How To Determine What You Want In Life
What do you really want in life?
Most people don’t discover what they want in life until it’s time to die – and that’s a shame.
Most people spend the best years of their lives watching television or doing things they dislike. An author described humanity by saying, “Most people die at twenty and are buried at eighty.” Are you one of the living zombies?
What do you really want in life?
Some people struggle in answering such question. When asked what they want or what their goals in life are, many are unsure. They dillydally in their decision, hardly giving any thought about what they want in life. People without definite goals are letting time pass them by. Are you one of these people?
If you are undecided about what you want out of life, do not worry. There are many ways of discovering your purpose in life.
To discover what you want in life, try looking deep into your heart. Oftentimes, people are ruled by logic. People live by what they think they should be or by what others like them to be. The discovery process is the perfect time to listen to your heart. What your heart desires comes from the whispers of your authentic self. Your authentic self is the real you.
Listen to your heart to be able to listen to your authentic self. What your heart says usually feels right. What your heart desires is what you usually love to do and this represents your passion. Anything done with passion is like play where the task is accomplished without hesitation. You pour out your very best and feel no pressure or resistance.
You will totally enjoy doing things that are your passion. Setbacks, difficulties, and obstacles will make it more challenging, but should not deter you from pursuing your goals. Naturally, there may be barriers that may prevent you from reaching your goal, but your heart’s desire will find ways to overcome these barriers so that you may ultimately get what you want in life. Remember this: the universe supports people who are pursuing their passion and those who are pursuing their destiny.
However, this does not mean that you don’t use your head. People are born with both the mind and heart. Your duty is to live your best life and be in harmony with your mind and heart. The poet Rumi wisely said, “Live completely in the head and you cannot feel the breath and rhythm of life. Live completely in the heart and you may find yourself acting like a love-struck fool with poor judgment and discipline. It’s all a fine balance - the head and heart must forge a lifetime partnership if one wants to live a beautiful life.”
Listen to your instinct. Part of human nature is the mysterious and spontaneous reaction on things. Often times, these are called instincts. Your authentic self communicates with you and guides you via instincts. Instincts are those gentle nudges that urge you to act and follow a certain path. Your role then is to listen attentively.
Often times, we listen to what others say and allow them to run our lives. Parents often do this to their children. “We come from a family of doctors, so my son must also be a doctor.” How often do we hear this from parents who have good intentions for their children? Parents unconsciously block the true expression of their child’s real self and calling. Friends and critics will discourage you and point out the impossibility of your dream. Before heeding their advice, evaluate the accomplishments of the critics. Did they achieve theirs dreams? Do they dream big at all?
Remember, it is your destiny that is in line, not theirs. It doesn’t mean, though, that you will not listen to what other people say. Hear them out just the same. But the final decision should be yours.
There is only thing to remember: Every person, to live truly and greatly, must define how he wants to live and what his brightest life will look like. Listen to your instincts and follow your heart’s desire. You will never go wrong.
Be Blessed

Two Ways to Be Happy Now
There are hundreds if not thousands of things and situations that make people happy. Some of these are simple like a good joke, while others are more involved like graduation from school. The combinations are endless, yet many people do not maintain their happiness.
Most people think that happiness is fleeting, a temporary state of affairs. Then they get all serious and often turn dour, that means less than happy. The truth is that happiness is yours for the taking, and you can have happiness all the time.
The first way to be happy
It is a given that being happy brings more happiness, in a never-ending cycle of everyone getting happy. If you are not happy you need to find someone who is and then hang around with him or her for a while, their happiness will start to rub off on you.
I am sure you know a happy person, just go and have a conversation with them, enjoy the moment. Don’t worry about discovering the secret to the meaning of life, or learning rocket surgery, just enjoy the feeling of happiness that you begin to have just because you are in the vicinity.
Yes, happiness is contagious, and you can catch it from others, as well as pass your happiness around to people that come within your area of influence. Smiling is a side effect of happiness, and we all know that smiling is also contagious.
The second way to be happy
You must be happy now to bring happiness into your life, you cannot be happy tomorrow; you cannot plan to be happy later. Now is the only time to be happy. As explained before happiness attracts happiness.
If you are feeling down for no apparent reason, and there is no happy person to go hang out with, then you have to make yourself happy. Try to remember a time or an event that made you happy. Maybe a funny situation, a good joke that always makes you laugh, pictures of the family, pictures of someone else family, something that gave you that good feeling of happiness.
Once you start to feel happy, you will continue to feel happier, it has been proven hundreds of times that you can infect yourself with happiness. If you are not smiling, force yourself to smile, this simple act often releases whatever is blocking your happiness.
Allow yourself to be happy, all the daily problems we all face are blessings in disguise, look for the blessing and you will find that the problem is not as world ending as you thought. While there is life, there is hope, nothing in this world is worth extra worry. Worry about it once, then let go of the worry and go back to being happy.
Live happy and live better
You will find that life in general is good when you are happy. No matter what is going on around you, maintaining your happiness will change everything. People will want to hang around with you, your smile will be greeted with smiles in return, and those that you deal with on a regular basis will be glad to have you around.
The opposite of happy is just no way to live, why would you ever want to go back to not having happiness in your life. You can do so much more when you are happy, and what you do you enjoy because it brings you more happiness.

The Famous Paragraph 10
Everyone is familiar with Catch 22, where you are either kept out or kept in a situation because of the rules, but you really cannot do either but somehow have to do both. In the book of the same name, it goes that you cannot be crazy and fly, yet you have to be crazy to fly. There are other familiar catch 22’s, like you cannot get a job without experience, but you cannot get experience without a job.
Then there is the paragraph 10. I am unsure of the original book, and it does sound like Douglass Adams, but I could be mistaken, as it could be another author from another book that I am unsure of where I read it so I am unsure of the original book…. Wait, were being sucked into a paragraph 10.
Well this article is about Paragraph 10
The paragraph 10 is where a cycle gets started, and of its own volition continues to spiral ever larger without losing its meaning. There are quite a few examples, such as: When you gain self-confidence, you gain self-esteem that causes you to gain self-confidence that in turn gains you self-esteem that causes you to gain self-confidence that in turn gains you self-esteem that in turn gains self-confidence that causes you to gain self-esteem.
Another common paragraph 10 is one you probably learned as a kid, the old; I know that you know, that you know that I know, that I know that you know that I know, that I know that you know that I know that you know that I know.
You probably know quite a few paragraph 10s and catch 22s. It seems that we all have and know a lot of them, and they can and do affect our lives, especially when we are not aware of them at first. The one that will get you the most is the paragraph 10.
When you do something and it has an effect, and you do not act in a manner to control the effect, then it will spiral of its own volition with a never-ending result. A classic example is; if you worry a lot, then you get a lot to worry about, that causes you to worry, so you end up worrying a lot. No, I am not going to type that a whole bunch of times.
What to do about paragraph 10
When you find yourself in paragraph 10 situations, and it is spiraling against you as in the example above, you need to do something to end it. To do that is easy, such as change your thought to something else. If it is physical then you need to make a physical action of doing something different.
The key to the whole thing is recognizing that you are in a paragraph 10 situation. If it is working out well for you, then by all means let it continue, on the other hand if it is working against you, then we need to end it, or reverse it.
Be Blessed

The Secret of Happiness and Success
To have success is also to have happiness. While success means different things to each of us, without success we are not happy. Being successful is a two-part process; first, there is determination and second there is belief. The secret is that both of these begin in the mind.
You cannot be happy if you allow others to decide your fate, to allow life to just rather push you along life a leaf in a river. This will create resentment, lost opportunity, conflict, and more importantly; unhappiness in your life.
We all must choose our own life; you are responsible for your life, your success, and your happiness. Nobody can do it for you, for example if I eat a pizza, will you feel full? If I take a shower, will you smell better? Of course not, but I hope that helps you to understand that you are who is in charge of your life.
The conscious decision
We all make choices every day, what to eat, what to wear, and so on. The big decision we must make is what to do. We decide what to do, and it is this choice that we must be aware of, if we are to achieve our success and happiness.
We must be prepared mentally, spiritually, and physically to make the choices that affect our lives. To do any less is to surrender to being just another face in the crowd, to being an anonymous member of society. We must determine what it is that means success to us, what does success mean to you is the thought that must be present in your mind at all times.
Choosing the direction
If you go to a bus station and ask for a ticket, the teller will request a destination. If you do not tell the teller a destination, you will not get a ticket to ride. Just as in your life: If you do not know where you are going, you will never get anywhere.
You decide what you want to do, and where you want to go. Without a clear idea of what you want to be means that you get what is left over from other peoples efforts, if anything at all. There is no such thing as something for nothing, everything has a cost. To not choose costs you any chance of success, to not know what you want costs you your happiness.
Making the choice
Decide first what it is that you desire, what do you desire to do or be? You can take this first, and most important, step towards success and happiness. Without this destination, there can be no journey.
Then determine that it shall be, that it will happen, that you will make it happen, that it will be yours. Feel the burning desire to see it through to completion, and you will start taking the steps needed to make your desire a reality in your life.
Then have faith in yourself. When you first start an endeavor you have to have a little faith, you are learning new things, doing new things, and you will get better as time goes on, but at first, it will seem difficult, and that is why you need to have faith to get you through the start up.
Soon after you begin, you will notice that your skills are getting better, that your ability to do things becomes easy and second nature. This is where faith turns into belief. Now you know you can, you can prove it, you can have it, and you can do it.
Then you will have success, you will have happiness, and above all: you will have your own life.
Be Blessed

True Happiness is There for The Taking
Regardless of what you may have been thinking you can have happiness in your life. If you feel like you are bored with your life, then you are not doing what it is that you should be doing. If you are not doing what you should be doing with your life then it is time to make a change.
If you have ever had goals or dreams and then gave them up for “real” life, you may be frustrated. You may even think you have obstacles or fears holding you back from accomplishing the goals you had. Because of this you are not happy. Well my friend, it is time to get past the obstacles and make your dreams happen.
Your life is yours to live
All of us have a passion about something, be it gardening, child care, rocket surgery, and what have you. Do you know your passion? It is your passion that will bring you true happiness, so you need to discover what your passion is and bring it to fulfillment.
We all are seeking happiness, some of us get temporary highs and think this is happiness, it is close but not good enough. Like the athletes who runs a race, their body gives them a big dose of endorphins, and they feel good. They enjoy the high and think this is true happiness, then the endorphins wear off and so does their happiness.
The way to get your true happiness is to find your passion and do it, both as a way to make you happy and as a career. Every passion has the capability of making money, we should not sit around and avoid our passion because we might think we cannot financially survive on it. We can survive, if we figure out the angle to make it happen we will more than survive, we will thrive.
Seeking out your purpose
One way to discover your passion is to do long hours of therapy and counseling. Another is to get feedback from friends and family as to what they think you are good at, and another is to seek the answer from yourself.
One of the best and cheapest ways to seek the answer from yourself is to meditate. Now don’t go getting all tense because of a word, stay with me for a moment and you will discover a secret.
Many people associate meditation with a religion and so think it is wrong as you would be unfaithful to your religion. Using meditation does not mean you belong to a cult, or some other strange and mysterious sect. Meditation is a tool, nothing more. For those who think they are doing anything religiously wrong are simply missing out on something extremely important.
Meditation can help you bring true happiness into your life, and the practice could be exactly what you need to balance out your life. Meditation is one of the most effective ways to change your well being, and it has been proven that meditation generates brain activity on the left side, which produces a positive emotion in the body.
Your life is your happiness
Seeking answers from your self will lead to better and more productive results. It is your life, and to be happy requires you to live your life the way you want to live it, not the way others think you should no matter how well intentioned they are.
If your mom wants you to work at the post office, and you want to be a rocket surgeon, what will happen to your life if you live like your mom wants you too. Will you be happy, or will your mom be happy? While working for the post office may make a decent living you will not be doing what your passion is, you will not have true happiness.
You, and you alone are inside your skin, and you and you alone feel the emotions that are inside you. If I eat a pizza, do you feel full? You must live for you and your happiness.
Be Blessed

Success and True Happiness Begins In The Mind
Success is characterized in various forms; it also has many meanings depending on what you are seeking for in this life. To some success can mean obtaining that gold medal, to others it can mean a job promotion or acquiring wealth. It actually depends on one’s perspective of the life that one has.
Understandings of success perceptions are as abundant as there are stars in the sky. One apparent thing about success is that every individual has to determine the true meaning of success in his or her own life. Those who walk through life attempting to accomplish “success” through someone else’s standards or for someone else will continuously be lacking true happiness.
True happiness is your own life
The modern dictionary defines success as that certain measure or degree of achievement or accomplishment or as a desirable and favorable outcome. This translates as setting and completing goals.
One should make a decision on what one truly wants in their life, and what it is that they can do to achieve that outcome. For only by accomplishing your own goals, that you have set, can you realize happiness.
To accomplish success, one has to set realistic goals for their life, goals that can be achieved. One should measure success as to how close one comes to accomplishing one’s goals. Goals are outcomes that one has set for their self, based on one’s skills and abilities. Sometimes these skills must be learned, developed, and then used to accomplish the goal.
Know that one’s “subconscious mind” is a very incredible and powerful tool that one has yet to improve and utilize it wisely to its complete capacity, to accomplish success.
To fully understand how powerful and encouraging your “subconscious mind” can be, you should understand first and recognize that there really is no “coincidence”, that nothing in life occurs just by chance. Meaning, nothing is predestined, that you have the power to control your life, to control your success and your failure.
You have the power to change certain aspects of your life that you are not content with, you and you alone are the responsible party for making your life happy.
The secret of success
Expectation, belief and desire are three powerful forces that can help one to lead a life of true happiness. Before anything that one wishes for to occur can happen, one must desire for it to happen, should believe deeply that it will happen and then should expect that it will happen.
The “subconscious mind” generates all things in your life based on the information and messages you send to it. You are continuously sending the mind information, and most information sent is useless or worse; negative information, that will function against you.
It will be truly difficult to find success if you are not specific and clear regarding what you believe for yourself. It is then extremely important that you assess and gauge your actions, thoughts, and motives as you live your daily life.
You should figure out where you are and what are you doing, both what you are doing wrong as well as what you are doing right. This is where you should be ready to change for the better when and as it is needed.
Always remember that whatever you believe, whatever you think, this information is sent “subconscious mind”, and this in turn is converted into actions that you perform.
You think, therefore you are
So be very careful of your thoughts, and beliefs, as they are great influences to your success, and ultimately your happiness. As an example; if you worry constantly about not acquiring enough finances, then you will really won’t; thinking that you do not have the capability to accomplish your goals, then you will never achieve any; thinking that there not enough open opportunities, then there will never be.
To achieve true happiness you must have goals in your life, things that you desire to have, or do, or be. While all things take time to come into existence, they never will if you do not first think of them, and then act towards their creation.
When you do accomplish your goal, stop and relish that pleasure of achieving a goal. This feeling is happiness, and the greater the goal the greater the happiness.
Be Blessed

A New Day and A New Life of Happiness
I am Happy
Here it is my favorite day of the week, Saturday.
Every morning I wake up and am thankful to be alive,(after a moment or two) this tells me that I still have a purpose on this earth, and I need to get to it.
We all desire to be happy, and one way to be happy is to have a reason, a purpose in life. If you do not have a grand purpose then maybe just a purpose for today.
Let me elaborate; If you are looking forward to something you are happy, and are driven to accomplish that goal. Let us use the example of going to a theme park. You wake up the morning of the event are looking forward to going on the rides, eating cotton candy and funnel cakes, seeing the exibits and shows, and of course lets not forget the souveniers.
The morning you wake up for that day you are happy, your thoughts are not on whatever problems you may have but only on the fun you are about to experience. This is what happiness is all about, enjoying the moment, and having fun.
This leads us to being happy every day. Happiness is something you experience as you fulfill a purpose. For one day at the theme park you are happy. What would make you happy every day? A purpose of course.
Ask yourself what is your purpose today, maybe it is to take the kids to their play or recital, maybe it is to groom your pets, maybe it is to finish a project that you started. There is something to look forward to every day, all you have to do is find out what it is.
If you have a grand purpose then you are blessed and are truly on the path to lasting happiness. If you know you are to be of service to the world, or accomplish some greater good for humanity, then you have true happiness as you are on a path and your life has a purpose.
However if you don't have a grand purpose yet, then seek the one for today. You woke up alive for a reason, for a purpose, so go do it and it will lead you to happiness.
Be Blessed

The Way of the Happiness Warrior
Today we talk about what it means to be happy. First off we ask why we should be happy. Well, just to state the obvious, being happy makes us feel good. Feeling good makes us enjoy life, and enjoying life makes us content.
What is a happiness warrior?
Going about your day with the goal of making other people happy is harder than one would think. This is not to say go around being a clown all day, but rather to look for ways to cheer people up. Of course, smiling all day is good, as it is contageous.
Unfortunatly there are people out there who are determined to be sour, and to try to spread their anti-happiness where ever they tread. Then of course there are those who are just mean, and are attracted to happy people just so they can try to ruin their day.
These are the people we are here to counter, thus this makes us happiness warriors. We will go behind them and repair the shattered ids and egos of those who were not strong enough to withstand the assaults of the sour and the mean, and we will offer friendship and happiness to comfort those who have suffered at the hands of the sour or mean.
When we confront the sour and the mean we will stay positive and keep smiling, of course this will drive them crazy and they will try even harderr to break us. We will withstand the onslaught and resist the unhappiness. The cool thing here is we can point out the obvious without being too confrontational.
We can ask why they are so sour or why they are so mean. We can ask why nobody likes them, why nobody cares about them, and why people are happy when they leave. This of course will get responses, and we must be repaired for some scathing retort, but we have stopped their spread of unhappiness, and have improved the happiness of all around us.
To be a happiness warrior is to accept that you are just doomed to always be happy, and to stay happy even in the face of adversity.
In the near future I will post some tips on staying happy regardless of circumstances, so stay tuned.
Be Blessed

(kinda like the meow game) So I am happy that you are happy, and if you are not happy then you need to stay tuned to all the future posts that will talk about being and becomming happy.

Tips to change your life
Set realistic goals. The ability to focus on the task at hand will always be successful, to only focus on giant goals far in the future will result in a long hard road, and we want to have fun. So keep the giant goal for later and set smaller goals that you can achieve easily, like lose one pound at a time and eat a balanced diet every day.
• Stay on track and if you fall off get right back on. Start with the sensible eating, and if you cannot resist and attack a large plate of food, forgive yourself and restart your plan where you left off. Stay with it, and soon you will no longer have those food attacks, and will be a slimmer you.
• Listen to your body. Each person’s body reacts differently to different weight loss plans, so you may have to try different plans to see which one will work for you. If one plan seems to not be working, then substitute for a different program. Whatever you do, just do not quit and you will succeed.
• The same goes for your exercise program. To get the most weight loss the activity must be suitable to one's body. To ask a 500-pound woman to get off the couch and swim across the Atlantic would only end up in disaster. So find what is right for you. Just keep in mind that muscle looks far better than fat, so if you cannot seem to lose weight, then turn your fat into muscle.
• A little self-discipline goes a long way, and is cheaper than pills and surgery for weight loss. Just change one little thing at a time, you do not have to try to change all your habits in one day. Consistent effort is the best practice, stick with the plan and depending on your effort, it will work sooner than later.
For that weight loss success, remember: Light dieting, the right workout, and the right amount of supplements everyday will result in faster weight loss than not doing anything.
Be Blessed

Weight Loss to Have a Happy Life
When you are overweight, you suffer from many ailments as well as low self-esteem, and a poor quality of life. Weight loss programs do not always address the life part, just the weight part of your problem.
Sure, you know that heart disease, stroke, diabetes, hypertension, and other serious illness are more common among overweight people, but did you know that there is a quality of life issue too?
Losing weight helps to prevent and control diseases
When you get down to a healthy weight, you are at a much-reduced chance for any of those serious diseases to affect you. With good eating and activity habits, you will remain free of the complications that being overweight causes.
You will lead a good healthy lifestyle, and that will result in good health. It will make for a much higher quality of life, as you will be able to do what you want when you want to. You will no longer have to consider your weight before you go to do something.
If you do not have your health, you do not really have anything
With poor health, you cannot do the things you desire, all you can do to satisfy those desires is to substitute food for them, which leads to even more weight problems, and therefore more unfulfilled desires. A deadly whirlpool of destruction, but you can give yourself the gift of a better life.
By choosing a weight loss program and sticking to it, you will increase your quality of life, as well as your life span. You will be able to enjoy so many more things in life, and this will lead to happiness.
With poor health, the most activity you can do is go see the doctor, with good health you can go and do almost anything you desire to do. Of course, some things will require you to learn a skill before you do them, like mountain climbing, but you can do that if you choose to because you have your health.
Weight loss is a lifestyle change
One thing that people seem to ignore is that a weight loss program must be for life. You cannot take a pill, lose weight and keep it off. If you keep doing what you are doing you will keep getting what you have now. To achieve something different you will have to do something different.
Pick a weight loss plan that you think you can sustain for the rest of your life. Do you think you could only eat tofu and eggplant everyday for the rest of your life? Probably not, look for something that offers a variety of recipes and choices in food. You are going to change the way you eat, and you are going to change it for life.
Choose an activity you like
Exercise in the gym is just too overwhelming for someone just starting out to change their life. Choose something easy like walking, dancing, or bicycling. Then when you are in much better shape, you may very well choose the gym, as there are a lot of friendly people there.
Increase your daily activity; park further away from the store so you can walk longer, take the stairs not the elevator, if it is a short distance walk instead of taking the car, do some extra chores around the house instead of enduring another repeat of a show. In this way, you will teach yourself to not be afraid of exerting yourself, and this will make you more likely to lose weight and keep it off.

Being Happy Through Weight Loss
Weight Loss is For The Rest of our Live
A diet alone cannot make somebody lose weight. The weight loss that we seek is more than eliminating excess fat from the body; we actually want a better life. To start and stop diets, results in frustration and makes us think we are destined to be fat for the rest of our lives.
There is the key, “the rest of our lives”, we must be willing to start and stay on a weight loss program for the rest of our lives. There it is, finally, after looking for so long you have just found the secret to weight loss success.
You are what you think
Look at you, then look at the way you are. Being overweight is just not as fun as you thought it would be. You are overweight for a variety of reasons, everyone has that in common, and what those reasons are must be forgiven. If you grew up overweight, or became overweight as an adult you must now change, or stay overweight.
A diet alone should never be used as the sole weight loss procedure, you will see minimal results. You will need to add activity as well as a mindset that you will have a better and healthier life.
A weight loss plan must include a balanced diet, as well as an increase in activity. Whether you exercise, play a sport, take up an activity such as bike riding, or even long walks is up to you, but you have to have the second part to lose weight and keep it off.
Permanent weight loss is possible
The way you are now, and what you do now makes being overweight permanent. If you do not change this behavior, you will stay overweight. Realize the truth that a weight loss program is for the rest of your life. That you cannot lose a few pounds and then go back to the way you were.
You must never go back to the way you were, the change you seek would not yield permanent results with temporary efforts. You must stay with it for the rest of your life. You are in charge of your life, not your fat, not your parents, not your friends. You and you alone are responsible for you.
You must choose a weight loss plan that will fit you, something that you can do for the rest of your life. That includes eating right and exercise. The key here is variety, being able to choose different things to eat and different activities to do will lead to your weight loss success.
Exercise is not something to be feared
Often when the work exercise is used people will immediately become defensive and put off. To most of us exercise hurts, is uncomfortable and unpleasant. So find some activity that you can enjoy. To some workouts at the gym are great, to others brisk walks are the ticket. Try a few different activities and see what you like to do, then do it.
When you get bored of that activity, replace it with another activity. If you get bored with long walks, take up biking. If you get bored with the gym, try dancing lessons. Always have an activity that you do at least three times a week for twenty minutes or more.
You can succeed with weight loss, you just have to keep on the plan you chose. You can only fail if you quit, so don’t quit.
Be Blessed

Happiness Through Health
Hello again to you all
So what did I do with the happiness theme? You have probably been wondering why I have been on the weight loss kick lately. Well it has to do with my neighbors. Then you are wondering why I no longer talk about happiness.
Over the years neighbors have come and gone, some were good and we were sorry to see them leave, others were bad and we were happy to see them go, and this current batch seems to all be fat. Not a little overweight but just fat.
I have been talking to them a lot about weight loss, because they are fat. They complain about their health alot too. They fight with each other more than any other I have seen, they are just not a happy bunch.
This kind of proves my point that health leads to happiness. If they were not so fat they would not complain about their health so much, and would probably fight less as they would have more money for other stuff besides food.
Being overweight causes their health problems, like high blood pressure, pre-diabetes as well as diabetes, heart problems, breathing problems, and sore legs, feet and backs from all the extra weight they carry. If they lost about 100 pounds each they would all feel better and would be happier.
Good health leads to happiness, when you have your health you are worried less, and you can be more active. The heat bothers you less, the chores are easier, and life in general is just better.
I am seeing for myself the effects of obesity on people. I myself am well within my weight limits, a 32 waist, thats good for a 6 foot guy, not even close to what size these people are. There is one guy who is so fat he is trying to get on disability for his weight.
So if you are still wondering why I am talking about being healthy, now you know. Happiness is a state of mind, but there are other things that make you happy too. Like good health!

The Fat Free Weight Loss Trap
If you are learning about weight loss there is something you must know. There is a huge misconception going around today that low fat and fat free foods are good for you. These foods still have calories, and most of those calories are known as an empty calorie, as it does nothing to improve or nourish the body.
The foods that have the huge low fat and fat free labels are usually junk food. Low fat candy bars? Fat free potato chips? Come on people just because it may not be as bad for you as they once were doesn’t make them good for you.
Am I asking you to give up your junk food? Of course not, just eat less of it. One candy bar a week is plenty; make it your Saturday afternoon treat, but to eat one or two every day is just asking to put yourself or keep yourself in the overweight crowd.
The weight loss plan
Now a lot of people are seeking various weight loss techniques because they have gained a little too much weight and now it is a problem. It is never too late to start a weight loss program; the sooner you start the easier it is.
It is common knowledge, almost legend that most people who start a weight loss regime fail. They lose a few pounds then go back to their old ways and not only gain all those pounds back, but often a few more as well.
The reason those people failed is that they quit, if you start a weight loss program you cannot fail if you do not quit. Don’t go all guilt trip just because you could not resist a candy bar in the middle of the week, or you had seconds at the buffet, just get up the next morning and continue your program that you started.
The reason to eat right
As you are probably well aware, being overweight is more than just a cosmetic condition that may make you less attractive to the opposite sex. Being overweight also has some significant health risks and can cause self-esteem issues. There is no good reason to be overweight. Therefore, you need to get on and stick with a weight loss plan.
We have all been taught in school what it is to eat right. We know about the food pyramid, and the required daily values we need to survive and be healthy. It seems that we have begun to ignore that knowledge out of convenience. It is much easier to eat food that someone else has already prepared, so we do not have to expend any effort to enjoy it, all we need to do is stuff it into our face.
Depending on your activity level, you need a certain caloric intake to maintain that level. If you are a professional athlete, you have a much higher calorie need than a person who sits on the couch and watches sports. The problem here is that the person on the couch consumes as many calories as the athlete, yet has way less activity. Therefore, the person on the couch gains weight.
The secret to weight loss
The best way to lose weight and keep it off is portion control. There are many charts and books of charts out there that will tell you what activities burn what calories. All you need do is write down your normal activities and then look them up in the chart to see how many calories you burn in a day. On the same note, many publications tell you how many calories a food has. So write down what you eat in a day.
You will probably be shocked to find out that you eat many times what you burn off. This is the reason you are learning about weight loss. If you are burning 1500 calories a day, and you are eating 3500 calories a day, you are gaining weight. To stop this you either need to increase your activity level to match what you are burning to what you are eating, or decrease your intake to match your activity.
Portion control is the solution
The best weight loss plan is a combination of decreasing your caloric intake and at the same time increasing your activity to burn off your stored calories. At first, you may be a little disappointed at the size of your meals, but as you see the pounds melting off you will be happy to stick with them.
One of the first things you must do is called the “push away” technique. Push away from the table when you start to feel satisfied. Satisfied is better than full, it allows you to continue to function normally without any restrictions. Push away when you offered seconds, push away from the large piece of dessert, push away from the extra roll. With just a little practice, this becomes second nature and is so easy you will wonder how you ever ate so much in the past.
Then to help you to fight hunger, especially when you are first starting a weight loss regime, have a snack that is healthy for you. When that hunger strikes, drink a glass of water and eat a light snack such as a rice cake or a granola bar. Only one, do not make a meal of them, just a light snack. If you are still hungry, drink another glass of water.
You can succeed if you do not quit. To quit is to fail. You can achieve weight loss, and lead a happy and healthy life if you start and never quit.
Be Blessed.

Confidence Leads to True Happiness
All About Manifesting
Having confidence means having poise, assurance, coolness, and other traits that are desirable. But to have self confidence is to know and realizing your self-worth. True Happiness is derived from inside your self. This is about you, the person you are in life. We give others respect, love and consideration but how often do we give ourselves what is due?
What we give ourselves is based on self esteem; your self-esteem essentially shows you how much you value yourself. Healthy self-esteem leads to happiness, flexibility, the ability to adapt, and a positive outlook on life. Low self-esteem leads only to irrational thoughts, unhappiness, fear, and a negative outlook on life in general. If we are seeking true happiness then we need to understand a bit about our self.
How we see ourselves is how others perceive us, if we are happy, smiling and full of confidence then others see us as someone they want to be around, if we respect ourselves then others will respect us in return, Having self confidence will cause the world around us to grant us our true happiness. While have low self esteem will cause the world around us to make us miserable.
So let us look at some of the traits so you can determine if you need some self improvement to get your confidence level where it should be so that you can finally get some true happiness.
Now these traits are general and not all inclusive, if you feel you might match some of these then you do need a bit of self improvement to get some true happiness. The first one is that you don’t believe in yourself and are very insecure. This leads to you having problems showing and accepting intimacy in relationships because you never let your true feelings show. The next one is that you never recognize and give yourself credit for your accomplishments, when you accomplish something even if you are given due credit, you belittle it and purposely devalue yourself and your contribution. The last one is that you have the inability to forgive yourself or others and so you resist change at every opportunity
Did any of that seem to apply to you? If so you need to work on your self. That means self improvement. Don’t get all worried about the term self improvement as it is only a term. Rather worry about true happiness as that is what makes for a better life. Do not get all concerned over a tool, rather concentrate on the result. True happiness comes only after you have learned to accept that you are worthy.
So in conclusion, you now know you need some self improvement. Once you start you will learn about you, which will lead to healthy self esteem. You will learn to be secure about who you are and have confidence in your abilities, you will discover how to allow yourself to show your true feelings to you will be able to recognize and take pride in yourself for your achievements in life. All these things together will lead to true happiness in you life.

Overcome the Fear of Self Improvement
People are usually afraid of things they do not understand. When you hear the term “self Improvement” people get all jumpy and defensive. Why? They are afraid of self-improvement because of this fear of the unknown. To proceed with anything in life is self-improvement, to learn more about a subject is self improvement, to exercise, eat right, drive safely, and just about anything else in your life you desire to change is self improvement. may help you in this situation.
In self-improvement you are simply changing yourself for the better. So, to understand is to remove fear. Said another way; the best way to remove fear is to understand. You may already know that life is always in a continual cycle, of ups and downs, good times and bad times, and so forth. Just keep in mind that normally no one is permanently up or permanently down. Those who get stuck in a “down” often are thought of needing self improvement, but you need constant self improvement to just live life, regardless of you situation. In life no one can avoid these ups and downs it is the way life is. However by constant self improvement your life will have shorter downs and longer ups.
What people should do about these downs is to learn from them, the lesson is to understand that without constant growth you are no longer alive. Think about this: Life is growth. If a tree stops producing new leaves it is considered dead, if a rose no longer produces buds and is just a bunch of grey thorny sticks, it is considered dead. To prove that it is alive the tree and the rose must always continue to produce, or grow, new leaves, branches, and so it is growing. When the growing stops it is a sure sign that life has ended. We humans are the same, no we don’t grow leaves or buds, and we produce results. Such as we produce cooked meals for our family, or produce products for our employer, or produce love and comfort for our significant other. We are always producing something and in this measure we are alive.
When we stop being useful and helpful we are no longer living like we should. So we need to use a little self improvement to change what we are doing so that we again produce. An example is in order here. Let us say that your hobby is knitting, and during the winter you knitted every body you know a pair or mitten, because you are good at it and like to do it. Then comes spring, not a whole lot of need for mittens, so you begin to feel useless, and experience a down moment in your life. What to do now? You ask. Well, you learn something new, put it into practice and produce something else. Continuing with the example you learn a new stitch and start making grill pads for everyone so they have a place to set those hot pans without melting the table underneath. You just committed self improvement! Does this mean you should start to learn knitting? No, if knitting is your thing then carry on, but you may have other things you do, such as auto detailing, carpentry, bicycle repair, and so on. Some people even find a way to make a living with their hobby.
So do not fear self improvement, the term means only what it says. Improving yourself. Maybe this year you’ll run a marathon, grow a black rose, solve the world peace problem, grow the perfect tomato, or get the promotion at work. All you need is a little self improvement, and that usually starts with reading something that leads to learning something that leads to doing something.
We all have problems that affect us every day. These problems bring us misery due to the fact that we just don’t know what to do. We should never loose hope, where there is life there is hope, all we need is a little self help in figuring out solutions to these problems. “All we need is to learn how to overcome it and not to be overcome.”
Self-improvement should not wait for the last moment; you should always be looking for skills to learn and things to do. To stop learning is always for the worse and consequently, you will let go of a chance, an opportunity, because you are afraid to take a risk.
Keep in mind that, from time to time, something has to happen in order to free you from monotony, so don’t be surprised if, at a certain moment in time, instead of being afraid of change, you desire it with all your heart.
Self-improvement is not a bad thing; it is not to be feared. You will understand that you are alive and to prove it to the world you will keep growing, and producing. Then when you see your self slowing down or stopping you simply apply a bit of that self improvement stuff again and you are back in the game again.
Be Blessed

Low Self Esteem
Low self esteem has never helped anyone, and it sure will not help you. It can only drive you into depression, anger, fear and a poor quality of life.
The way you think about yourself is the determining factor of how you interact with others.
What are some examples of low esteem, these are not all inclusive, just some of the common symptoms.
You are afraid to converse with others for fear that what you say will not be accepted.
You believe that you are not attractive.
You choose something and it turns out to be the worst one.
Nothing you do seems to go right
You believe that most people do not like you.
You feel swallowed up in a whirlpool of frustration.
Let us discuss some of the origins of low self esteem. Low self esteem usually started in childhood when children were made to believe that they were worthless. Their self confidence was eroded and they succumbed to the idea that they could never achieve success in anything that they did. This left a lot of low self esteem and resentment.
If that was your experience, it is time you cut yourself loose from that mindset and start your self improvement. Start reading about the life of successful persons and you will soon discover that many of them had such low self esteem that they could not even complete an elementary education.
So you ask “What can I do?” The answer is changing your thoughts; it is actually what you think that is the problem.
Understand that those behaviors listed above are thoughts; they are only aspects in your mind that you need improvement on. Do not let low self esteem ruin your life, be determined to improve your self esteem and you are on your way to a better quality of life.
It may seem easier said than done, but what you need to do is stop thinking that the world is against you. Get determined to achieve what you desire. Stop blaming other people for your misfortunes. The world is not your problem, the hard truth is that you are your problem.
From this moment on, realize that you must begin the process of self esteem improvement. Think the right way and be determined to win, and win you will. Just remember that success never comes easily and that is why determination is the counterpart of desperation.
Oftentimes, one gets to the brink of success and with just a little disappointment or setback, they lose heart and give up too easily and too soon. There is a story in the book “Think and Grow Rich” about a man who quit just three feet away from gold, a parable about the lesson of not quitting. Too many people give up, who knows what great things might have achieved if only they had persevered a little longer.
With low self esteem, your life could be rather boring. Change your thinking, and you will begin to see improvement in your life. Make a very special effort to be what you really want to be.
You are the one in control of your life and you have to seriously decide either to remain in a miserable state of low self esteem, or develop a high self esteem with good character and self image.
Many decided to override their low self esteem and improve their attitude, whatever it took. They became some of the greatest men and women that ever lived.
Re-program your thinking and control your state of mind. You must believe that you are worth much more than you think or you will remain at the foot of the ladder and never make an attempt to climb it.
Do not waste your life away with feelings of inadequacies. Instead, think of ways to go about improving your self esteem. Success is yours, just reach out and grasp it.

Thinking - The Great Secret of Success
We must first think in terms of success before we can manifest success. To build a consciousness of success we must first think. Today’s lesson is all about the effort to impress upon you the fact that all achievement begins with thought. Knowing that all things proceed from thought is not enough; we should learn how to build upon that to create a success consciousness.
There are many successful people in this world, some great some small, but all are successful. These people did not simply wake up one morning and find their world had changed; no they followed a pattern and created their world to their liking. For an example a world famous chef creates a fabulous dish of excellent taste, well anyone can emulate that meal by simply following a recipe. So it is with our life, we can find someone who has done it before and follow their example and achieve the same results. You find that, by carefully following the instructions, that there is no mystery at all. When you have a genuine success consciousness it does not mean that you might succeed; it is a guaranteed definite promise of success.
To have and possess a success consciousness is the master key to this life; it is holding that state of mind so that you cannot see yourself as anything but a success. How this must be emphasized, read it again, write it on the wall in front of you, make a poster, and remember this! Know it to be true, because it is true, and it will become a force that causes you to be and do as you will.
What about those large projects, can you accomplish them? As the old proverb says; “you eat an elephant one bite at a time”. You can accomplish those huge tasks by breaking them into smaller tasks and then doing one task at a time. Can you physically get to the top of a stair case? When you are at the bottom looking up, it appears to be a daunting accomplishment, but you can get to the top. Not in a single action, you have to take one step at a time and soon enough you are at the top. The same principle applies to everything, can you climb a mountain? Yes one step at a time. Can you build an empire? Yes, one step at a time.
Let us further reinforce this point with an example. A friend of my daughter wanted to make a wooden sword, so as a gift I procured a piece of wood for him. However he had no knowledge of the use of tools or woodworking, and so the board sat in my shed and took up space. I reminded him of the wood, yet nothing was being done with it, until I helped him. I showed him how to make a cut with a saw, and asked him if he could do that, and he of course said yes. Then I showed him how to use a jig saw, and asked him if he could do it, and he said yes, then I showed him how to use a plane and a sander and he again said he could do that. So with a little coaching, we spent an afternoon in the yard and when he was done he had a wooden sword. He has now gone on to making fancier designs and finishes, and might even start his own flea market stand selling his handy work to offset the cost of all the tools he has since bought.
What he was not seeing was the process of turning a plain piece of wood into an object he desired. He did not know the steps required going from a board to a sword, but once he was shown he soon became very good at this hobby and made it a craft that soon may support him. He developed a success consciousness that he could turn an ordinary board into something that he desired.
Having a success consciousness will lead you to success in any direction you choose. If your desire is the building of a grand estate or a financial empire, a success consciousness will lead you exactly there. You must simply think of it the follow the steps to accomplish it. So what is the formula for building a success consciousness?
Because you need to know this I will give it to you, step by step. Know that anything accomplished by another can be accomplished by you. You have heard of many other people, who have gone from rags to riches, you have probably read about many a great accomplishment by seemingly ordinary people. They did not do anything that you can’t do, all you need is to think it and then do it. There are no barriers to the person man with the “I CAN-I WILL” spirit. You simply create an I CAN awareness, burn those four letters I C A N into your mind, avoid the use of the words hope, wish, and try, and emphasize the word CAN.
Every time you hear of, or view, the achievement of another, instead of quickly thinking “I CAN'T”; know that, if you desire to, you can achieve the same or better. Even though, you may not know how at the time, make the statement “I CAN”. Soon you will find that your mind, instead of being closed with the negative feeling that the task is beyond you, will begin to understand how simple it will be for you to accomplish.
The next step is to create an “I WILL” attitude. As soon as you get an objective which you know will help you, get started on it at once instead of putting it off until tomorrow, which never seems to come. Many people may have an I CAN attitude, but they cannot seem to get started. They have countless reasons why it will be best to start at some later date. This is called procrastination. Perhaps if we understand some of the reasons for procrastination, we will have less reason to procrastinate.
Starting a task requires more effort than to continue. Simply once the task is underway it continues on much more easily than the initial effort. In getting starting you must first think of what you're going to do first, and then how to do it. You must think about the tools and materials you'll need for the job; where they are and how to get them. Still even after these steps are taken, it takes a period of time to get into full swing. This causes people to spend much time in thinking about the task before getting started. This thinking stage should last for minutes, hours, or even a day or two. Procrastination kicks in when the thinking causes the days to become weeks and sometimes extend into months, or years.
Since time marches on, it is better to dwell on the time of completion instead of the time of beginning. This way, your mind will think of the happy ending, instead of the laborious beginning. Use this principle in connection with every task you put your hand to. Think of how good it will feel to have been done with the labor and enjoy the benefits, and then start the labor and soon you will enjoy the fruits.
The next step is to have a definite objective. It is well to know that you CAN do things and that you WILL do things; but, what is it that you will to do? Know what it is that you desire to accomplish, and make sure that it will make your life more successful, happier, and healthier. Then you will be ready for the next step. While this step seems a bit simple, it strangely is the one that most people have trouble with. So start small, and work big. If you desire to have a better color in your kitchen decide the color, buy the paint and the brushes and get to work, soon you will have your kitchen in your favorite color and will be happy. Decide what you want to happen, and then make it happen.
Now this next step is one you must pay attention to. Develop a “Do it now” attitude. After your objective has been examined and analyzed, and you find that you CAN do it, and WILL do it, apply your “Do it now” attitude; and DO it!
Once you have done these steps you now have a success consciousness. You will rejoice in the fact that you are the master of your circumstances; that they are not the master of you. If you are not happy with your life as it is, you now know that it is easily within your power to change it; to be and do as you will.
When a person starts anything with a success consciousness, they are guided to think the thoughts and do the things which will bring success. When they are prompted by mere wishing, they do the things which bring failure. Wishing is negative. We do not wish for the things we know we can get. Do you wish for a glass of water when you know that a simple trip to the faucet with a cup will fulfill that need? No you go and get it, so it is with all other things, if you wish for it and do nothing you fail, but if you know you can have it and go get it you will be satisfied.
To those who know anything at all about the workings of the mind, you are what you think. This is no mystery; if you hold a thought to the effect that a certain task will be difficult, your mind accepts the thought as an instruction and actually makes the task difficult. If, on the other hand, you enjoy a certain job and know that it will prove to be easy for you, your mind will accept that thought as an instruction, and will guide you in doing your work quickly and well.
Isn't it now quite clear to you that you are what you think you are; and that if you have not been getting as much out of life as you might have wished for, there is no one to blame except yourself? What would you think of a person that was starving to death and yet had a kitchen full of food? This question may appear ridiculous, unless you realize that so many people are doing virtually just that. They possess everything they need for health, wealth and happiness, yet without making use of their powers within, they just exist without enjoying the many blessings which could be theirs.
Knowledge is of no value unless you use it. Instead of just agreeing with me, give these ideas a chance to work for you. Practice, practice, and practice some more. Do not approach this with an "I wonder if they will work" attitude. They do work, they work for many others and they will work for you. You can begin developing a success consciousness: You can begin building an awareness that you have talent in any field you so choose.
Before going on with the rest of your day; pause a moment for contemplation. Review what you have read, if the contents do not clearly come back to you, read it again. It would be impossible to place a cash value on what you have just learned. Do not allow yourself to lose a bit of it.

How to Forget
Something that we all do is to allow our past to influence our future. You can see examples of it everywhere you look. Yes, some things do have an effect on your future, but those things do not hold you back, they just change the course you must take.
There are many effective methods of memory training that are currently around and are offered to the public, but, to the best of my knowledge, there is no course teaching one how to forget. So today’s lesson is about how to forget the right way.
Let us build on the statement that it is the memories of the past and the fear of the future which make our present so difficult. We all know we only live in the present; you can not change the past, so why should you allow the past to affect your present? One of the main reasons why it is so hard to maintain positive thoughts in our minds, is our memories of our past hardships and failures. If your life has been a difficult one, you are likely to have a conflict of mental pictures, so when you try to visualize success your memories of the past come flooding in and seriously cripple your efforts. This means that your recalling of unpleasant situations from the past neutralizes the success for your future.
So now you understand why it is so important to develop your faculties of forgetting, but you have to forget in the proper way or you will end up making the mistakes of the past all over again. It is important to develop the ability to remember, you must discover the correct method of recalling so that your present life will not be controlled by events you no longer can control.
Let us examine the statement: You Are What You Think You Are! The impression you have of yourself is the accumulation of your experiences so far acquired throughout this lifetime. Since most people are inclined toward the negative side, it is most likely that you have a negative impression of yourself. In other words, you think of yourself as being destined by fate to live a hard life; and therefore, you do. Because what you think is what you are.
So what we need is a mental eraser. Just think if you had a mental eraser and could remove all of the unpleasant, negative pictures of your life, and then replace them with positive ones, then your future would be successful and happy. Now I know you will lose no time in using your mental eraser, once you have it, however there is one point that must be made clear: The memories and pictures of your past should be erased only as far as they affect your present activities, not completely removed from your memory.
During my life I have had many experiences, some very some bitter, and some very sad, and others excruciatingly painful, and through these experiences learned many things the hard way. Having said that, I wouldn't part with those memories now, they are what I was and did, not who I am and where I am going. These memories serve not as a guide but as a way of judging my progress; I can fully appreciate what I have, by comparing my present with my past.
So we now have this provocative dilemma: We should retain mental pictures of past experiences as a means of comparison; yet at the same time we should erase negative mental pictures so that positive ones may take over. You now ask; “How do we do this?” So let us get to the matter at hand.
Let us start with an overview of the process and then work into some details. The main idea and goal of solving this problem is to take all pictures of former events, unpleasant ones in particular, and place them in a separate memory files for future reference purposes only. We then edit all new pictures seeking admittance into our conscience, and quickly refuse those which might have a negative effect on our lives. An example is the old family album. In it you find pictures of great grandpa wearing what look to be very stuffy clothes and holding a lantern, and great grandmother cooking on a wood stove, or hand washing the laundry. You also find baby pictures of family members now long grown up, wearing cloth diapers, and pictures of children playing, and so on. None of us would like to look the way, or dress the way they did in the “old days" but it is nice to have the pictures as a means of comparing the past with the present.
You gain knowledge through past mistakes, so you must remember only the lesson, and not the pain. The word “If” is an important word here; it is the word that is the catalyst which will join your past experiences with future failure or success. There is no difference in external conditions; the difference is in the mind. If you accept the mental pictures of disaster (and, as you know thoughts are pictures and pictures are patterns) then there is nothing you can do but fail. However if you use your mental eraser, and erase the disaster pictures, taking care to put a copy in your mental album for future reference, and replace them with success pictures then there is nothing you can do but succeed.
So now to the nitty gritty part of the lesson, an exercise; we will begin thinking about thinking. As you think about thinking you will experience a great revelation: You will begin to get a glimpse of the gigantic reservoir of power you have at your command. Start off by examining every thought you have, some use pen and paper to help keep track, do as you will, but you must do this exercise. While examining your thoughts, begin to classify them as negative, positive, destructive, constructive, and so forth. Then the next step is to become very critical about the thoughts you allow to enter your mind. Each time you find a picture coming into consciousness which has any connection at all with failure, illness, or gloom, remove it.
There are two methods of removing these thoughts, find the one that works for you and use it often. The first method is to “fire” it. When a negative thought enters into your consciousness say to it firmly “cancel” (of course there are other more “fun” explicative’s but we cant list them here) and then change your thought to what you do desire. If the same thought keeps trying to come back fire it again and again as many times as you have to. Eventually this thought will no longer return and the new thought you used to replace it will come around often.
The next method requires more effort, when a negative thought enters your mind, capture it and examine it. Look at the details and find out what is false about it, what is silly, what is outrageous, and in so doing remove from it its power to affect your life, then bend it twist and force it to show the correct picture you desire. Bit by bit change its existence from a negative thought to a positive one.
Let us use an example to further illustrate the exercise. Let us say you have an important meeting coming up, a job interview for instance, and you begin to have negative thoughts. In the first method when the thought comes in “they wont hire me because…” and you see yourself walking away dejected and disappointed, you firmly say “Cancel” and then affirm instead that they will hire you as you are the best candidate for the position, and see yourself signing the hiring papers. You do this over and over until you have the correct feeling of confidence that they will indeed hire you. In the second method you when the same negative comes into your mind, you look at the picture, why are you walking away? Why are you dejected? And so on, then bit by bit change the picture to you are walking away exited, elated and happy, you got the job and for better pay than you asked for.
Just because you have failed at the same task in the past does not mean you will fail today, change the picture by using your mental eraser and soon you will find that the past is just that, the past, and your present is happy and your future is now looking brighter.
Think of this lesson as something far greater than just words on a screen, think of this as your newest key to abundance. Think of it as the password to a more enjoyable life. Allow yourself actually to sparkle with enthusiasm, become eager to prove that the principles outlined here will be just as effective for you as they have been for others. Then use the tactics you have just discovered, to do nothing will get you nowhere. You'll end up saying: "I read the article and didn't get a thing out of it," and it will be true.
Things begin to happen when you see them happening. This of course, refers to good and bad things. If you see dismal things happening, you are directing them to come into existence, causing the pictures to become realities. Be thankful, however, that the reverse is true. When you see good things happening, you are directing your forces to make those pictures realities.
Think about thinking! Erase all pictures which might have come into your mind because of the day's experiences. Replace them with mental pictures of the things that you desire to happen. Here we must cover one finale point: Avoid reverse positives. Sometimes a positive affirmation can be negative in results. As an example, assume that you are working a routine to overcome shyness. The mantra: "I will overcome my shyness," is a positive statement, but it creates a negative condition. It gives emphasis to the fact that you are timid and makes your condition all the more real. Instead, affirm that you like people and like to talk to people. There is nothing at all negative about such a statement.
Here is the formula to follow in creating mental pictures that will not react in a negative manner: Picture the condition you desire; not the condition you are attempting to overcome. To say: "I will not fail" is negative; to say: "I am a success" is positive. The thought: "I will not be weak" is negative, whereas the expression: "I am getting stronger every day" is positive.
Practice the exercises given, with the assurance that the results will lift you to whatever heights you choose. You can be and do whatever you will to.

How to Appreciate Life
Are you one of those people that are always wondering why other people have it so much better than you? If so this little discussion is for you. The reason you notice that so many other people have things and stuff better than you is to provide you with a destination in with to direct your life.
We all notice differences between what we are and others, we also notice quite readily things we see that are better or worse than we have. For instance we notice the person who is in good physical shape, and compare ourselves to them. We notice that that other person is driving a cooler looking car than we are and so compare what they have to what we have.
What this boils down to is a study in contrasts. Without contrast we can neither appreciate what we do have, as well as develop a desire for things that we could have. This life we have is made up of contrasts, and these contrasts are actually blessings. We easily notice contrasts, and as contrasts are discussed, you will understand what a dull and boring life we would lead if there were none. For example if it has been cold for many months we appreciate a nice warm sunny spring day. Now if all there was is continuously calm and warm weather, then you wouldn't enjoy it because there would be no contrast. In other words you would know nothing of any other kind of weather, and so would not be able to distinguish between nice days and good days as you would never have a bad day.
Would you cherish the light if there was never any darkness? When you see some children behave badly, don't you think all the more of your own well behaved children? If you have pain, don't you feel good when it is gone? You appreciate the value of being well, but would not know it without the contrast of being in pain. There are many contrasts only some we will touch on: Being hungry or being fed; happiness or unhappiness; being rich or being poor, and so on.
You experience contrast so that you can fully appreciate what you have now. As soon as there ceases to be contrasts in your life, your existence becomes bland. No matter how hard we may try we can not avoid contrasts.
So how does one react to contrast? Do you complain that the other person has a better life than you, or that they are luckier than you to have such nice things? What you should realize is that you noticed this contrast so that you can set a goal for yourself to acquire these things. Not by taking it away from them, but by learning what to do to earn it for your self. You can do and be anything you will to, however if you do not know what to will to be then you need an example to follow. If one person can do it so can you.
The purpose of this little discussion is to enable you to see more readily what you can do and have. Let us say you see a really nice house, instead of cursing that owner as being too rich, or by envying, set a goal for your self to someday have a house just like it, or better. Contrast is there to help you lay out your life pattern so that you will be able to maintain your earned happiness. So you will begin to appreciate contrast, other wise life would soon be meaningless to you. When you observe contrasts you should be thankful if your circumstances are better than their, or if the contrast you observed was better than your circumstances it should be seen as a shining example of what you might want to do or have.
When you observe a contrast, and you desire that you should have those circumstances, those possessions, those skills, those blessings, then if you laid out a long range, step-by-step program, extending for many years, you would assure yourself of a continuous satisfaction with life. Once you accomplish a goal or set of goals and having realized your objectives, don’t stop; look for new trails to blaze.
So begin to enjoy the varied continuity of contrasts. You would always be in the enviable position of comparing blessings about to come into being with existing ones.
Begin right now making realities of your desires, when you see a great pianist, do you not also want to be one? Well believe it or not you can, all you need do is set a goal, and take the steps to accomplish it. When you see something you desire to have, set the goal to have one just like it or better, and take the steps needed to acquire it. Find out what you desire from life and let go of the past, look for your direction, it is out there you just need to see it with different eyes, and when you see it know now that you can be or do anything that you will to.
All right! You are being given the green light. Ready; Get set; GO!
