learned as kids while in the car, using license plates. Take the numbers of one license plate and add them to the numbers of the next license plate, then add them all together to come up with a “hard” number. For example the first car has the numbers 1 and 4, and the next car has the numbers 3, 6, and 2. 14 plus 362 equals 376, then 3 plus 7 plus 6 equals 16, then 1 plus 6 equals 7, this is your hard number. Then do the next two cars to come up with another hard number, when your hard numbers add up to ten you are done. If you go over ten add those two numbers together to come up with a new hard number and keep going until you end up with ten. For example hard number 7 from the first exercise, is added to hard number 5 from the second exercise for a totally of 12, then add 1 to 2 that equals 3 and this is your new hard number. Continue until you can make a hard total of ten. If the traffic is too light use mile markers, destination and highway signs for the numbers.
The quizzes, and number or word puzzles which you find in newspapers, and magazines also help to stimulate the mind. Crossword puzzles not only add new words to your vocabulary, but also stimulate your mind as you have to think. As you continue to work with them, you will notice that words come to your mind much faster than they did when you first began to do them. Soon you will be looking forward to the daily paper for the new Sudoku, or word jumble, or crossword puzzle. You may even go out and buy those small books of your favorite type of puzzle, my wife likes to buy and work the word find puzzles.
Another great exercise is speed reading. Learning how is good practice for your mind process. There are many methods of speed reading to choose from, and courses can be found ranging from free to major investment. Start with the free courses, and if you choose to later, you can buy a course or two. Reading faster speeds up your thinking, and this of course, tends toward sharpening your mind, and aids you most rapidly in the other areas of your life that you choose to improve.
In association with your mental exercises, be certain to use your mind correctly. Use positive affirmations for the maximum effect. Most people, when called upon to arrive at some solution which requires their concentrated thinking, will immediately say: "Oh, I can't do that." This, of course, is a sure way to block the mental processes. By this verbal affirmation you have just blocked your own thinking so that a logical solution will not be forthcoming. Always speak the positive, say things like: “This will be fun” or “This looks like a fun challenge” and so on. Build on the thought that these mental exercises are easy for you and that you will gain great benefits. Develop the awareness that your mind is becoming more active every day. It is interesting, and enjoyable, to discover your mind is becoming more relaxed, faster, and alert.
To sum up this conversation; exercise your mind and you will become happier and smarter.
