The Secret of Pity
Pity is a feeling of sadness, usually because of a person’s trouble or situation that may be less than desirable. Most pity is self pity, where a person complains about their lot in life, about something that is not making them happy, and so they feel sorry for themselves. We do not know what the percentage is of people that pity themselves, but if we did find out such figures it would probably be a very astonishing amount. Today we will discuss the reason for pity, and provide you with an amazing realization.
Why do people pity themselves? It is amazing how many times self pity stems from a mere lack of observation. An individual will be living under some sort of adverse condition, and instead of taking steps to change it, will pity themselves for what they have to put up with. If one could but realize that they have within their power the means of changing those circumstances, one would actually welcome the existing state of affairs. Pity brings to light the problems that need correcting, and this gives you a base to build on, and with just a little constructive imagination combined with action, it will bring into being a completely satisfying life.
I am sure you have either said or heard someone say; "It is just my luck to have that happen" or "I might have known I would be disappointed"; or "Why do I deserve all of this bad luck?" and so on. These are just a few of the negatives frequently used. When we program our self in such a manner, we will of course bring in to reality that which we focus on. A simple knowledge of cause and effect comes into play; we cause what we want to happen by verbalizing it and focusing on it and giving these words the weight of emotion causing them to vibrate as commands, thus bringing them to life. Quite literally bringing them alive and into our life.
There is a solution, a simple but time consuming way out of pity. First off be glad you are as you are. You are alive, and while there is life there is hope. Look at your pity, and instead of feeling sorry for yourself, see the situation as a giant clue that you have something to do. Yes you are probably cringing right now thinking this means work, and your right; it means just that, you have some work to do. Rejoice and accept your present circumstances, as they are like a foundation on which to build your life.
For example if you have a leaky roof, sitting around and complaining about it will accomplish nothing, but if you investigate, find out where the leak is, then accumulate the materials necessary and then repair the roof; your situation improves and you have less to worry about. This leads us to the next step of this discussion. Now pay attention to this next part as it is important.
Next take all of the negative elements which have been disturbing you and one by one change them to positive. When you catch your self complaining about something, take note of it; write it down, then think of the opposite and write that down. Do you see what you will be doing? You will be developing a series of tasks to accomplish. If you complain that you have the figure of a pear, and then write it down, think of the opposite such as the figure of an hourglass, and now you have a direction in which to focus your energies. Of course this means you will have to expend some effort, but by doing so you will open up new areas of happiness for you to enjoy.
There are two sides to every story, this is a statement often heard by most people; and generally speaking, it is a true statement. Here you must take note that in most cases there an opposite of nearly every condition or situation you can name. If something bothers you, instead of trying to endure and hold a pity party for your self; look for the contrast; look for the condition which would be ideal to you, then, applying the suggestions of this discussion, find the solution and take the action and obtain the improvement you desire.
Hopefully this little discussion has given you much food for thought; see to it that you think about every word of it. When you start to feel pity, instead of expecting sympathy, realize that you have a work list instead, and your life will soon be far more exceptional than you thought it could be. You can be and do what ever you have a will to.
Be Blessed

Success Thinking
There is a big difference between those who are successful and those who are not; it is the thought that first enters your mind in the morning that makes a huge difference in your life. It is not simply positive thing; it is more like positive programming.
Positive thinking will create positive reactions in your inner mind. The difficulty arises in the implementation of the positive thought process. When you wake up in the morning, what is your normal thought? Do you grudgingly slide into consciousness with the thought: "Darn, another day at the grind, I wish I could sleep another hour or two!"
Or, do you rise with vibrancy and the thought: “I feel good! I'm going out and shatter all records today."
This clearly shows the difference between those leading a successful and happy life and those who are not. So why is there such great variation in day-openers?
In the great majority of instances, however, the condition at waking is a reflection of the thought pattern established in the mind the night before. If you go to bed with negative thoughts such as: “Today was a tough one. I will have a hard tomorrow, which I am not looking forward to," etc., etc., etc., then you are commanding your subconscious to give you a hard day and you are apt to be restless all night long. During the night while your subconscious mind mulls over the "tough day" thoughts you gave it, the universe is conspiring to give you what you desire. Since you seem to desire a hard day it is setting up the events so that you will. Is it any wonder you awaken dreading the new day?
Now suppose you go to bed having thoughts such as: "I will knock them over tomorrow!” Or “Today was a good day, but nothing compared to what I'll have tomorrow.” Or “Tomorrow is going to be the best day ever.” And so on. Isn't it easy to understand how such an established thought pattern will help bounce you out of bed with enthusiasm in the morning? You have given your subconscious a command and it will work with the universe to bring about the results you desire. So you see it is not positive thinking that is the big key, it is positive programming that can and will make your life happy.
Whenever a powerful thought seeps into your consciousness, do you get some feeling in the neighborhood of the solar plexus? This is the building within of an urge to get it done. In the words of the great Jedi master; “there is no try, do or do not” just makes you want to go and get it done. Has that feeling caught up with you yet? If you don't feel the urge, then you have not been concentrating on this information. So, for your own sake, take a little break, relax a minute, and then reread this lesson.
You now know that the magic secret password which unlocks the door to a life of great abundance and glorious happiness, a great life can be yours and is yours if you will only take a few minutes at bedtime to command your subconscious, and when you awake reinforce the command with a positive statement. Just do it!

The Pursuit of Happiness
The quest for happiness is the greatest driving force of most people. The only people who do not seek happiness are those who have found it. The lack of happiness is the primary cause of struggle in our lives. The majority of us believe that if we have this, or had that, then we would then be happy.
Supreme and lasting happiness does not come from possessions or situations, but you will be relieved to know that not having these outward possessions does not cause misery. Happiness does not come from out side of you, it comes from within. It is you who determines your own happiness.
So what is happiness? Is it a mere figment of imagination? Most people think that happiness is attained through the gratification of a desire. This is ignorance, something that is incorrect that was taught to you by someone. You probably heard something along the lines that having these things like a house a car, and so on, would make you happy. When you finally got that house or car you may have been happy for a while but the un-happiness returned. The fact is that mere outward possessions can not and will not make you happy. The happiness you get from a gratified desire is brief, and is always followed by a demand for more and more satisfaction causing unhappiness.
The answer to the predicament of unhappiness is simple; it is selfishness. Most people will admit that selfishness is the cause of most of the world’s problems. Unfortunately we all think it is other people’s selfishness, and refuse to see that it is our own that is the problem. Happiness is yours for the asking, and as soon as you are willing to face your own selfishness you are on the verge of a breakthrough into a life that is happiness. As long as you believe that it is other people’s selfishness that robs you of happiness, you will remain a prisoner in your own self delusional purgatory.
So once you have come to grips with your inner self, and have found that it is your selfishness that robs you of your happiness, then you will be ready to accept the responsibility that come with happiness. Yes you heard that right; the responsibility that comes with happiness.
Cling to your self and you cling to sorrow. Look at the glutton, who eats to feel better, always looking for a new and better taste. Look at how the glutton becomes bloated burdened and diseased, and no food will satisfy the hunger or grant the relief or happiness that is so desperately sought. To seek selfishly is to lose happiness and what one would consider as the source of happiness. Then compare to the person who has mastered their appetite, who finds pleasure in even the simplest meal. Self mastery is the secret to happiness.
To master your self you must know what you are here to do, what your purpose is in this life. Now here is the hard part: Your purpose is to serve others! Look at those who are wealthy, did they get their money by taking it from you? What they did was offer a service or a product to you and you gave them money in exchange for it. By serving you they gained, so it is with you, if you serve others you will gain. By avoiding service to others you avoid happiness.
Master your self, release your selfishness, do not look for happiness from outside sources, and serve others; this will bring lasting happiness into your life.
Be Blessed

Share With Others
One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name.
Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down.
It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers.
That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual.
On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. "Really?" she heard whispered. "I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!" and, "I didn't know others liked me so much," were most of the comments.
No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on.
Several years later, one of the students was killed in Viet Nam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature.
The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin.
As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. "Were you Mark's math teacher?" he asked. She nodded: "yes." Then he said: "Mark talked about you a lot."
After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher.
"We want to show you something," his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket "They found this on Mark when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it."
Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him.
"Thank you so much for doing that," Mark's mother said. "As you can see, Mark treasured it."
All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around. Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, "I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home."
Chuck's wife said, "Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album."
"I have mine too," Marilyn said. "It's in my diary"
Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group. "I carry this with me at all times," Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: "I think we all saved our lists"
That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again.
The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. And we don't know when that one day will be.
So please, tell the people you love and care for, that they are special and important. Tell them, before it is too late.
If you're "too busy" to take those few minutes right now, would this be the VERY first time you didn't do that little thing that would make a difference in your relationships?
Remember, you reap what you sow: What you put into the lives of others comes back into your own.
Be Blessed

How to Have Natural Highs
There is a feeling that all humans enjoy. This feeling is called “being high.” Once a person has experienced a high they want to experience it again and again. Why do people try to get “high” through alternative means?
Unfortunately it is because most people experienced a high for the first time by drinking, or using drugs, or some other alternate means. It is a sad thing that they can only experience a high when they use these destructive methods to try to re-experience that high.
There is a real high, a natural high that you can experience. It is a similar high as the one achieved by artificial stimulus, but without the destructive side effects. This real high lasts longer and is far more satisfying than fake highs, and these reality highs can be consistently reproduced.
A fake high, lasts only as long as the chemical effects allow. This causes people to have to become drug addicts, or alcoholics to maintain the experience. This lifelong addiction to the artificial stimulus to experience a high is destructive. The chemicals cause one to lose functions of the body and spirit. A real lose of not just motor control but mental control as well. The chemicals have other side effects such as health problems, money problems social problems and so on.
Similar to the fake high, a real high can last for as long as you can maintain it. Once it is achieved you can enjoy the high without any destructive side effects. Rather than a loss of motor skills they become enhanced, instead of pickling your internal organs they function more efficiently, and so on. So why don’t people go for the real high? Because they don’t know how to achieve a true high, no body has ever taught them.
So what does cause a natural high? The answer is surprisingly simple, easy to learn, yet so seemingly hard to master. Natural highs take place when a trio of emotions comes together: pleasure, well-being, and happiness.
Pleasure is an idiosyncratic perception by an individual based on the five primary senses. The experience is highly individual, for example two people can look at a butterfly; one sees beauty in motion the other sees a bug. Two People listen to a song, one hears music the other hears noise, and so on for all the senses.
Well-being is the feeling that all is right and correct with you and your world. Feeling comfortable that everything, for the moment, is the way it should be.
Happiness is an emotion, and like all emotions it is difficult to give a definitive explanation of it. Happiness differs from the other emotions as it is the one you can choose. You can at any time choose to be happy, and that emotion will push out whatever other emotions you are experiencing.
Natural highs involve the release of physical and emotional tensions while still being fully aware of the mind and body: The sensation of “letting go” without guilt or reservation. This process of creating your own euphoria is a feeling, that once achieved will never be forgotten.
You probably have a memory or two of natural highs. If you examine them you will discover that these natural highs occurred when you were experiencing freedom. Free from guilt, free from being controlled by something or someone else. Here is a key, so pay attention. Freedom is being in control: of your self, of your own destiny, and of your own reality. If you are living honestly and rationally; you have an acute sense of the physical and psychological process of living. That clarity and control of self, life, and reality; is what leads to the ability to “let go” and to produce a truly exhilarating physical as well as emotional high.
The amazing part of all this is; natural highs come from within. You are the creator of your own euphoria, you are the only one who can experience this high, and you are the only one who can create it. Realize this; you are the only person living in your skin. Therefore it is only you who can feel what you feel, you are the one who can choose what you feel and when. To have a real high you must be free.
To give up your freedom; to surrender your life, happens when you ask other people to solve your problems and give you happiness. Do you know what you get when you do that? You get told: To get a job so you can buy your own twelve packs. Is that how you want to live, from twelve pack to twelve pack?
You are responsible for your own self; you are solely responsible for your own actions. You must choose for yourself; to live your life, to solve your own problems, to be honest with your self, to be happy. To choose differently results in loss of freedom and therefore the loss of happiness.
A natural high is a here and now, self induced feeling. You must simply know when you are as well a where you are. Then add in pleasure, some well-being, and some happiness; then let go, and you will experience a real high.
Be Blessed

You get told: To get a job so you can buy your own twelve packs. Is that how you want to live, from twelve pack to twelve pack?
You are responsible for your own self; you are solely responsible for your own actions. You must choose for yourself; to live your life, to solve your own problems, to be honest with your self, to be happy. To choose differently results in loss of freedom and therefore the loss of happiness.
A natural high is a here and now, self induced feeling. You must simply know when you are as well a where you are. Then add in pleasure, some well-being, and some happiness; then let go, and you will experience a real high.
Be Blessed
