The Ultimate Guide to The Ultimate Diet.

There’s much ado about diets and diet plans lately. For those worried about their weight, here is the perfect diet plan for any person who knows how to read and write. This plan allows you to eat whatever you want, and not only help you lose weight and become healthier, it will also only cost you about three bucks.

From the beginning: what is a diet? The dictionary defines it as "what a person usually eats". In the context that we are looking for it is what you eat as a way to lose weight. So, what’s the hard part? Sticking to it. (Well, no wonder.) There are so many diet plans out there it’s getting ridiculous. There are diets named after oceans, large bodies of water, states, countries, geographical features and even a few named after languages. Yes, there are a few named after some person, but most of those people died early due to health conditions… Obviously, most of those diet plans were a way to make money for the author. With all these diet plans I am surprised anybody even tries one.

Well, I am here to help. This plan is simple but hard as hell. It’s going to require you to be honest with yourself. You would be surprised at the number of people who lie to themselves. Then, again maybe not. If you are one of them then it is time to stop kidding yourself and learn to be brutally honest with yourself.

"What’s the plan already? When is this person going to quit rambling about other stuff and tell us the plan?" OK, I hear you. It is a simple plan with only two rules.
Before I start you must make a solemn promise to follow the plan and obey the two rules without fail. Do you promise? Good! Here it is: Write down everything before you eat it.
You’re probably wondering, where is this plan? Go back and read the last sentence of that last paragraph. Eat whatever you want, but you have to write it down first. If you do not write it down you cannot eat it.

Of course, a little common sense is required here. Just because some person said you could eat whatever you wanted doesn’t mean you should eat stuff that’s bad for you. For example: rat poison. The clue to this is the word "poison". Obviously this is not good for you, so don’t eat it. If you do you are too stupid to live anyway. Just because somebody said you could eat anything, are you going to go to the nearest pasture pick up some fresh dung and take a big bite? A little common sense here; do not eat it if it is bad for you. Duh!

All right time to get started. Go to your local store and buy a pocket notebook and a pen. This will set you back less than three bucks. Take them everywhere you go. There are two rules to this diet:

Rule number one—you can’t eat it until you have written it – In other words you have to write it down first, then you can eat it. Absolutely no exceptions. If you can’t write it down you can’t eat it. To be able to eat anything you want you have to write it in your book first. What if there is a nice candy bar right in front of you but you left your book upstairs. Too bad, so sad! You can NOT eat it until you have written it down. So go back get your book and write down candy bar, then eat away. You left your book at home and went to work, you say? Well, your going to be hungry when you get home. You may not eat and write it down later; you have to write it before you eat it. Stick to this rule and be tough to yourself until you absolutely write down everything you eat.

Rule two—do not drink anything until you have written it first – That includes everything, water, soda, tea, etc. If you are going to drink it write it down first. This has one exemption. If you are really thirsty and drink only water then you may write this down as soon as you can. If you want a soda, you have to write it before you drink it; the exemption is for water only.

Let’s get a few details out of the way. Every day is a new page. Put the days date at the top of the page. Be brutally honest with yourself; write down everything you want to eat before you eat it. The first week you do this you may be general. For example you get up and eat a bagel for breakfast. Write bagel in your book. If you eat candy you can write candy. Do this every day for a week. You will see how easy it has become.

Next week, write details. Let’s use that bagel example again. You had one for breakfast but it had cream cheese and cherry jelly. So this week write down bagel with cream cheese and jelly. If you eat candy be specific like "name" candy bar, or "name" lemon sours. For everything you eat gets a separate entry. Your plate at dinner had meat, potatoes, and pie with ice cream. Do not just write dinner. Be a bit more detailed and list them as I have. Add any other details like gravy or butter, and so on. If you are eating your second or third candy bar make sure you write candy bar again, don’t just put a check mark next to the first entry.

What’s next after those two weeks? Go back to your book and look at what you eat and drink. You will see that you probably didn’t need to eat all that food, or If you drank twelve sodas a day, you now know it and can cut back on soda. One less per day until you get to one or two a day, not twelve. Same thing all the way. Cut back what you are eating too much of. You do this by being strict with yourself and writing down what you are about to eat.

Here is where the diet is going to help you to lose weight. You have developed enough self-control that you write it before you eat it. Now look at what you have eaten before you write your next entry. Have you already had six candy bars? Do you really need a seventh? Learn to walk away. This will help you not have to write so much and soon you will notice your pants are getting loose and are starting to fit without binding.

You’ll start feeling better about yourself as you have developed self-control and have been honest with yourself. Become a conscious being concerning your diet, and you won’t have to try anything else. (Unless a doctor orders you to) So, be faithful to yourself; write it before you eat it.
